You have me beat ... my first Villa game in 1960,

Legend has it, it was 1956.

This assertion makes absolutely no sense to me ... having spent all my formative years in Brum and supporting Villa.
Also by your logic, the lion should to sinister or contourné, which I have no problem with and have suggested a few times.

There are countless inaccurate “histories” of the Villa badge
Fair enough ... what was Villa's crest between 1886 and 1956?

For me Aston is in the city of Birmingham but it stands apart and above Birmingham in football terms. Any connection, suggestion or allusion regarding Birmingham just contaminates our name.
I must admit I find this a peculiar perspective bearing in mind Villa's crest appeared to be this this for seventy years.

1-7 or 1.14. Very strong favourites.
Funny ... I put it into my odds calculator and it came back at 1 : 7.5 ... this assumes a vig of 95%. This means for every 100 thousand that is bet on Villa 19 thousand is bet on Spurs

The team concedes a goal every 40 minutes, that's the stats when he is playing for Villa.
That's over 2 goals per game.FIFY

Agree ... but he is not shit either. Is he a number 2 we want to keep? Perhaps not.
I was equally panicked by our defence.
What lost us the win was not being able to pass out without giving the ball away to Chelsea.
Which number two goalkeeper would you like to have? I was curious Gauci has not been on the bench for a while? To save Gallagher's goal he would have had to be out of position.

Olsen is not as good a goalie as Emi ... not a surprise to anyone.
So it is not surprising that he does not perform as well as Emi.
Robin is not a "shit" goalie.
Today's draw is not Robin's fault unless we include the saves he made.

Well, the good news is Man United can't get fourth. Let's hope they get fifth.

Heck is the President of Business Operations at V Sports; I suspect a good chunk of time is focused on V Sports' subsidiary Aston Villa. And in turn, likely a lot of this time is spent on alleviating the fears of the fashionistas at Villa Talk.

That does rather beg the question, who was Jan Berry?
The formal meaning of the phrase 'beg the question' is to assume the answer in a question.

Why do Villa fans always look for reasons why we might not win

Coral have us evens favourites to lift the trophy and Olympiacos are at 9/1. Those bookies know their stuff, they've had us favourites since the start.
This drives me mad .... I'm sorry. Bookies respond to betting patterns and don't have some magic insight. If anything you might point to The wisdom of the crowd, where competing punters are the crowd.
QuoteAristotle is credited as the first person to write about the "wisdom of the crowd" in his work Politics. According to Aristotle, "it is possible that the many, though not individually good men, yet when they come together may be better, not individually but collectively ...

If I were the owner of Villa Park, before I did any redevelopment I would make sure it made financial sense first. Assuming it did and assuming the North Stand is first, I would look at a design that could be integrated with future rebuilds of the adjacent stands to increase capacity and hopefully profitability.
Did anybody take a look at how easily the last proposed North Stand could be integrated with future redevelopment of the adjacent stands?

show a fundamental lack of understanding of how the game works.
Bookies are not rich because of any particular game or result. They are rich because:
- People bet with bookies
- Bookies are really good at doing the math
- They take money out of the pot, called the 'vigorish" or "vig". Typically 5 to 10 percent
Now bookies can screw up if they do the math wrong, or if there is a sudden change in betting patterns ... horse racing comes to mind here and there is a slow exchange of information regarding the change in betting patterns.

9/1 for Villa to win was an insult . Wish I’d put a few quid on it
It is not an insult! It is a result of people not taking advantage of the odds.

Wow and there I was trying to defend you earlier … Have you seen spurs fixtures compared to ours - they play two London derbies in Arsenal then Chelsea followed with Liverpool and next then is Burnley, Citeh & finally sheff utd. We have Bournemouth, Chelsea, Brighton then plop and finally palace.
Which of the two would you rather have ? We’ve just beaten Arsenal for the second time this season and you hope we’ll get two more wins this season … ok

I have no problem with a lion especially a rampant contourné one. Why an element of the City of Birmingham crest?
Not really ... your preferences are clear.
