I don't think it's much of a coincidence that the players that are really dead tired right now are John and Dougie.
Mcginn has played 4600 minutes for club and Country this year (minus injury time which is probably another 400 or so minutes for us), so he's probably played 58 games this season at 86 minutes a game.
Luiz has played 54 games this season, and probably close to 4600 minutes (4092 minutes in regulation plus probably an extra 500 minutes with injury time) with just us and another 100 or so with Brazil, so probably close to 87 minutes a game.
They have done something nearly impossible and both will be over 5000 minutes in 9 months at the end of the season.

He's completely lost his forward passing, maybe it's the lack of security without Kamara but for so much of the season he would get the ball and immediately look up and put those brilliant passes in to Ollie or whoever. It's just not happening for him, it's not working with McGinn either.
It's the legs for the front 4 as well. They aren't making the runs and we aren't making the passes. Our players are dead on our feet

Having to replace Morgan with Cash just about says it all. Our squad is so weak compared to the other big teams. Not even Unai can make a silk purse out of a sows ear!
It's not that weak. It's just we have 3 AMs/Wingers out injured right now, and we are having to play one at CDM.
Anytime is going to struggle when 4 players in one position are injured and another has to play elsewhere.
And Tielemans. That's 6 players who could play in one of those 3 roles not able to play there due to injury.

Rogers clearly tripped in the box in the first half no pen. Adingra marginal contact to the upper body pen.

How's he given that and not the Rogers one in the first half.

On the other hand Bailey didn't play the ball so maybe it shouldn't be offside.

His knee looks clearly off to me.

I don't think Duran has been up to much when he's come on recently but we could really do with that enthusiasm and willingness up top.
Literally won a penalty last game

Final ball just hasn't been quite there yet.

What is this ref on?

For what it is worth I'd like us to bring back philogene. He's a hardworker on both sides of the ball and his dribbling ability is really special. And he's clearly worked on his 2nd product. Would love for him to be back at the club.

Eh ... from here
Looks very Athens-y, and I can't see anything about an Olympiacos Tavrou online other than that tournament. Has fate thrown us both together again in the same week I wonder?
Our youth team has played olympiakos before, in a tournament with Zed, Vitoria, PSV, and someone else.

No, it’s complicated, but mostly they aren’t
Only the (ludicrous) situation whereby a club may pay a players agent for work that agent does for a player would be amortised. Agent fees for work an agent does for a club, no.
I meant in the new 4.5x TV deal. You would be allowed to spend that on squad costs which is agents fees, amortisation and player wages.
Maybe as you say some of them are not counted, but we would need more details to come to that conclusion for certain.

He needs to be given an opportunity in a game vs more meh opponents and when we aren't completely under the cosh.
It's very hard for any player to come in, in those circumstances. The only game he got that wasn't like that was the ajax game and whilst he made a number of mistakes he also had a number of good moments too.

Monchi was at the Barcelona Valencia game last night.
Translation below. No idea how credible this bloke is but I doubt we'd be after Raphina though
ATTENTION #EXCLUSIVA #LCDC
@javitarre#Monchi , DT of #AstonVilla was yesterday in #Montjuic appreciating #BarçaValencia .Also not only that. The English club would be willing to offer 55M € + 10M variables for #RAPHINHA
Barca fans think we might be interested in Kounde.
He very much fits the profile of RB we might be after, can also act as 5th CB as well.

Seems very unlikely to be raphinha considering the glut of attacking players we have once everyone is healthy.
For the 3 behind ollie we got: Mcginn, Tielemans, Ramsey, Rogers, Buendia, Diaby and Bailey. Seems unlikely we will spend 55 mil on a player who wouldn't be a guaranteed starter. Or even guaranteed to be first off the bench

I think you're missing what OP is saying. It isn't "£400m on transfers", it's "£400m on everything including transfers (amortised) and wages and staff costs and buying toilet roll and..."
No it isn't. It's squad costs only - which is Amortisation, Agents Fees and Wages.

It does not include all the associated agent fees, taxes, and all the rest. It's not exactly the same thing.
Agents fees are also included.

No, he got few things wrong there. He forgot about 85% limit for clubs that don't qualify for Europe.
Also, when he says "to spend £400m on transfers" this is plainly wrong. There's no limit on "transfers"...only squad costs (wages, amortisation and agent fees)
Amortisation is tranfers

So would I be correct in thinking that the people this would really benefit would be a 'super' team if they had a bad year and finished 8th - so for example if United did that this year, their revenues would be such that they would be able to spend more money next season than they would be able to normally in order to buy themselves back in?
That would sort of make sense in terms of how the Premier league works and its desire to protect its TV show and that TV shows 'stars'.
No. It depends how this will interact with the 85% rule. If it replaces it then Newcastle are the biggest winners. Basically any low revenue team who have failed to make Europe.
If it is in addition then Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal are the biggest winners. It limits Chelsea, Cities and Uniteds spending so they can match them whilst not really having to worry about Villa, Newcastle, etc with the 85% rule.
