Ok I thought I'd save space by not copying 'Meme's@ Post, but................

I don't know who Rongtian He is ?  Or what Villans Ho is ? Or who CSL Club Guangzhou are (other than they are in China).

So should I be overwhelmed, underwhelmed, or just plain whelmed at the fact that there has been a great productive meeting ?

I can't answer all those question but I guessed that csl stood for Chinese super league and Guangzhou evergrande are the biggest club over there with tons of money so I don't know... It should be a really good thing but who knows what it means.

Is he going to be fit for Saturday? I know he's not been with us long but he's a big miss.

He will be fit for Saturday, then stub his toe and be out for the game Sunday. A nightmare for the lad...

Yes, it was the year we came second, 10 March 1993.

Sticks in my mind, apart from the game, because I got followed home all the way by @LancsVillan, who wanted to lift share ( we didn't know each other then). Now good buds, all down to his car pursuit skills :)

So, I had just turned 7!! Very good to know that I didn't make it up! I shall google it and have a look what I can find when the kids are in bed!

I love little stories like that and how friendships can be made... All because the villa family brings us together! Despite the disagreements I here!

I think his Dad is a doctor from Nigeria and his Mum was a nurse, which is how they met. Gabby's sister is very intelligent apparently according to her maths tutor who also tutored my daughter a few years ago. I have a feeling that there is a brother too who is doing something academic. It seems Gabby got the sporting genes and not much else!

Fun fact: they are Roman Catholics.

My take on Gabby, for what its worth, is I don't hate the bloke and I don't get the personal vitriol on this thread. But I sure as hell have no respect for him. Two reasons:

    1. I find it little short of astounding that professional sportsman is axed from the squad and told to go and get fit. That smacks of a very poor attitude and shows little respect for either the club or his fellow players.
    2. He turns down a move to Reading on loan and according to Pat Murphy Sheffield Wednesday as well. Conclusion being that he would rather collect his money and not play as he clearly has been told he is no future at Villa. Again that demonstrates a poor attitude and lack of character and mental strength.

I may be in a minority of one here but when Gabby first burst on the scene he was a good player, more pace than skill, but scored plenty of important goals for us. He worked hard on the pitch, tracked back and generally was an asset to the squad.

Trouble was his footballing ambition was to play for Villa and once he had achieved that on a regular basis he started to lose interest. I don't buy the he was played out of position argument as he did well on the wing in a number of games. Given his pace and skill he could and should have delivered on a regular basis in a wider role.

It all boiled down to attitude and commitment which we have now all seen is entirely lacking on both counts

There is a brother, charisma Agbonlahor I think it is. He was playing for  boldmere a few years ago. Don't know about him academically though.

On a wednesday night. It happened. Most one sided 0-0 I've ever seen, I think.

Thank you blandy!! That's the one. I remember being taken out of school early to go and watch (wouldn't get away with that anymore). Can you remember what year it was at all?

Not everyone is the same bud.. Some people remember every detail, others no matter how big a moment it was don't remember shit. I fall into the don't remember shit category when it comes to my first Villa match.. I put a lot of that down to being a young kid and not appreciating it enough so it just faded into every other memory from that time. It sucks but I can't remember it..

See, I remember it but I must remember it wrong! It was mid to early 90's or so and it was Spurs at home. I thought it was 0-0 and we battered them and Colin calderwood cleared on off the line with an overhead in from of the holte... But u can't find it so I must be wrong!

  7. AS the speculation thread is closed... Thought I'd put his in here. Momo sissoko is available on a free, would anyone take him on a free as an option in the centre of our midfield? I know flamini is available but I get the feeling he will get a contract in a top division somewhere, perhaps serie A.

I couldn't tell you who we played against or what the score was from the first 100 or so matches I attended.

    I should also be committed.

I thought I could remember the game/score from my first game but after looking for it on google and not finding it then I think I got it wrong!!

I fundamentally disagree with the thrust of this for a number of reasons.

Agbonlahor may very well have acted in the way you mention,  in addition the vast majority of those posting on here at least do not want him at the club and would agree he is stealing a living currently.  But this is not tit for tat.  Aston Villa football club is his employer,  we owe him a duty of care to act responsibly, professionallly and with respect in our dealings with hi.  Even is he does not.  The club has to be above that for the sake of him,  ALL current employees , and any potential future employees.  To resort to the level you have described does the football club no favours at all in my opinion.  Two wrongs do not make a single right

Yes, and of course you are morally right. And of course the club has to be professional in the way it responds to gabby. I just hate his awful attitude and probably went over the top. We all would love to be in his position and he's taken it for granted, I just can't get my head round that and want him punished for it.

    No.

Im just saying I don't think we will get promoted with him as he won't be able to mould this set of expensive players into a team. If he can great - happy to be wrong. He has to be given time to fail.

Or, with our positive hats on, time to succeed.

Can we tell him that he's not welcome at bodymoor or villa park? Don't let him train, be anywhere near anything villa and see what he thinks in January if reading come calling!

Or, even better, get him into bodymoor and do nothing but run from when he starts to when he finishes training. No ball work, not with the kids. On his own, running laps of a training pitch. Make him earn his money. Force his hand to want to leave us. Be absolute words removed to him like he was to us.

Don't know. Im just saying IMO that newcastle have a better manager than we do - and that makes them more likely to get promoted.

You moan about RDM a lot, so surely you must have an idea on who'd you like to replace him with?
