Genuine question here, for arguments sake & we agree a fee would he even want to come here? Is working with Sherwood again the only real draw (besides a starting role) to getting him here? Surely teams further up the table would also be in for him if he were leaving.

Townsend will be excellent for us. Exciting player who blazes past players and shoots. Yes he can miss but so does every other player who shoots from distance. We do not have 1 player who has his level of skill.

I do hope and pray you are all correct, just imo is rather Sinclair that's all and not sure about the asking fee either

Don't you just love how the transfer window divides us all? Yet ultimately not one of us would ever boo a player for our team, I love it

I also love the fact you moan that Townsend hasnt played enough games for Spurs to be a good signing and then next sentence im SInclair is a better option

To everyone who thinks that Townsend is the saviour! How much do you think he'll want to come to villa? 60-70-80 thousand a week??? Again another player who will command a large weekly wage. Get rid of nzogbia and his 50k a week and get about her liability who will want more. Sounds like great business......not!!!!

Since when does a player who starts less than 1/3rd of his clubs games become a good signing for us????? In my opinion given a full pre season I reckon Sinclair will be a far better player and somebody who won't need bedding into the side either

Think you'll find from my previous posts that I am in fact in the correct thread and as you quoted me i would presume you read the previous post where it was mentioned about Sanchez?? And as I put in a previous thread about vlaar that he had a good World Cup because he was looking for the Man Utd move, that was hampered as he limped off v hull right before the end of the transfer window.

As for Townsend he isn't what we are looking for, we have grealish and Sinclair, what we need is attacking prowess not someone who shoots on sight!!!!

Did you see Sanchez v Brazil, he was awesome and marked Neymar out the game and frustrated him that much that he's now missing the rest of copa america, with a good preseason Sanchez can carry that form for us

Townsend is a one trick wonder, pacey but can't cross we'd be better off using Sinclair in that role and bolstering the midfield with some one like Alexander Meier
