both, overdone and the default, its safe and id say that with us almost definitely getting a 3rd kit thats where they can go wild (which i dont disagree with)
my opinion of it general though is that we have better ones that deserve to be redone
This where I sit too.. I feel it’s over done, but yet I don’t mind it (or a white kit) being a “default” away kit. it’s simple it’s clean and it has a lot of memberberries for our older fans. I’m too young to remember, so my nostalgia is limited. But I appreciate the design.
but yess we have some classic away kits that could be reimagined. The 83-84 away has been teased a lot for the last few years. So who knows

In general, how does everyone feel about the remakes of the 82 away kit?
overdone, or just our default away kit?

They were in the Europa League this season and dropped down to Conference League after finishing 3rd in their Europa group.
They were in the Champions League last season and dropped down to Europa League after finishing 3rd in their CL group.
Their current manager won the Europa League last season with Sevilla.
Their current form is Won 5, Drawn 1 and Lost 0 in the last 6 matches.
So they’re pretty good then

Imagine if we could still see who voted

I loosely follow Belgian football without ever really watching it... strangely enough because of a really old CM game where I managed Cercle Brugge!
Denkey would be the obvious player to be scouting. He has had an incredible season; top goalscorer in the league by a mile. Bit of a slow burner up until this point but showed promise last season and has just massively kicked on. They lost Ueda to Feyenoord in the summer and he hasn't (seemingly) done much there, so always a bit of caution if that's the player we'd be after. But a striker in his early 20's having a standout season in the Belgian Pro League? It worked out alright last time...

Feeling excited about this one.
I have no idea how good Olympiacos are now days, yet I feel like we have it in us to get the job done

I don't really understand why it matters what Adidas logo gets put on the kit
Both logos give different vibes and different styles. the steps logo for sports wear, the trefoil logo for fashion wear
i was hoping if we got a trefoil kit, it be something more unique than an identikit.
however looking at the leaks, it’s just an identikits with the trefoil logo instead. So kind of meaningless. Other than being a nicer logo

Bayern, Arsenal, Madrid, Juve and United are the only ones getting the old skool logo on their 3rd kits. Elite teams to adidas are long term partners and kit sale sellers. Nothing to do with CL. I’m more surprised to not see Ajax on the list as they sell bucket loads of shirts.
But we are long term, it’s been ages since we signed the deal with them. Like months

It'll be Emerson Royal playing inverted, and he'll get turned inside out by Palmer and Madueke.
So be it

Madueke terrorised Digne, who is at least a competent LB. Imagine what he’d do to Spurs makeshift guy. Also palmer comes off the left too.. it’s going to be interesting to see Chelsea trying to exploit that area

Adidas templates are so aggressively middle-of-the-road.
It’s why I’m hoping we get a Trefoil kit. Not just badge, but design too

Oliver Arblaster big talent. lets get it done.
That surname makes him sound like a Final Fantasy Character. That alone makes me want him.
level him up so he goes from scoring goals to goalagas
gaming hat off, he’s highly rated and if I’m correct he captained a game the other week, so has something about him as a person

The thing with casually throwing out just sell JJ or Luiz or any of our starters... Who do people think they're going to join? Especially for £50-60m
Theyre not going to Crystal Palace...
If we sold JJ I think it would be to Liverpool, a team we're competing with and all sat expecting them to drop off giving us a huge chance to overtake them, and he'd no doubt be class there
The clubs coming in for our players would be Liverpool, utd, Chelsea, arsenal, spurs - it's a proper **** dangerous game, these players would make the teams we're trying to finish above better
If we have to sell players to stay inline of FFP, then those are the trade offs.

Why is Leandro Trossard refereeing a champion league semi final?

Amazing these people are employed as “experts”
Some Villa fans want these people talking about us more regularly. Why? They don’t know anything.

ok ok,
so it’s an 85/70% of own revenue cap for every club in the league, but max of the x4 of the lowest club revenue in the league.
so if you’re a club with yearly outgoings bigger than that x4, you have to make changes or get sanctions?

Yes - almost like you need to manage your finances more responsibly.
It just seems like backhand way for the “poorer” clubs to actually compete. They get a chance to actually compete on spending, but if it turns out well for them and they get in to Europe, then they’re ****.
so it doesn’t really even the playing field. It just hides the unevenness better.
-
My interpretation of the new cap confuses me
clubs are allowed to spend 400% of the lowest earning clubs income (estimated £400m a year)
however if you qualify for Europe, you can only spend 80/70% of your own income. Villa’s case about £170-150M ish.
so what would happen if a Bournemouth maxed out their cap and qualify for European football, would they need to sell players/ reduce wage bills just to play European football?

Potentially illegal stuff, so probably best not to say in an open forum.

I just want to keep the badge that we have on our kits this year--is that too much to ask?!
It’s an ok badge, but it’s boring and not unique. For me, it’s biggest sin is it’s just identibagde. Its design elements are just the same as all the round badge in the prem… Chelsea, city, Brentford, sheff and Leicester coming up. Like it it was over layed on top of them, it will have identical dimensions
i may feel easier on the round badge if they flipped the lion and brought in some gold. But I still don’t think it will be enough for me.
added note, I do think the lion on the round badge is superior than the Lerner lion.
Pre-match thread - not a cup final!
