4th in the league and only 5 points off the top. That is an outstanding achievement so far, I think we sometimes forget that, when we have the odd stutter like we did against Newcastle and Spurs. I know I do.

What he has done in his tenure to date, is amazing.

without being a Debbie Downer, the clubs above us have two games in hand.

It doesnt take away from the fact that Emery is the King tho.

Superbly taken winning goal and played Konsa in for the second.

    Still can get better too!

didnt know he was a Muslim.

    cool.

  3. Emery talking in his post match about developing Konsa's abilities as the right sided CB of the 3 x CBs (ie: right back tucking in).

I wonder if he see's Konsa's future mainly in that role going forward, as in we have the attacking left back, and the Pau/Carlos/Konsa back 3 when we go forward, or whatever variation of players in that 3.

I posted in the new stadium thread. If you have a billion to play around with on a new stadium, surely you would offer the properties on Witton Lane good prices and try to acquire that ground so you could start building a new Witton Lane stand behind the existing stand like what they did at Anfield?

you can guarantee Dorris on the corner aint gonna sell her house to you for 5 million quid, so you end up incorporating here house in to the new Gabriel Agbonlahor Stand so she has a pitch side view out of her bedroom.

I guess she would set up Dorris' Terrace View, £2.5k per 4 person group, with your own retro bathroom, 1970s flowered sofa, and crumpets at half time.

I’ve seen this advert pop up a couple of times on fb and as you might expect, the comments are very critical

    IMG-4609.jpg

£650,000 and you have to look both ways just go step out of the front door. No front garden at all. They couldn’t even be bothered to level off the front of the house/road.

They really aren’t doing the new build reputation any favours.

This is the full listing for anyone interested.

    new builds are a joke.

I always remember looking at new builds when i was younger, when 95/100% mortgages were available, and it always made me laugh that you could never (at the time) get a high leverage mortgage on new build, because the lenders know the value of the new build goes down immediately after you buy it, because you are paying extra for the fact it is a "new build", so basically they are over priced, and the lenders know it.

personally i hate new builds, smaller rooms, tiny gardens, built like sardines in a can, its a personal thing i know, but i would always go for an older/better built house, even if it needs a bit of work.

Wonder what kind of points deduction they’ll get next season if they’re still in the championship.

if its a PL only charge, would there even be a sanction in the Champ?, wouldnt it just be "this is your punishment "if" you get promoted?

Not sure it is only a PL charge, just thought i read it somewhere?

  7. maybe we should just be done with building outwards, and just build upwards like in the Bet365 curling advert thingy........ :)

have screens further up so you can actually see something from the top.........no need for more land! :P

We can claim to have "highest fans in the world", and it not be illegal!

Nailed on they fluke a result against Leicester

Leicester have been pretty rubbish for a few weeks now tbh, and they have just dropped out of the automatic promotion places, after having a decent gap.

last 6 Championship games, won 2, drawn 1, lost 3.

United are shit and will not finish top 5.

They aren't though are they. They are 6th and have picked up spawny results all year

United arent the United of old, but to say they are actually s**t is a huge overstatement tbh, however much i dislike them.

Yes they are erratic, sometimes perform, and not others etc, but they are 6th for a reason, and only 6 points behind us if they win their game in hand.

They might make a mess of it in the last 9/10 games, or they might not, the problem is that you just dont know with United, they could do anything.

The thing is, on paper, their run in is actually quite a lot easier than either ours or Spurs, they have only averaged 1.7 PPG this season, which although good, isnt top 4 at all, but, with the remaining games they have, its quite possible they "could" hit 2 PPG or more for the last 10 games, which would make them a real threat if we dont do the business on our end.

Their last 10 games are Brentford, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Sheff utd, Newcastle, Burnley, Palace, Arsenal, Brighton.

Ofc, they might mess it up and buckle, but on paper, that run in....they are "capable" of 2 PPG+ from those games, if they decide to turn up.

its a huge "if" ofc, but its Manure, who knows, they could get 1.5 PPG from those 10 games, or 2.2 PPG, i wouldnt be surprised by either.

I don't know who will come out on top. I just know last time out, they got it right. Which means their engine department are good at what they do. It's just as possible someone else nails the new spec straight off the bat, in which case they get the advantage for the first few years. I just mean that when you throw the cards in the air, you create the possibility for anyone to come out on top. And when you're trying to stop the Red Bull/Max dominance, it would be pretty funny if Max jumped ship right to the people who dominated the last engine change. The odds at the very least suggest Merc will not be far away power-wise when it all starts from scratch again. The only thing we do know for a certainty is Alonso will make a terrible career decision.

Remember when Hamilton jumped ship just before the new regs and came out on top with Merc.

I wonder if he see's the same thing with Ferrari........(ie: has an idea what Mercs and Ferraris new reg development is like as of now...)

I just mean the one where Red Bull loses Newey, Horner etc, and possibly Max as a result, and then McGrath knows where it all ends up. Plus the 2026 engine rule change. Basically I don't think people will have to 'suffer' or enjoy Red Bull's uncontested dominance for much longer. Although they may have to endure Max's, depending on how it pans out.

i agree re newey, once he goes, if he ever does, it will be a game changer for Red Bull, he is clearly the best at his specific game.

With regard to the engine, do you really think Merc will have the best new era engine?, isnt the current Ferrari and Red Bull (Honda) engine better than the Merc one now?, do you think Merc will actually be the best new generation engine next time around?, does lightning strike twice?

I do wonder if Merc have lost their way a bit and might struggle even in the new regs, i wonder if they have lost a lot of good engineers etc, and just arent the same team from 3-10 years ago.

The fact merc are currently behind, or mostly level with their own customer teams (McLaren/Aston Martin), is pretty damning for them, massively so tbh, its kinda like Alpha Tauri being level(ish) with Red Bull, or Haas being semi level with Ferrari etc, its pretty poor, to the point i wonder whats going on with Merc, and whether they have the ability to turn it around.

    time will tell i guess.

That Red Bull’s dominance is turning a lot of people off the sport and something is urgently needed to make it interesting again. The powers that be will be under a lot of pressure to do something.

Even outside of Red Bull being a bit too good at designing cars there isn’t a huge amount of racing throughout the field, and they keep adding more and more shit tracks for racing to the calendar.

    It needs some urgent surgery.

thats fair, but tbh, when hasnt f1 been one sided in the last decade and had many sh*t tracks?

i do see your point, but its been an obvious problem in f1 for years, its just a little worse than normal right now?

But I can't shake the feeling we're on a precipice at the moment. One that will probably remove Red Bull from the top over the next few years, or at least it'll give F1 a huge shake-up.

The irony is, last time there was a big engine shake-up, Mercedes shot off into the distance and weren't seen again by another team for about 6 years. And who has Max been linked with recently?

what precipice are you talking about?

This guy is just the pits. Only one more tournament and then he’s gone. Remember that people. 8 years completely wasted.

thing is, who would the incompetent FA appoint to replace him?, do we actually think they will make a good choice?
