nah i'm not having that. yeah it was persistent, and bloody annoying, but do you honestly think that purslow, smith etc really were like "guys we need to get this done asap...the fans are desperate...look at all these 'announce mings' tweets...just pay them what they want".

fees are getting outrageous, look at wan bissaka. teams look at deals like that and price up accordingly

Ha No of course not, Ok I may have over exaggerated but with a few million..😆 And I don’t mean from our perspective either, I agree it would have no bearing on what we would have paid, however Like I mentioned before, Bournemouth know how important that signing mings is to us and I wouldnt be surprised if fans behaving like some did added to that importance in their eyes.

It’s hypothetical,  but If we wasn’t interested after the loan spell and another club came in for him I truly believe that the price would be no where near what we paid.

  2. Agree with all of the above, and well put... I have said before that I think the valuation is nuts from a Bournemouth perspective. But Bournemouth know what he is worth to us and how much The club and in particular the fans want him. It’s probably safe to say all the social media pressure put on by the fans has added a few million to the price.

  3. Also stated that Bournemouth are still interested, but I would be surprised if they meet that.

Wouldn’t surprised if Butland puts in a transfer request anytime soon.

When Maguire is being touted at nearly 4 times that have we really been shafted?

Yes.... because like someone on here mentioned Bournemouth would have taken a 1/4 of that last January and he would not have had anywhere near the playing time, Last season.

The fee for McGuire is ridiculous also... but an England centre back who was arguably one of the best defenders in the World Cup it’s kinda justified.

  5. We have been shafted.... but £38m (ish) for Mings/Hause/Jota/AEG is pretty special so I’m not gonna get too hung up on the fee. Just glad it’s sorted. Would not suprise me if he is in the England squad come the Euro’s in which case that fee will double at least should anyone come knocking for him.

  6. I’d love this guy to sign.... but I have kinda accepted the fact he won’t.... and if it does it going to be at the 11th hour.

He isn’t worth £25m for bournemouth that’s for sure but Bournemouth know he is worth £25m to us. (That’s if the figure is correct which I doubt) so that’s why they would hang on for it..... and to be honest I can’t blame them. This market is ridiculous...

Right now if the rumours are true....i think I’d take Cahill and put our money to better use else where.

    Completely agree with this.

I expect us to start badly but improve as season progresses.I think if people are prepared for this and fans give Smith time to get things right we can avoid relegation next season.

    I concur...

as what was quoted, i am concerned with the few that will turn against Smith if we do start badly.... or when we go on the inevitable bad run. I have a feeling that performances will be decent but results won’t go our way for a while.

Id put money on it that that the management team are just as frustrated as us that signings haven’t been coming in. It sucks yes but i would rather be in this position and kinda starting with a core than still having all the players we had released turn up this week.

Wouldn't surprise me if we're currently not interested in this guy. Probably made inquiries and nothing more given the price.

This..... I have no idea how we have been linked with him in the first place (other than maybe him having a good game against us marking jack and assuming deano would want him) or even how the link has gone on for so long without a shred of evidence we have been interested. No official sources that we are in talks, bids have been made nothing. The only thing keeping this link alive is this thread I feel. Not that I wouldn’t want it to happen I think he would be just want we need..... buy me saying that is as good as any link we have had to him so far. From what I’ve seen anyway.

  9. Both away kits look Fit!!!! I’m defo gonna be tempted to buy them all season and then not, then wish I did , then look on eBay and not get my size, then probably buy a retro like I do every year.

I hate the interviews we do with new players. They're great and all that for PR, the questions that get asked just make me cringe tho.

    Oh and welcome!

Ah man I hate them!!! Rhetorical, boring, unimaginative questions.

“How much are you looking forward to playing for the claret and blue?”... blah blah. What else are they gonna answer ffs!?!... “ah not much, the colour sucks and clashes with my skin tone! Hiel Hitler!!”

That being said, Matt Target seems a nice kid... at the end of that interview I just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him everything is gonna be alright.

I think the kit will be nice. A lot of Kappa's kits are fairly smart looking.

Agree... they have made kits for most of the biggest clubs in the world, albeit in the past. Some of the old juve and Barca shirts are awesome. I’m really looking forward to what they come up with.... especially hoping they move the badge and logo further up towards the shoulder.

As for the training kits I really don’t care what they do with them, jazzier the better for me.

  12. I really don’t know what people expect from a training kit to be honest. I seem to remember people not liking Luke’s kit and moaning about the blue and yellow. I thought some of the training gear last year was cool...... and from the look of them pictures I like them.

As for people slagging off kappa as a brand saying it’s Chav etc. Can’t get more sports direct chav than Adidas and Luke even. In fact name me sports brand that isn’t “chav”. I can’t see BOSS sport making our kits any time soon.

All in my opinion blah blah

  13. Someone may have said but it’s pretty imperative we get another striker as well as Wes.... it’s a lot to put on him to come straight into the prem and start scoring goals....as it would anyone coming in without prem experience granted, but at least the burden would be shared and competition will be there.

Unless jimmy can step up, which he has the ability to, hopefully being with the big boys will straighten his attitude out a little.

    It literally doesn't.

It's a mess of light colours that looks like an indistinguishable mess from a distance. Light yellow, and a white star...on a pale blue background.  At least it's been improved now they've taken out "prepared" so we don't have the two vastly different fonts right next to each other.

It looks quite nice embossed on a shirt, close up, but from a few feet away or in print it's a yellow smudge with AVFC written over it, in a shit font.

Well I like it’s and my girlfriend says it brings out my eyes.
