Jimmy Danger looks comfortable at this level.

It’s not going to be friendly in the premier league!

Damn El-Ghazi badly injured.
-
I wouldn’t mind seeing some of these Leipzig players in our team.
-
Yes Targett foul and then smile

looks like one of their players is injured, serves em right for being overly aggressive all match.
Their pressure and aggression is perfect for us. It’s exactly the culture shock our players need.

£50million looking good business for McGinn atm ... runs and ducks for cover.

This is what playing against Spurs, Liverpool and City will be like. The rest not so much. Pleased with this they will learn faster. I hope we play top level opponents in all our pre-season games in future.

At least now it’s Dean Smith’s squad and not the previous manager’s 24 right backs and a few others. The game against Leipzig will give some ideas as to where we are.

It’s all about Dean Smith. I remember watching my home town Walsall all those years ago and thinking why can’t Villa play like this. If the players replicate what he wants then we will have a better than expected season.
Inevitably there will be dips. But the players really need to step up now. Tomorrow will be a good indicator of where we’re at in terms of quality. Leipzig are a decent team.
The charlton game gave me a few good looks at how they respond to pressure but tomorrow is going to be a proper test. Hopefully we can create a lot of chances if we do that throughout the season we’ll be in easy street.
Other teams can be technically better but if we out move (fitness, strength, speed) them we will compete.
I want the next week to go really fast!

I don't understand why we're still after Benrahma as rumours suggest. He would give us three left wingers (El Ghazi, Trezeguet, Benrahma) who's preferred method is cutting inside and shooting. Sign someone for the other side. Harry Wilson maybe?
Left wingers are the new right backs.

Maguire is 45 million too expensive and Bissaka by about 15million. However it’s Manchester United so I don’t give a fzzzz. Well played Leicester and Crystal Palace.

I think Brucie will do well with the Geordies, hometown club and all that. Made some good signings.

I am so glad our season starts in the second week of August again.
-
The barcodes have signed Jethro Willems too, he looks like he’s been enjoying the kebabs.

Barcelona have gone in for Hutton, Whelan and Jedinak,
Real Madrid want .... oh wait sorry my screen fogged up.
False Alarm. Still without clubs.

Instead of K1,K2 etc for our blocks they should be renamed with legends of our club. So K1 could be the Ian Taylor enclosure K2 The Billy Walker , K3 Sid Cowans . This way more of legends get the recognition they deserve.

Suso, Purslow and Dean Smith’s opinions are the only ones that matter to me as they are the ones who are overseeing our rebuild. Dean Smith obviously didn’t think the players released are good enough for the Premier League.
He is buying players he has worked with before or he has been tracking for a while. Fulham’s demise on the face of it draws many parallels to our transfer window in headlines only. Once one does some research then they will see it is in fact totally different.
All we need now is The Mystery £70 Million (?) striker/ winger so we can collectively stick a finger up at the doubters.

Rushed his pass from the very picture you provided you can see Green is 7 yards away and the defender has already lined up the pass in mind. His entire body is already showing he is making the pass into the middle. Rushed the pass
Watch the video, the defender panicked. Again one sees what they want to see not what actually happened.

If he had inho or erto in his name.
What did you mean by that then?
Sorry if I misunderstood, I took it as you dismissing peoples opinions of him because of him not having a fancy foreign name?
The point I'm making is some fans are unhappy because Heaton doesn't have a fancy foreign name so he probably isn’t good enough based on the fact we’ve been linked with two very good foreign keepers recently. One is injury prone and the other is probably too expensive (FFP) for us.
The way to look at this signing is this : Butland is imo overpriced and obviously it is for our recruitment team. Therefore a solid dependable experienced gifted keeper is available for £8million and will most likely get 8-12 points for us this season and probably next. In the meantime we can continue to look for a younger more expensive keeper for next season.
Yes Steer has done well for us. But imo he is a Stuart Taylor a Mike Oakes he is a number 2. Heaton is a clear number 1. Our younger players will benefit greatly.
If i was playing CB for Villa id rather see Heaton over Steer. For whatever reason the other keepers haven’t materialised so Heaton is a good alternative. Solid and Dependable will be good for us.

RasenBallsport Leipzig (Aug 3)
in Pre-Season / Friendlies
Posted
I just wanna say thank you Leipzig you’ve given me confidence our boys are going to be just fine. Only Liverpool, City and Spurs will play that way. The rest of the premier league are slow and turgid, we are definitely staying up with performances like that. We held on at times but we more than held our own.
Hourihane what a left foot. Grealish’s passing was good throughout he can’t beat everyone . Mings and Engels were solid.
