Conor shouldn't be counted at all, He's got no future here.

Makes it 4 senior midfielders and 2 youngings.

    Hardly stacked.

Just because you don't rate Conor doesn't mean you can't count Conor

We still have to pay him so he does count it's not like we can throw him in the bin cause were finished with him

But the team they have assembled is highly imbalanced

It's not that imbalanced it's just needs a proper destroyer in front of the back 4

Who that is I don't know preferably 6 foot plus would also help on set plays

Some thing like this would work I think similar to Liverpool formation

                             Emi

    Cash     konsa         mings    targett

                            Dm

           Emi2                Mcginn

    Bailey           ings         watkins

    Front 3 are all interchangeable

I'm not sure exactly where this narrative comes from but it's rubbish. No, he's not a hard tackling midfielder but that was never his role. It's like complaining Martinez doesn't score enough goals.

A few goals? 29 goals in 150 games. 1 in 5, for a midfielder. At PL level, 4 in 31 which still isn't shabby.

Important goals? Well the semi-final leveller was pretty damn vital. And a load of assists at crucial times.

Doesn't bust a gut for the team? Grealish punched in the head - Who is first there? Leeds debacle - Who is first there?

Any rumours of off-field antics? No. Considered by most an absolute hard-working professional? Yes. Not ever been happy to sit back and take the cash and never kicked up a fuss or slagged the club off.

He cost pennies and has been fantastic value. Not sure what some players have to do to be rated by fans and some become almost fashionable scapegoats for people's frustrations. He might not be at the standard we need any more, but he has done more than most to get us back in the PL and I'd struggle to think of many better midfielders we've had over the last 10 years odd.

Conor will go with my utmost respect and appreciation.

This deserved more than a like so quoted it and like it

I wouldn't begrudge him the chance to play at a higher level. (Once we win the league we can buy him back to play CL for us) He got us back to the PL and kept us here in our first season. The man has done a lot for our club, I hope he will do more and get us into europe, but if he wants to go and the club gets a lot of money for him, good luck to him.

I will begrudge him he only coming into his prime and he wants to leave,

I don't get all this bollocks that he stayed with us,

The only other bid was the derogatory one from spurs, as soon as someone puts the money where there mouth is, he says goodbye to little villa,

I hope he doesn't win a **** thing there cause once he leaves he's not a villa boy anymore

Maybe a bit of karma us beating city in the fa cup final would be nice

I would love to see Jack's face as Tyrone lifts that trophy instead of him

Did anyone really not expect us to be in the final given the teams we’ve played to get there. We are at home and haven’t faced one team ranked in side the top 10, we are ranked 4th. Bar the Germany game we have been odds on favourites to win every game. Yes you still have to beat these teams but it would’ve been a massive failure if we hadn’t got to the final imo.

And your point is what France were odds on to beat the Swiss but that didn't happen , nethersland favorite to beat the Czechs that didn't happen it's tournament football that's why England havnt reached a final since 66 doesn't matter how you get there if you win it no body will remember who you played to get there

Trust me  im irish and I know you played Germany in the final in 66 but don't have a clue who you played  other wise

This all happened in 1 season, a season that he missed 1/3 of, what the hell. You'd have to encompass 2 or 3 years for most players to get 10 mins of footage like this. What a **** player.

Watching that video makes me think what could have been this year how many good chances we missed

Grealish would have bout 30 assists

Just to add Tuchel is a horrible man and it seems his Chelsea team is molded to reflect that.

To watch Tuchel he was irksome, harassed the officials at every opportunity and bemoaned every decision with his arms outstretched.

He looked like a spoilt child.

At the end of the game you could hear him shouting at the ref while speaking to him should be banned for it

Might just be because I only really follow the Villa, but we do seem to have had more than our fair share of these types of stories. Anyone who's been to a game at VP knows that we sadly do have some toxic morons in our support.

Some kind of united message to the players from supporters, letting them know we are proud of their efforts this year and that the social media trolls are very much in the minority would be an excellent gesture

Ya that's not a bad idea some sort of unified message sent from everyone's personal account to players at the same time would be good

We might not be able to stop the abuse but we can show love for our players and team

I don’t think fans can do it alone because we can’t agree on anything plus in your scenario the victims are doing the work (victims being the players) plus you couldn’t catch all the idiots or the idiots will create other ids or do it via other social media platforms.  Social media platforms need to start using algorithms of some sort to stop hate speech.  Limpid on here uses something on here that you can’t use certain words and if you do it changes those words to less offensive wording.  Big powerful social media companies must be able to do something more sophisticated to prevent abuse, then logged and then assessed for further actions on the individual.  We need to lobby them.

I know my idea wouldn't work I was just throwing something out there

Just so disappointed in some of our fan base

As you say only the social media company's can sort it but they won't

I dont get why any fan would go on a players perosnal social media and abuse him.  Going on a villa forum that playera dont probably reas and expressing your views is not as bad.

But going to them directly and attacking them is pathetic

That's the thing there is one thing me and you debating stuff on here but what sort of enjoyment do people get going on somebody's personal page and abusing them

    It's just not on

The best we can do is lobby the social media platforms to some how moderate it.  It only has to be some idiots that tarnish it all and we can shout them down but it’s always after the fact.  We need social media platforms to help more.

I agree but how do we do it maybe some from of protest where the genuine fans have a social media black out after a game no matter the result maybe it would allow the players to block the idiots

Stupid foul by Luiz, especially after the same thing happening at Old Trafford.

Then we lost our heads and conceded again straight away.

Felt we deserved the lead at HT but once again we’ve found a way to gift them a route back into a game. So frustrating.

As for the ref... tell me that Greenwood handball is any different to Cash at Man City?! The sending off for Ollie is absolutely outrageous too. First yellow was harsh for a mistimed challenge when they’d committed 10 fouls by that point and gone without cards. The second one is just a joke. Not a penalty but never a dive either!

Voted Traore motm fwiw. Great goal.

I'm sorry I agree with all your post bar being never a penalty

That is a penalty everyday of the week in the Times we are in

If there is contact it is a pen (I don't think this should the way but it is) there was a much contact for pogbas pen

If that was rashford at the other end it would be a pen

I don't know if the refs are being bought or it's psychological but something not right it's happened to many times to be a coincidence

Its called an opinion DC its not a crime. My opinion ia based on smiths performance as manager withoutt grealish was is woeful.

'Predicting a negative future' based on smiths performance without grealish. Those are the facts look at smiths record without jack.

Ha you say smith can do no wrong but when anyone dares to criticise smith you try to shams them or say they have a agenda for daring to critise smith.

Well if you havent noticed its been going wrong for the last 10 gamss but you continue to bury your head in the sand thinking everything is good. It isnt. Improvement is needed or we will fighting a relegation battle again.

But i guess you will make more excuses its not on smith. The players not good enough, he didnt sign these players lange did, or how about blaming the villa park pitch? Smith is not above criticism accept that.

An opinion is based on fact what you have is a theory but a theory may never come true

I could theorize that we will win the league next year from our first half to the season and it has the same validity of your theory that were shit from the second half of the season

An opinion is based on facts

    There is a difference
