Bad first half, but we stuck around. Emery plain got it wrong.
BUT - he changed it up perfectly in the second half, and we deserved the victory in the end.

McGinn got written off, Konsa was written off, it's a long list... There were even people on here after the Liverpool defeat questioning whether Emery shoudl continue being our manager or not...
Emery makes average players good, and good players great.

No offense but I really find it hard to take anything you say seriously given the amount of times you've expressed the view that Emi Buendia is a shit footballer.
He's mega sht - what's he done in our last 10 games, huh. Nothing hahaha...

and replace him with who? Why would we do that
It's a business and that's a handsome profit. You buy 2 new players for that.

We'll finish above United this year. 100%
Agreed, but that's not the point.
Just asking what or who does it take to turn his head. -

No chance, Utd is far too toxic behind the scenes.
I'm confident he wouldnt got to Real or Barca. or any non-PL team.
I am less so about him getting tapped up in the PL. -

which we would not accept and they also dont have that money left
He's 28 - you bite their arms off for 100 million.

So if I am Jim Ratcliffe I offer the man 2X what he is making to come to United.
Now, I don't know if he'd go there given the level of control he has at Villa, but if he were offered something similar there would he be tempted???
My gut is not - he's not that kind of guy. But money talks... -

If Arsenal offer 100m +, he's gone.
Agree.

I agree. I've loved him since he arrived but it has taken a couple of years for people to really see the value in him.... even Villa fans. Probably the longest wait for a player chant ever since he arrived while others get all the attention. He's really been through thick and thin with the club since we came up, along with McGinn, Konsa and Mings and is now a veteran of the squad. He deserves all the plaudits he's getting and some. Just a delightful player to watch.
Second name on the team sheet after Emi for me.

Entitled. Absolutely and completely entitled. I have no clue how he thinks his performances on the pitch justify a starting place over Kamara/ Dougie and Sir John.
You know how you get a starting place, mate: you train harder than anyone else and you show it on the pitch when you get some minutes.

I just missed out on the Saunders era at Villa Park but nothing in my time supporting out great club comes remotely close to this last year. Unai is an absolute genius. He never takes a backward step. I love him to bits and would be thrilled if we could keep him long term. Amazing what he has done in his time here. Absolutely magnificent.
This. Our league cup win and the first part of MON was the highlights of my Villa life so far.
Unai has trumped that by miles.

Massive win against a top 5 rival. Oli is back - such a confidence player. That'll be him scoring for at least another 5 games now.
Diaby is a worldie - looking more and more like a bargain every game even at 50 mill.
Thought we were going to lose when Tielimans came on but we held in there.

Would love an Under Armor kit!

Love it how us being so much better than any time I've been a Villa fan and yet people still glass half empty...

Referee an absolute joke all around. Terrible. Also 11 mins added on, how in TF...
Solid play by us. Chelsea rarely looked threatening. Pau is really figuring out this premier league malarkey.

I continue to be surprised given our ownership that we aren't with Adidas!

If we think we have it bad on merch...
Went to the Bernabeu and had to get a shirt while I was there (AVFC 82 on the back of it, obviously).
200 euros (including the letters)...
Was also in Germany earlier in the year and went to see Bayern. Much more reasonable there - only 100 euros. You can tell Bayern is fan owned!
However, usually I just get a new Villa shirt each year with my favorite player of the season once they've gone on sale. -

Not saying he wont do this, but i also think he is in a different position here.
He has PL money in terms of transfers etc, but more than that it seems to me that he is basically running the show, has been given all the reigns and is building his team and backroom however he likes, such as the entire support team he has around him, bringing Monchi in, probably having control/last say over transfers, i get the impression has been told to build the club how he likes, in his own image.
tbh i think that would be a huge thing for him, rather than going somewhere else (like Chelsea....or similar) where he would have much less control and sway.
Also, its not like he hasnt done the "big jobs", with Arsenal & PSG, so i can also imagine he's "been there, done that", and having the pure control and oversight here would be a huge, huge thing for him.
I could be wrong, but i would prob bet a fiver im not
I don't think a Manure, Chelski would give him the absolute control that we would.
I don't think he would see City as a challenge and it would be the same.
He's got the money, fanbase, control and league to seriously cement himself as one of greats of all time.

Duran changed the game for me.
Doug is a HUGE player.
Diaby is consistently good.
Still some worries about Ollie and Torres.
That aside, that is a HUGE character building and morale win.
Torres is looking perfect on the attack. Couldn't ask for more.
Defending - needs a bit more work.

"Hope someone breaks Cash's legs".
i mean it was a bad challenge but he didn't go into it trying to hurt the guy.
Calling us a boring club with no trophies... might want to fact check that!
