I won't be going to all of the European games if they're £50 a pop. The first one back maybe, then later knockouts.

im hoping they will be more sensible , ive already spent close on 2k on season tickets for a family of 4 if a game against some team ive never heard of will be £150 i'm out

What was going on around kick off? We were still warming up when Walsall came out. I know it's the first game of preseason but that's a bit too casual.

Decent run out overall. Moved the ball around well in the first half but a bit toothless up front. The kids injected some energy into the game when they came on and we played better after that. Looked shaky from corners though.

    Team coach was delayed

  3. I'm not convinced , he scores goals and finishes very well and i think he will go on to have a good career. When he doesn't have chances made for him and a bit more is expected i think he is some way off at this minute , in Emery we trust but i fully expect another striker to be coming in.

I’ve never tried to get tickets to a preseason friendly, generally how difficult is it and what’s the process? Thanks!

The away games are usually ok to get , the games against walsall sell out in a couple of hours and don't go past season ticket holders a lot of the time

Is it generally quite hard to get tickets to the Walsall game? Weirdly I actually go to see Walsall a fair bit (more than Villa actually). Would look to probably just sit in the home bit. Does it sell out? I ask because I usually can’t plan that far in advance for football games.

They tend to sell within a couple of hours for villa fans , usually plenty in the Walsall end

The Alexander stadium? How can Villa propose to do anything to an athletics stadium that is the home of Birchfield Harriers and UK Athletics?

Sounds a terrible idea to me. It's bad enough that there's apparently going to be some rugby played there next year. It's an athletics stadium, it's what it always was and what it should always be.

Sadly for the athletic side of it Birmingham city council will take whatever offers the highest income I would imagine

This is definitely something that's been talked about - having to show your ticket to get into the car park, but converting it to something like an outdoor box park experience for Holte Enders - the problem is where to put the parking.

its seens to have worked at the side of the trinity , gets so busy its difficult to walk through sometimes

The North Stand is very likely to be with us until at least the summer of 2024 - we may see some preparatory works this summer, with maybe the academy or ticket office building going - but it's very unlikely that the North Stand will go.

These increases will get nowhere near to paying for the new stand - Nas and Wes still pay for the big stuff.

The North Stand re-zoning will put a big pressure on the people who sit there, although I think it might be possible for them to simply relocate to the wider areas of that stand and not have too much of a change.

The changes to the Upper Holte End might also have an impact, if you're wanting access to the new lounge you can expect to be paying for that, if not, you'll have less space to grab a pint pre-match.

my bad thought it was going this summer

I get we have to be competitive but my season ticket is a family ticket 2 adults 2 kids.

2 years ago it was £840 for 4 which was a bargain.

Went upto to £1100 with a discount for the increase last season but we moved more central in the upper North Stand.

Reading that it's now going to be £1760 for the same seats.

This is due to moving my seat from zone 4 to 3 and putting 15% on plus there are no family packages in zone 3.

I will wait for it to be confirmed but yes there will be a few people giving up season tickets.  If I am one of those remains to be seen.

likewise i was paying £840 , they changed the category of seat so lost the family ticket and went to around £1500 , so could easily be paying £1700 this season , ive had them tickets 10 years and elsewhere in the stadium for 35 years.

  10. thought there were signs against bournemouth where the crowd started buying into the new style .There was a moment where there were maybe 30 passes that went all the way back and was loudly applauded , we really need to buy into this style of play.

Carla Ward has riled up a load of Arsenal and United fans for basically saying our attendances are genuine supporters unlike other clubs who give away free tickets.

I’m undecided to be honest. Our attendances aren’t great really, especially given how good a season we are having. Giving away some free tickets to grass roots kids teams across the region wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. She says the argument against it is that you then lose support when the tickets are no longer free. The counter argument is that some of those kids might nag their parents to take them again.

until recently it was free for season ticket holders , could be that some clubs still do this , thatr would bump up attendances a fair bit
