I like the combination of green and white hoops. Always preferred it to a vertical stripe myself.
Agreed. Real Betis. Croatia's checkered strip was always my favourite, to be honest.

We lost 8-0 a couple of seasons ago, is the Premier League not a real league?
We might not be a real team? That Chelsea game was Lambert's rubicon. He drowned.

In midfield with Senchase, just in front of Julian Lennoncott.
I wish we had Bryan Griggs.

West is playing according to LiveScore. We're not even worth accuracy anymore..
How old is Taribo West now? Must be worth a punt on a free? Randy?

I'm happy to give this chap a chance. Any appointment Randy makes will be questioned - especially when this looks like a cabinet reshuffle to placate those who feel Randy is too 'hands off' and install somebody who, you know, is meant to do the job on a day-to-day basis.
The curious issues for me are: how is this post actually recruited? This guy has come from nowhere. Secondly, why now? Why not at the start of the season? Has Randy fallen even more out of love with the club? Is Hollis a lightning rod? And, thirdly, how will transfer business be dealt with from now on? Do people have to keep flying to New York with a wishlist and a happy look to get Randy to part with cash or is Hollis able to spend a set figure?
As normal with Villa, this raises more questions than answers. Welcome Steve: you're in for an f-ing bumpy ride. Oh, and your boss doesn't give one sh*t about the organisation you now work for. Joy.

I hope the lazy press don't feel this is all a result of that goalkeeping error. We've deserved this.
-
Dear Randy,
This absolves you from nothing. I will continue to support those who wear the shirt. They're putting a shift in today. Give them a hand and give a sh*t.
Best wishes,
A. Villafan

Counter goal? Ayew? If only Gil has some fuel left.

Rooney has put United up again.

Ward? A yellow? No, surely not?, FFS. About time.

I get the impression that Garde is afraid to skew anything here by bringing a sub on. It's so finely balanced.

My heart hurts. Please. I'd explode if we scored again.

Wall did its job. Come on.

And Ray Wilkins. Don't forget Ray Wilkins.

Was the meeting in New York about getting cash to pay off Hennessey? What a gift.
Please, level heads, gentlemen.

What's happening?! I don't know how to react.

Word f-ing removed!

Libor effectively has one leg and a splint made of glue and Kleenex and he's still more mobile than Rudy.
No one nobble him. No one!

I don't mean to state the obvious, but, my god, a goal would give these boys such a boost.

I'm not a fan but he's deserved a chance now. Wonder what this means for January.
Fascinating. Remi's admitting defeat in th search for a new striker? Or is Gestede being punished for his potty mouth post-Wycombe (in addition to his fondness for the penalty spot).
-
Maybe one of Remi's 'the board know what I want' points was 'let me play Kozak to see what he's like'. Have the board relented?
Randy will put his hand in his pocket to pay Lazio an extra 50p to let Kozak play a handful more games for us.
-
I remember someone saying on here in the summer that so many new signings would be either a spectacular failure or a massive success. We know the result, now.
However, adding more players to the mix might not help us at the moment. Our January loans up to this point, in previous years, have been woeful.
Frankly, though, the players we have at the moment have shown very little so what else can we do? Bring new players in: morale drops in those who came in the summer and it signals an admission of failure of the summer transfer policy. Don't bring any in and the fans and the management feel they aren't being supported by the board.
This is a window where we need to build for next season, as well as get players in on loan who might spare some of our blushes this year. The former is the priority, though.
I'm more concerned about what kind of bonkers clauses the board will add into any new players' contracts. Any deals like Kozak's (which presumably has some kind of 'pay Lazio extra money if he plays x games') will be disastrous. These policies are tying the manager's hands before the players even come in.

Today was not a surprise. Gutless. It was only the 'superior conditioning' of Premier League fitness that got us out of jail to get a draw. That's how garbage things have become.
Really, though, what is avfc about nowadays? We stand for absolutely nothing. It was like when Liverpool kept banging on about how classy a club they were but then, behind the scenes, they were tapping up players left, right and centre and buying land that should have been used for low cost housing. When there's no philosophy, no heart or idea in a club with the history of ours, then I'm sorry but we're f***ed. We'll be treading water, at best, for years to come.
Before Klopp turned up at Dortmund, they'd lost their way as a club, removed themselves from the working class roots that had basically formed them. The Villa we are watching is totally devoid of anything. Lerner and a Fox bang on about understanding the history of the club. Reading a book doesn't mean you were there. This is the gentrification of football and its seeping into the team (I use the word 'team' rather loosely).
They have no idea that what we want isn't necessarily Barcelona every f***ing week, but a team who turn up to do their jobs and give everything for it. That's what Birmingham as a city, and the West Midlands as an area, is all about.
Veretout gave an interview the other day when he said about the history of the club. Give the, all a damn history lesson. Show them Shaun Teale, Kevin Richardson, Peter Withe, Paul McGrath, Martin Laursen, Olof Mellberg. Show them people who gave a sh*t.
Resolution: play the f***ing kids and people who give a damn.
