Hi All, long time lurker here.

Whether you agree with the type protest or not (and I'm sure we all agree something has to change) it's now garnered national media attention, if it's a half hearted effort it & us as a fanbase will look silly. Could some people not put aside their own personal opinion for 8minutes just to stand with your fellow fans and make a statement, even if as I said you disagree? As it's Liverpool in town the vast majority of the people sitting in the Holte come KO time will be local Liverpool fan's anyway day tripping with their Villa friends, what a better opportunity for them to stand there for 8 minutes on national tv looking like the glory hunting vermin they are?

Why should people put aside their own opinions? I'll be sat in my seat at 3pm as usual , others should do as they see fit as well

Nothing like a bit of solidarity amongst your fellow fans to reaffirm your faith in them, for the sake of the fanbase not looking stupid now that the national media will be focusing on it, are you seriously telling me you can't put aside your opinions on the type of protest for jus 8 mins to say as a fanbase we're not happy? I can see us being the object of ridicule come Monday morning because of large portions not protesting, completely disregarding the suitability of the type of protest aside, I find not standing with your fellow fans quite selfish tbh. I bet half those who play the "I've paid for my ticket so I'll get the full 90" card are the types who head inside for a pie and a pint after 38mins anyway.

They know we arent happy , if we are the object of ridicule it will be caused by the protesters , not by me , you accuse me of being selfish , i find it more selfish that you expect people to do things just because you want to. Im certainly not a "ive paid for my ticket ill get the full 90 min" type , im more the support my team for 90 minute type thankyou very much

  3. But in all seriousness we must be the least desirable club in the Premier League right now.

A declining set of disillusioned fans, an absent owner who'd sell tomorrow if it would line his pockets enough, a brand of football that is quite frankly soul destroying and a Manager who seems to have no idea whatsoever on how to get the team to create a decent goalscoring chance let alone win a game of football.

Our three 'best' players are nailed on to leave in the next 6 months, there's a bloody good chance we'll get relegated and Birmingham's a shithole.

I may have gone too far with that last comment, sorry.

Man from stoke in criticism of Birmingham shocker :o

The Villa own Staffordshire too! Seriously though, how can anybody write negative stuff like that and believe it!? The last comment is golden - "I may have gone too far with that last comment, sorry". :)

Jeez, it was fairly tongue in cheek ya know!

Though Birmingham is a shithole, just as Stoke is although I'm not from Stoke, I'm from Newport which is probably the biggest shit tip of the lot

    I had realised[emoji6]

  5. Its a little dilusional that all we get from Lerner is shite managers. Ok we had Mcleish, but at least lerner realised the first season it wasn't going to work. But previously we had O'neil when he was hot property, Houllier, ok didn't work out, but a top European manager and then Lambert who was again the next big thing although we know how that gonna end.

To be fair oneill was appointed by deadly
Oneil signed because Ellis was going. He came cos he knew Ellis was off. Although Ellis was here when he signed. I know that oneil had been approached by Lerner and his team and agreed deal. Don't believe me if u don't want to but we had contact with lerners advisors and dinner with them night before takeover was announced officially. But yeah in a roundabout way Ellis signed oneil.
Doesnt change the facts my friend , ellis was chairman for the first 6 weeks of oneills tenure

No english, scottish etc managers, we've seen so many times how limited they are.

Our next manager needs to be from the continent who would bring new way of thinking instead of the stuffy and boring coaching style.

Possibly as disaster bringing in a manager with no premier league experience at this stage of the season
Yes, heaven forbid we should get lumbered with someone with no PL experience like Pochettino or Koeman.
As they would come here of course , we would end up with someone like pepe mel

My point is the whole 'must have PL experience' is an absolute load of tosh as is proven by the foreign managers currently in the PL doing a good job even though they had never managed in this league prior to coming here.

My point would be how many of them came into this environment , no money , failing team , 15 odd games to stay in the league , i'm not casting doubt on foreign managers , i'm saying i think it would be a mistake in these circumstances

We have some money, not a fantastic amount granted, but we have some. The reason the team is failing is because we have a very poor manager, it is as simple as that. 15 games equals 45 points to play for. A decent football manager employs the skills of being a decent football manager not the skills of being a decent PL manager.

We will have to agree to disagree then my friend

  11. Read that Liverpool want benteke (15 million) and delph , I personally think 15 is too low but what would people take for benteke and would you sell based on recent performances ?? And invest in who ?

No not at all , he has been poor but still instrumental if we are to stay up

  12. Wether he is worse than Ellis is pretty irrelevant to the current situation .Lerner is destroying this club , on and off the field , time to back or sack the manager .This needs sorting out quickly before we become the next wolves, i have no confidence in coming back up if we do go down with Lerner at the helm.

Expectation of this guy already way too high on here , i believe he has only ever made 8 first team appearances for the valencia team

I know nothing about him so my expectations are pretty much zero, but the 8 appearances for Valencia is because he's been on loan at Elche for two seasons (and made 64 appearances for them)

So it's not like he's been sat in the reserves at Valencia for 2 years.

No i accept that , half of them for Elche would have been in division 2 as well , the point i was trying to make is that some people put huge expectation on players after seeing a few clips of them , when in reality i suspect he is pretty much unknown to most of us.

  14. Our ticket office department has took a bit of a battering on twitter tonight after avfc twitter account said anyone who wanted tickets to see the game should arrive early to ensure they get tickets.

The online ticket office has been down all day , really not helping matters

  15.

What's our lowest ever attendance? I'd say this game could set a new record.

    about 12k i think

I'm sure i remember playing SHA at villa park in the late 80's early 90's in the simod cup and there being about 7k there , think it finished 6-0

  16. The reality is that all Lerner will see is that we are 12th in the table , so in lerners eyes he is doing the job asked of him , he doesnt have to watch the woeful football , Lambert isnt going anywhere until at least the summer.
