I'd like to know what ITK Nana Banana thinks is holding things up.
I know that Nana knows, like me, Ollie is not going to any club to play 2nd fiddle, he's only going to a club if he's the main man, and why should he not live the dream?, that could be the reason why there is a delay in announcing the chosen club, or it could be neither club will give way on the price, we have his replacement already, so there is no urgency for us to sell.

Brentford obsessions aside, I'm not at all upset about missing out on Wilson, and looks like there are some perfectly legitimate reasons why we shouldn't feel bad if he picked Newcastle over us (assuming he even did).
Back to brentford...Watkins to spurs could have been leaked by them to get us to up our offer. No quotes or confirmation any of it actually happened so could well be the case.
Not the best of games as we were missing 5 regulars away on international duty, He wasn't great was he, early days yet, but in his defense he hadn't played for a while and didn't look match fit by our standards, We have been spoiled by Watkins, but I did see some promise there and once we have him up to our speed and fitness I'm sure he will be fine and get us a few goals.
The Watkins to Spurs is all BS, he will be Villa bound, trust me.

So because Canos ( who couldn't even get into Brentfords side regularly last season ) is looking like a world beater in first round of the carabao cup ( it's effectively pre season, the pace is way off ) you think we should by him ? Jota looked like David Silva in pre season last year. Jesus wept.
There is a very good reason for that, He missed most of last season, As he suffered a serious injury in October and never played again except for a couple of games as a sub and the end of the season, this game would have done him good today and will get him back to his usual self.

I agree that’s a possibility, but looking from the outside in I don’t think Watkins seems like that sort of bloke. I think he’d want to play and be a part of an exciting project rather than a bit part player. I could be wrong.

You are not wrong, he won't be going to Spurs or anywhere as a bench warmer, he will want to be the main man, hopefully with you.

Watkins match fitness going to be way off. Anyone thinking he'll come in and hit the ground running is a bit optimistic.
No it's not, he's not been playing due to him moving on, but he's been training with the squad since the return, he's a super fit athlete who will be ready to go, his fitness will never be in any doubt I can guarantee you.
I'm just going to watch his replacement Ivan Toney play live on Sky now in the League Cup, hope he's as good!!!

That a guy called Banana says Watkins is talking to Villa reps - is just so odd that it's probably entirely true.
Take it from me you can trust "Banana" or "Nana" as he is affectionately know by most Bees supporters , he is definitely ITK on club matters as he runs our GPG website, I trust him to be right most of the time.

Either you're a good player or you're not.
Carroll has played in the Premier League for what ? 10 years? Doesn't make him a better player than Watkins or Maupay.
One of the most overrated players ever, has stolen a living in those 10 years.

What is making you so sure of him signing for Villa?
Other clubs are interested
So the press say, can you trust them?, just look at all the different prices being quoted by them, anything from £18 million to £28 million, they haven't got a clue and are just making it all up as they go along, Villa is a well supported club with a manager who knows him well, it should be a no brainer for him to join.

He hasn't been prolific in his career until last season. He clearly isn't a natural finisher.
He will work hard 100% but my bet would be he scores the same amount of goals as Che Adams this season..4.
How on earth can you base his performance and your views on videos alone, I have watched him week in week out and I can assure you that with his year by year improvement he's ready for the big step up, his time has come, as for comment that he's not a natural finisher, you will soon change your mind when he comes to you.

Brentford should be our number 1 destination for sending up and coming players out to.
We stopped doing loans a few of years ago, I think we got fed up with developing other clubs players without any reward, we scrapped our academy and went for a "B" team model picking up youngsters under the radar, that seems to work better for us, we do loan out though.

You have obviously never seen him play, except for possibly couple of times on TV/YouTube, that's not how you judge a player, he won the EFL Young player of the year with Exeter, he's now won this years EFL player of the year with us, he gets better each each move, and he's had far more than one good season.

I think you will find it's 15%, But Just have a look at this from June 2017, you missed the boat then and we nipped in under the radar, it's the same in a lot of other papers that week, just like now journalism hasn't changed he was linked with every club under the sun, nothing has changed in 3 years!!!!

I think we should report Brentford to the FA if they are demanding £28m for Watkins.
The price "quoted" is nothing to do with either club, it's the so called press that should be taken to task for repeatedly telling porkies, it appears they can't separate fact from fiction, That went in the difficult box.

Don't get carried away with all the silly prices quoted for Watkins, they are totally untrue and made up by the lazy press just copying and pasting each others guesswork, only us and Villa know the true price, and that will be kept a secret by all, I am sure that a sensible price can be agreed amicably by both parties, and it will be nowhere near these silly prices.

All this talk about Watkins but what is happening around Benrahma?
Benrahma now back in training, not being picked or played along with Watkins, it will be a mutual agreement by all as they are both on the move, the last thing the club want is for two valuable assets to get injured before being sold, I'm sure the players feel the same way, why should they risk a likely lucrative new pay packet.

Why did she downgrade to London?
Because she couldn't find anyone as handsome and dashing as me in her area, plus I was earning big London money, and that was a big pull

Sounds like she's a keeper pal. Not a goalkeeper btw.
Born and bred in Birchfield, comes from a long line of Villa supporters, but emigrated to west London over 60 years ago when I had to convert her to a Bee, so she's a genuine dual supporter, she just hopes Ollie comes to you.

@jonjon do you think Watkins is still a possibility? Just seems like it may have happened by now...
I think it could well be, but we don't actually know what clubs are genuinely interested in him, due to all the nonsense spouted in the press that makes it hard to separate fact from fiction, It also takes time, these deals don't happen overnight, be patient.

You also can't get taken to the cleaners though. Theres a very limited number of clubs that don't have to take any consideration of the concept of 'value' in their signings, and we aren't one of them.
The numbers being touted for Watkins are absurd. Sure, he might return on that fee, but how much you want to bet on him doing it? Especially when we have other positions that need money spent on them as well...
Of course they are, please remember these numbers are not coming direct from either club, they are figures picked out of a hat by click bait sites and ill informed sources living in fantasy land, When/if any deal done it will be by mutual agreement for both clubs, and will remain private, that's how the real world works, not by ill judged guesswork by the press.
