Can you imagine the unbridled joy of seeing Alison Brie playing centre forward. In a claret and blue bikini. That is too small so that her boobies keep falling out.

Just the one time would be fine.

    Sorry. Impossible to imagine.

    She plays centre back.

People make comments like these, wishing ill for someones life, about a footballer, based on being a football supporter, and don't realise that they in fact MUST be a word removed themselves.

I really wonder how old some of these lot are, upon doing a little research, I realise they are actually newbies.

    :crylaugh:

I agree with this to an extent. I do think people go a little over the top when they don't like a footballer. Whether a player is good or not is usually a welcomed debate, but it does cross a line wishing them misery in their life. He is a footballer. You think he sucks? OK. Move on. Its not like he stole your job, shagged your missus and ran over your puppy now is it? If he did however, by all means, unleash hell. Lets just keep it in perspective though.

If we can get rid maybe he can be the club chauffeur and spend hi time driving these players we are getting rid of to their new clubs. I mean we always say we'd drive them ourselves but if he did it it would save us the trouble and petrol money

He would make an awesome Uber driver. How he defends, he at least knows how to give way.

    Cheerleader.

He has got the 180 degree spin and arm flap down to a tee.

Yes. He has a good physique, and he has the moves. Maybe he can get tips from Chippendales? I am sure he can do anything if he wants.

Just nothing to do with stopping things.

I'd use Richards as my defensive RB and play Adama in front of him and tell Richards to sit and just let Adama stay up front but still think we need an all round one who is a good defender but can also contribute attacking wise. If Bacuna could defend it'd be him. He created a lot from there and I thought with coaching he'd come good unfortunately not!!!

Richards could be useful somehow, just not as a footballer.

All hail Xia. It's almost as if last season didn't happen and we are suddenly full of hard working individuals. Amazing work.

Yes, last season did happen. There was a lot of forgettable football, but there are 2 things which are unforgettable. We were relegated, and the January transfer window. The first half of the season was full of a lot of that forgettable football, and so we were at the bottom of the table. Urgent intervention from the owner was desperately required. After the previous 5 seasons of apathy, of simply being content as being part of the Premier League, we needed the owner's help. After many seasons of silence, rarely bothering to go to games, and appointment of his own cronies, it was his one big chance to save his club. What happened during January? He played his fiddle while Villa burned. Not one transfer, despite what may have been promised to Garde. Even though he was no Carson Yeung or Cellino, Randy was still a bad owner.

We now have Tony. Time will tell whether he will be a good owner for us or not. It  depends on what we are measuring him against. He hasn't been around long enough for a game to be played yet, but we have seen a reasonable amount of action from him. At this stage, I am happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. At least he is not Lerner.

Fair play to DDID for holding his hands up, a lesson in the dangers of hyperbole.

Hear hear. I am still a noob here, but I would certainly would have been someone praising his arrival too.

I might get shot down for suggesting it but I would like to see us sell Ayew (caveat: if we use the money well). My logic goes something like this: Goals are something the team has struggled with for a longtime. To be realistic challengers we need to score a lot more goals than are currently in the team on paper and McCormack can't get them all. Ayew and Grealish both play either on the left or the number 10 role - neither bring a lot of goals to the table and so I don't think we are a realistic challenger with both in the team. You would expect both to be in the first team at present. I would prefer to keep Grealish and sell Ayew and use the money on (for example) Bamford (who cuts in from the right) and has a better strike rate at this level. Any thoughts?

What McScoremack brings to the party is not just his ability to score goals, but his ability to provide assists, which is just as, if not more impressive than his ability to score. The past season, we have had a serious lack of enablers as we played literally and figuratively pointless sideways and backwards football. I am expecting more goals from the likes of Rudy once he finds his feet ( Hint: Rudy, they are those floppy things at the end of your legs. FFS use them.), and Ayew especially, with Grealish and Tish to occasionally chip in, as R Mac will hopefully provide that creativity.

AJ. I fully agree with you in the transfer speculation thread. In case Gary Monk or any Leeds fans should lurk, I just want to say that signing Lescott on a free is an absolute steal. To us fans, this man is on a par with McGrath , Mellberg, Laursen. His determination, commitment, will to win, second to none. He will be your new Radebe. As the link hit the news, I personally was troubled at the prospect of losing Lescott but should he go then despite his age, you'd be signing someone who goes above and beyond in every game and worth every penny of his wages. Such is the respect I have for Lescott, himself a Villa fan, and all he has done for the club, I would even drive him myself, free of charge, to any medical. I have a lot of boot space in my car if necessary.

    Spoiler

As long as it doesn't backfire. If Tony reads this, he might fight to keep him. What might seem like nth degree sarcasm to an unaware Villa fan, actually has intent. It is quite common practice for fans from rival clubs to peruse our forum to gauge our reaction to the possibility of losing one of our players to them, and then making a decision if it is a good bit of business. If they are silly enough to get sucked in, they may even pressure their club to get it done, making us very happy. The same mad method was done for someone else, I cant remember, so probably no one important. Oh, and don't bother driving him anywhere, he has got a brand new car.

I started this thread so by rights I get to decide to burn it to ashes when he's gone right?

If you lot want to start another thread to discuss his progress feel free. I'll be done with him.

Just went back and read the first page of your thread. Its funny how the pendulum of opinion swings.

How DARE you, Leeds?! You are a great and mighty club, but this sort of thing could make you a bit unpopular. Super Joleon has been one of the best defenders we have had at Villa Park, and you want to simply pinch him off us? His skills and commitment to the club are without question, and if you were to take him, you would break every Villa fan's heart. He is sure to make your defence rock solid and guarantee you promotion back to the Premier League where you belong.
