I can't work out where he can play in this system. He doesn't seem to do that well in the support role to Watkins or the right side of midfield that drifts central. I feel like hes most dangerous sort of on the shoulder/inside of the opposition FB/CB but he never picks the ball up there.

We need to get him and Bailey on the pitch together and when one plays support and the other RM they are almost in each others spaces. Feel they should be on opposite sides of the pitch.

I thought Bailey and Diaby played well with Duran in the middle against Ajax.

Redeveloping the Doug Ellis stand makes far more sense if there is any scope to do that at all.

Purely with the corporate offering in mind- if nothing else. Boxes and open corporate areas etc are more desirable running the length of the pitch rather than tucked behind the goal. Be nice if it freed up the good seats in the Trinity for people who actually want to watch football n'all.

Always a sickener to see the camera pan there, highlighting the vast empty spaces. Even when the rest of the ground is sold out.

I wonder if they could build a new DE stand without reducing capacity. Like Liverpool's main stand.

Went past our beautiful home on my coach journey- Mrs said my face lit up. Made me so happy when I realised we'd be going past.

No matter what happens re: stadium, Villa Park is a majestic stadium.

VP is wonderful it just needs some TLC.

  4. A bit further down from the site mentioned above but a canal-side stadium would be cool. Obviously you would need a big bridge to access the areas. Less than a mile to all the major stations in the city centre and is located near to Aston.

It's worth pointing out that, that doesn't include player sales which are counted in both this and uefa ffp rules.

And also a key part of how we operate, especially with developing and selling young players. We still have scope to build up the commercial side too.

Suprised the old Claret and Blue Gas Towers site opposite Matalan Island on the A38M has not been mentioned, Been derelict for a while now since they got taken down. Easy access to motorways, Near city centre and round the corner from New HS2 Station

Just a few units to mop up and we can have tear ups on Rocky Lane every game :D

Maybe with Betting firms being banned in 2 years Villa are lining up potential future partners, and Coca Cola have said yes in 2 years time only if champions league football is a regular thing?

I will be shocked if they sponsor us on a shirt. I could see them as a partner sponsor like Liverpool and Spurs have. It being our 150th year soon, I am guessing Coca Cola could collaborate with the club due to our coca-cola cup wins in the 90s. Creation of merch and stuff.

I think Comcast has owned SKY since October 2018. Comcast is a huge operation just Google it and see just how big.

Universal is planning a new theme park in Bedford. Comcast seem to be investing a lot in England as a whole.

I think if it becomes impossible to secure that 5th spot for the PL, then we will HAVE to focus on the league to land 4th place. We’d essentially need to throw the ECL.

We ended up imploding when we did that last time. 🤣

Scenes when these new appointments are just to squeeze in an extra 3000 seats at VP.

Surely increasing revenue more quickly with a smaller capacity increase and the creation of the warehouse will help us with FFP in the short term, while (hopefully) a bigger project in the pipeline will chain together the next phase of our growth and progress.

  11. There still has to be a business case developed for the funding of the witton station upgrades. The argument against it - is that the station is dead non-match days. The club is key for a master plan of the area imo, it is a big responsibility but leverage too.

Aren't most of those buildings factories, warehouses etc? ie, the buildings of viable businesses? How much is it going to cost to buy a dozen or more businesses?

Don't know but that is a fair point. Depends who owns it? I remember Arsenal relocating a rubbish processing plant to a site nearby to build the emirates. Arsenal are very similar to us -  as their re-development of Highbury didn't go ahead and they moved to a site close to Highbury. Arsenal had to tackle with transport issues and upgrading stations.

Surely you would get more community support for flattening tired industrial buildings, rather than bull dozing rows of houses. I don't think we would need all that land for a stadium too, we may need more land for Atairos/Comcast for their possible ventures within any new or existing site.

Jesus, are we building an airport?!

All that is needed is the houses behind Witton. With that, we could build a 100k seater.

We don't have to, and we won't, but that is enough space for expansion, hotels, bars, and whatever else they might desire.

It would re-generate the area imo. Citeh own 200 acres 🤣

Somewhere in the highlighted area. In between two stations (Aston & Witton). If the club and partners acquired all the land. This site is around 80 acres so you could build a new Men's and Women's stadium plus other assets. Perhaps adding another train stop near the spaghetti junction in the right corner.

The other names are people who work for Wes and Nassif - they aren't new in terms of what they bring to the table, the business's and interests they represent are already owned by our owners. The only new people are Atairos - they have experience in growing businesses, and especially sports/media/events businesses. It's really quite an exciting move in terms of what it suggests and the ability and experience it gives us (not to mention the finance) but in terms of construction/infrastructure development, we were very, very strong anyway.

Bashir Lebada is Nassif's right hand man and has apparently had quite a bit of impact into Villa for a little while.

It seems like the next phase is beginning to take shape and those people are now dedicating more time and focus to grow villa. This is exciting imo.

I would now be fairly confident we are either going to be moving to a new stadium or going for a much more extensive redevelopment of Villa Park to include Witton Lane.

We definitely aren't just going to stay as we are as the poorly communicated December message indicated

I agree. If I was to predict - I think a new, custom built women's stadium will be constructed located next to the brookvale academy facility. I think we re-develop VP rather than new build, it is part of the club's uniqueness. And doesn't Andy Street and the club have to justify the Witton station being re-built too, so a larger re-generation of the area will be key for funding imo.

Expansion of BMH too. How much land do we have to build on at BMH? I recently read about Ajax and Atlanta United's new training ground plans - housing facility for young players and media production studios/spaces too.

The owners aren't going to build a stadium. The money doesn't make sense. They're in this to eventually sell an asset that's markedly increased in value, and the amount of money they'd need to invest to build a new stadium would be so large it would jeopardise the return they'd get when they sell. We binned off rebuilding a single stand, we aren't moving to a far, far, far larger investment instead.

The stadium is going to get small tinkering updates and maybe some cosmetics done, the biggest thing being stuff like updating corporate and hospitality offerings and making low cost easy updates to mass offering like the warehouse idea. Cheap, fast, relatively high impact for low input stuff.

Why have Atairos joined? Surely NSWE are capable of funding everything you have suggested without the need for further investment or support.

I don't think Atairos ever had an article on their website regarding their investment in V Sports, it was just a link to the article on our website, which is still there. In fact they don't have any news articles on their website at all, all their news items are links to other websites.

They didn't have an article but they had it in the news and press release section which has now disappeared.
