I think 52k is the perfect sweet spot for us. If we keep filling it up for 6/7 seasons then Doug’s stand should finally be let go and expanded.

Said before the game that sometimes teams just have another team’s number. A bit like us with Arsenal maybe.
All 3 previous games against Chelsea this season they’ve felt like the better team, despite our contrasting fortunes overall.
Tonight felt like more of the same. Whatever it is, Chelsea just know how to play against us this season
I think the 1-0 at the bridge was a very very tight game that we slightly shaded. But the others even last season they’ve created so many chances to win ten games.
Don Unai will work it out.

I think there should be a F1 style budget cap but a figure that is fair to all.

Chelsea have the 4th best overall record since the new year allegedly (?)

Oh and Come on Chelsea!

Of course but I thought winning both games against Brentford and Chelsea when leading 2-0 was a realistic possibility. I just think there are some twists and turns left yet.
I was never confident against Chelsea at 2-0 they outplayed us from the get go.

Emi 100% saves the first one. He also has the defence playing 10 yards further up the pitch. Chelsea didn’t create much first half except for pot shots. This Chelsea team like to play close to the 18 yard box.
So our defensive line dropping 10 yards helped them. Olsen seems to be stuck to his line. So him charging out for Carlos’ eff up most likely caused confusion in Diego and he probably thought wtf is happening here.

That was a good result in the end. Had they been pumped 4/5 then they could have reacted to it. But losing 3-2 after outplaying the other team is more damaging for the belief. I hope Chelsea beat them and we beat Brighton. Come next Sunday at 6pm ish we can officially be in CL.

Spurs 72-% possession , does this mean Arsenal are shit too? They’re far ahead of us in development. A few more seasons of Unai and we’ll be shithousing ourselves to 28% possession victories. But like at Chelsea last season.

IF we get in the CL, I would look at the 2 central midfielders at Wolves Gomes and Lemina. Wouldn't be too expensive, and would be better squad players than we currently have. There is a good midfield when Ramsey, Kamara, Rogers, Tielemanns,McGinn are all fit.
I wouldn't be too bothered if Luiz went tbh
Gomes is a good player. Strong and talented too. Ideal Luiz replacement.

Chelsea average 59.1 % possession for the season. It’s not a surprise to see them dominate possession against us. Ours was abnormally low but Chelsea were humiliated in the press during the build up. They reacted way better than I thought they would.

Did anyone notice Madueke’s chest? I definitely think he should be drug tested. Suspicious case of gynecomastia imo.
-
I don’t want him to leave. He will be a good player.

I think Dougie is better as a DM when he’s the middle of the three. In a two he’s better as a box to box midfielder.

There’s a few posts about CL not being the promised land and Newcastle being an example.
However we need CL due to the finances involved with regards to commercial deals etc. if we don’t make CL we simply need to sell one or two big name players.
then it becomes harder. If we make CL we keep the majority of the squad and improve on them with 1/2 quality additions and improve again next season.

Good to note that on the Sky commentary (from the two minute highlight thing they did) that the commentator says "that's a foul on Diego Carlos" and then seems amazed the ref let the goal stand initially - Andy Townsend on co-comms also backed him up and both absolutely expected the goal to be chalked off on VAR.
It's always nice to know that others can see the obvious in front of them.
Glenn Hoddle too “it’s why he did it because he knew he wouldn’t get the ball otherwise .”

It was a bit like the game last season at the bridge only difference they actually scored. Earlier this season during the 1-0 we had more ball and control.

Just looked at that stats: **** me we were shocking.
How Chelsea haven’t won I really don’t know, they’ll be kicking themselves. One of our worst performances of the season against a team who got twatted by Arsenal 4 days ago.
Unai needs to learn how to play against these high press teams, because he clearly screwed up tonight in whatever he was trying to do.
Don Unai has beaten Man City , Arsenal x 2 , Brighton, and other teams that are high pressing. Chelsea and Newcastle are counter pressing.

At least Phew! Scumchester United can’t catch us.

Our positioning at times was poor. We couldn’t keep the ball because of this and then second balls bypassed us. 9 points would have made it virtually impossible for Spurs to catch us. I think we will beat Liverpool and Palace but Brighton are due a win against us.
-
Blatant foul on Carlos but the save from Olsen was Emi esque. Very poor performance from us. We seem to be better when we play 3 games in a week.

You just said we would
I said if we tighten up our passing and cut out the sloppiness we could score 3/4.

We can’t lose this now. A point will be a decent one now.

Big chance.
