Didn't think that was the terrible. We had some chances. Luiz totally off today and the high line not pragmatic against Liverpool

Mate that was a shocking half . We could be 5 down , they look like scoring every attack we’re toothless

Was/Is at his best when he has people running around him.  Ramsey last year got on the end of two, honestly wonderful passes which he put away really well.

We haven't seen that Ramsey for a while this season and McGinn doesn't play like that.

We need to get Bailey involved as his pace and movement will make space for him to thrive.  I'd put him and Buendia behind Ings/Watkins as a sole striker because it's a mix of technique and pace.

    I don't think we'll see it though.

But as his peak at Liverpool, he had an energiser bunny in Suarez belting around him.  Watkins and Ings play as "selfish" number 9s.. They won't chase lanes down, they want to occupy the same space as Coutinho does.

He's a wonderful footballer and I hope we can see the best of him.  He's only 30, it's not all over for him.

Disagree about Watkins - he runs the channels non stop for the benefit of the team far from selfish.  I’m struggling to see a spot for him .

Gets a total free hit this season, it’s already a write off - not in terms of the points tally - but rather in terms of fragility and uncertainty and

Just steady the ship and not get relegated and he gets 12 months of ZERO criticism from me.

Lol a free hit , have a look at some of the the quality threads on this forum . 😁

  4. Well not what I was expecting yesterday , the crowd really stayed with the team , and the team fought and ran for each other .
Man City will not  draw or loose many games so the set up yesterday was appropriate. .

The test now is setting the team up for the games to follow .

He's never really got going at Villa, he seemingly refuses to sign a contract and there's one year left.

For all potential he may have, we can't turn down £20m if it's on table.

I'd take it. Probably ask for Milner for a year to add some experience, organisation and bite to the midfield.

But Villa are feeling quite 'done' now and there's a real danger of us completely crumbling away.

I think we have to keep him even if he doesn’t sign. I agree with some other posts that without a quality replacement we’re very light in midfield.
alarming thou that we have another player who was happy but now looking to move on . It stinks .

You will notice at the start of the game the fans will be thoroughly behind the team in the stadium.

If the team gives them something they'll stay that way as well.

There lies the problem .  They don’t at home , we initially offer some support but as soon as a stray pass or the opposing team score VEP can quickly turn  toxic .
There was a time VP crowd stood behind the team and was the 12th man , these days are long gone but social media forums create negativity and this in turn manifest it self in the VP atmosphere. Supporting your team match day means supporting positively, or maybe I’m to old .
Away days are the exception I would say .
im not reading anymore VT before the game as I won’t go or will turn into a half pint empty fan constantly moaning about everything from SG haircut to the Balti pies being to hot !
    villa 3-1

    VTID

  7. I despair at some of the content of this thread . Just hope the mood don’t find it’s way into VP tomorrow, and make the atmosphere even more toxic than usual.

There is Always Hope this is a exciting time to be a villa fan I’ll be in the Holt singing for a tight Villa Win .

It’s a bit like how you feel after a draw. If we draw 2-2 but we’re winning you feel down, if it’s us that makes the comeback then you feel much better. Although personally draws generally make me feel a bit meh. Depending a bit on the opposition. Win, draw, draw in the next three games would feel pretty good.

Win draw draw still wouldn’t be enough ! 😉

He’s a bit of a spiky b*****d when he really doesn’t need to be at times…

I don’t put too much faith in his words, heard it all before.

More concerned by what we’re doing out there in games and it’s been so poor, more action less talk please.

I thought he talked open and honest , was concerned by the other elements comments behind the scenes to make things right . It takes time Most of us agree but that comment leads me to believe not everything is going in the right direction behind the scenes.
