  1.

Could be the final nail in the coffin for him unfortunately. Today was nowhere near good enough.

I agree. He's a talented footballer, but if you're a central defender you need to know where the attacking players are in the box, and not let them run around without following them. Basic stuff which he's had long enough to learn. Does anyone who's watched the second goal again disagree?

Just watched it again i agree with that , from the angle of the holte it looked different

there is no point in making him into a scape goat, only defender who was any good today for us was Hutton

All the defenders, including Sissokho, were fine, except the one who seemed to say "on you go Danny, you run along over there and I'll just stand here with my back to you".

Apart from Sissokho playing for Newcastle instead of defending for us and then changing his name slightly and scoring a unlucky but needless own goal.

It wasn't completely needless. He needed to get a touch on it. Just not such a perfectly-timed heavy touch. (I promise to research the correct spelling of his name and return to VT the better for it).

Looked to be heading well wide from where i was sat

  3. Im not quite so sure what the fuss is about this lad so far, Im unsure why the whole fanbase seem to think hes the answer - the times ive seen him in a villa shirt (albeit very limited) and certainly apparent in the First friendly and last night at Walsall, he looked shaky to me........ doesnt get touch tight, missed his headers and hes all shoulders n shinpads....... I personally think were pinning our hopes on him and he doesnt look the part to me............... Hopefully, its down to rustiness after a bad injury........... i just dont share the optimism that most do......... in my opinion of course

Pretty much my opinion last night , got beaten a couple of times and had to be saved by Hutton

  4. Too early for Vlaar!? We're kicking off at The Brittania in less than 2 weeks, yes he played in a WC semi-final but wasn't that almost a full month ago now - body should have had plenty of R&R and raring to go!

Re. Parking @Becscott, it's actually situated on a retail park with a few shops and McDonalds, but I wouldn't advise going on there unless you dont mind waiting ages to get away after. There's plenty of 'road parking' in surrounding streets, just don't go too far afield! Unfortunately my car is covered in Villa so will have to park at my sisters, can't be too safe in Walsall!

Was aware of the retail park , though was advised that they have clamping sprees on football cars , ill just make sure im early-ish , thanks

  5. Before yesterday i was optimistic , looking at the compeition for places i thought a 10th - 12th place finish was possible , but yesterday was as bad as anything last season.Worried now that a slow and difficult start may set the rot in 5/10

Would have been watching on AVTV but the promo code for season ticket holders isnt issued until the season tickets are , poor show if you ask me

Last pre season if you had purchased your season ticket you could email them and they would give you the code early. Would imagine the same this yr.

will give that a try thanks

  8. Just bought a family season ticket for next season for the first time in many years , i believe it allows you to access the matchday lounges , is there a charge for these? I also have to email my kids birth certs in before they will send the cards out , does anyone know the correct email address for this? Thanks
