First half was just superb, complete control. Couple dodgy moments in the second half but wouldn't say I was ever worried.

We are blessed to be watching this, can't believe sometimes that this is Aston Villa. Another brilliant Sunday.

We really really are and we must remember to not take any of this for granted because this is no the norm even though it is 😂

Every result like this I appreciate because we have always been a team used to losing for the last 25 years bar the O’Neil Era.

  2. Super John ‘whatever your middle name is’ Mcginn!! Go and pour yourself a glass of champagne 🍾 big man !! An absolutely ridiculously good world class performance every move and everything he did was out of this world… MOTM by a long mile.

Never thought I’d see the day i’d be asking to take off Diaby for Bailey, he was very poor today, Bailey came on and made an instant impact and looked extremely sharp. Thought we gave away the ball too easily at times in the second half but overall well controlled and tactically brilliant performance.

Tielemans needs to be more composed a little but more nevertheless a good performance from him.

Thank you boys i can go and enjoy the rest of my day now 😁

P.S Our next home fixture wont be a walk in the park

The 3-2 with Arsenal is a special memory from my youth. I was 12 and it was a day I spent with my dad. Remember hearing we were 2-0 down at halftime and the sheer jubilation when we realised we turned it around 2nd half. Genuinely thought we could win the title.

    Worth linking:

Yeah i was only 8 years old and listening to it on the radio , yes as a 8 year old its hard to think of these days doing such things at a young age, every muscle jumping to each attack , it was my brothers christening that day so left at half time and found out we won 3-2 i was ecstatic but also the famous incident where santa claus had a accident and fell from the stands at VP

Was a good interview with a majority about his Villa days. You can tell he massively regrets leaving us in 2002 as he said it many times

Collymore doesnt come across very well, apparently wasnt liked by the other players.

Was a good watch, he was the manager in charge when i first started watching at a young age, one of my earliest memories was that game he mentioned when we came back to beat Arsenal 3-2 at villa park, Didnt realise he had that cool demeanour and jokey side to him, brought back some good memories.

  5. I’d be very happy in my lifetime to see is win just two trophies , one being the fa cup and either the premier league, champions league or europa league (not conference) … felt like we should have won the Fa Cup back in 2000 against Chelsea in when i was a bouncy little ten year old that would have meant the world to me back then i was so excited watching us like jumping around everywhere gasping at every chance we had , i was in tears at the end

I felt Bailey tried to make thing happen, but he was double teamed most of the time.

I'd personally have taken off McGinn for Bailey. I felt that although Zaniolo wasn't particularly effective we had zero threat on the right as both McGinn and Cash were totally shut down. It was a poor game from both McGinn and Cash. Bailey at least provide a threat and we were far more dangerous down that side when Bailey came on.

However when McGinn moved to the left it was worse there. Only Digne provided any attacking threat, at least Zaniolo was getting into dangerous positions and asking more questions.

In hindsight the half time subs should've been Bailey for McGinn, and Carlos for Cash. Then maybe Mangala wouldn't  have even had that shooting chance. Cash was getting murdered by Elanga defensively, and did absolutely nothing offensively.

Theres no way you can call mcginn poor im not sure you have called that one fairly

I just can’t help and can’t stop thinking just how much better we would have been if we hadn’t lost the services of Mings, Buendia, Moreno and Ramsey.

The first two we have just had to accept and live with but it’s been frustrating not being able to keep our preferred/superior left side players fit and regularly in the team. Once we do, we’re going to be a hell of a lot better and our play will improve. That has been one of a few significant blows we’ve had to contend with so far…

Can’t really recall any previous teams and managers that would have dealt with such setbacks before… would have completely derailed our seasons in the past…

JJ and Moreno are exceptional and crucial to the way we play, outstanding last season under Unai.

We have to keep strengthening this team to reach our goals, at every opportunity…

Despite the flaws we have pointed out, there’s no doubt that we are a hell of a lot more resilient these days than we used to be and there’s no severe or long lasting decline or poor form as we had gotten used to… we recover and we do it strongly and impressively. The next step is consistency… more players up to standard will really help with that!

We are going to destroy another team soon…

Moreno was probably my favourite player for us when he came in his attacking link up with JJ was eye watering stuff and thats what we need right now, would be unfair to Digne considering his been playing superb for us but Moreno has been on a different level, gonna say this again but we should have snapped up Doku for the £25 million it was touted at the time we would have been a serious force had we just got both Diaby and Doku.

This loss will make Professor Unai more focused and determined that i can assure you, i want us to keep the momentum and we have some huge matches coming up which i have never felt so confident going into in my entire life,  would love to finally beat Man City especially with that bald man in charge as we have never won against his side, these top four sides we need to start coming out victorious against them, when i was younger i didnt see us beat either arsenal, liverpool and united for 6 years which was from 2002-2008 that was a shocking time as a fan as i was always geared up for those matches and we always got battered smh, was 18 years old the first time i seen us ever beat united imagine that 😂.

Now its time to change the narrative and turn ourselves into the superforce we once was and be the team that those sides cant beat.

  8. Majority of forest fans seem to have a good word about us so respect to them !

Im not overly disappointed with the loss as its not like we got rolled over it just simply was not our day yes there were lethargic performances from some of the boys but lets focus on what we have ahead of us and hope JJ comes back quite soon.

We will certainly sign at least one player in the next window.

Don’t take it personally, the lad’s been slated by many recently and it’s unfair. That’s my opinion anyway.

I believe he will improve, don’t see anything wrong with that.

Just want our players to do well and believe they can, including Nico.

Yeah i want him to do well along with everyone else and i still think ppl are still in his favour but i cant see him being consistently that great for us, may have a good game for us next week as he will know he has to step up especially being removed early in back to back games.

He's still playing out of position.  The chance he had in the first half - if he's playing his natural position on the right he cuts back, watches the defender slide past trying to block the shot that doesn't come and puts the ball in the top corner on his left foot.  He's not looking the player he did at Roma - but how long did it take for Ramsey to settle into the team and prove his worth?

You could see the sharpness with JJ though, looks its a divided opinion but we will see

Need to be patient with players and support them, not write them off so quickly. We’ve been proven wrong before…

Not always a need to single out or heavily criticise individuals after a poor performance or result… sometimes the whole team is just “off it”.

Even our World Cup winning goalkeeper cocked up today…

Its not the first for him thats my point, why is he different to the rest and i havent excluded just him today as a bad performance

Important not to overreact after one poor performance and result… mustn’t ignore all the positive and impressive ones.

Can’t win them all, we will be back.

Unai needs some better players in certain positions imo though…. must strengthen at least at RB in Jan.

These players have and will perform a lot better than they did today.

Think theres a RB from athletic bilbao or madrid we are after

Unai will sort it… these are all experiences we will learn from and improve upon. And he will make sure of it!

Was never going to be smooth or easy ride.

I do think we were poor overall though, too many players not on their game and lacking sharpness. Too easily disrupted or dominated, especially in that first half.

Wish people would get off Zaniolo’s back though… he needs some confidence, one goal and he will be flying!

Once again, it’s still remarkable how Unai has done and got us playing despite the injuries to such key players. Could have done with a few of them today.

The squad is still light and lacking in options.

JJ and Moreno can’t get back in the side soon enough… would love Buendia involved asap (will be a while)…that creative spark would be most welcome.

Hope we strengthen in Jan and keep pushing for a really successful season…

Zaniolo is not good enough Jas i know you love these foreign imports but he really isn’t the one for us or this league and yes need Ramsey asap!

  14. Forest are difficult  to beat at the city ground, as some have said we cant win them all and today i felt that this would be the day, the game as it went on just showed the home side advantages and from there i just knew it wasn’t our day.

The media this week and all these podcasts talked ALOT about us… top four this and title contenders etc , they get carried away more than the fans just over the top stuff.

Luckily we have a manager who will show them the game today and where we went wrong.

Luiz was not terrible today i think many are overreacting and need to calm down, Luiz was well below his average in the first half but second half looked his usual self, i gave the MOTM to Mcginn he looked fantastic today, Diaby and Cash were hugely disappointing as was Bailey who lacked confidence in the final third.

This is a match that was missing a Ramsey, he would have excelled here today i reckon, overall we are missing JJ, hes a serious upgrade on Zaniolo, and i dont want to hear anything about he needs more time IVE SEEN ENOUGH!! he’s nowhere sharp enough at this level, he fits in the slower pace leagues but not for Premier League, think Emery got that signing wrong but in fairness its a loan so he can return to his club.

Very upset as i would have loved to see us with those extra points and in the top 4 but knew we would become unstuck today.

That Dendonker **** up was basically a carbon copy of how we lost to Stevenage. We really need to reinforce in January if we want to keep this going because I'd play an empty pair of boots above some of the players we have to have on the bench.

Mate this is exactly what I thought of straight away i dont want him in the side again if im honest too much of a liability and im losing patience with zaniolo just not good enough, seen enough to know he doesn’t fit well with us hes too slow and makes silly decisions , wouldn’t lose sleep if we lost him to that betting scandal…

Mcginn was my MOTM today , happy for the win… couldn’t believe i was watching the Manchester derby hoping for city to drop points 😂 my club is in and amongst these teams can you believe…. I bloody love professor Emery and i love this club right now 🤝

We have a nice team spirt now and everyone is playing a part, could the danger of signing 2/3 more players which will increase competition be a negative to that team spirit and togetherness?

We shouldn’t be scared to improve our squad its needed to push on and we are only a couple of injuries short to being a average team

  17. Its amazing how so many on here were battering Emery and this side after the 3-0 loss against liverpool, many had us to be way below what we expected in addition to we didn’t have the best window and should have signed more moans… now look at us 😆.. i think we were two signings away from being legit finishing in the top 3 BUT if its rumoured to be true that 5th place will secure champions league then we must certainly be aiming for that and that for me is achievable bar injuries to key players.

True....but spare a thought for those that are being played in their positions.

Digne, Torres and Zaniolo are all playing well, which is a massive filip to what Unai is constructing.

    as you say.....Elite Manager.

Wouldn’t say zaniolo is particularly playing well thats not to say hes been terrible either but the rest of our team are a grade above which helps players like that who haven’t reached that next level up. Yes Digne and Torres progressing very well , I’ve been impressed with Digne for stepping up and showing everyone how consistently good he can be

I mean, to be fair. All of the teams used to be our bogey teams to some extent. We are like a different club right now.

Apart from man city and liverpool its extremely rare we come out victorious against those..would love to beat two out of the following three at least once this season :Liverpool, City and United …. That along with a top 6 finish would be the icing on the cake for me.
