  2. All depends on whether the club what a quick appointment or not as I'd suspect Moyes and Pearson to wait until what's available at the end of the season. Think if they want quick appointment I can see it being Gary monk.

  3. If the club say he is going - in advance of agreeing remis pay off - then he is in a strong position to get a better payout. Probably the club are banking on the fact that Remi wants out so are only offering a small pay off. With no game this weekend - both sides can play hardball - as the next game approaches - I don't think Remi will want to take charge.

I think your bang on there. I too believe he wants out and the club are using this as their bargaining tool and he's probably thinking if I walk I get f@*k all but if you sack me I get 3 yrs salary. Can't blame him really, the French are stubborn.

  4. I wonder whether the potential manager(s) we may have sounded out are unwilling to come to us or unwilling to join us until this season is over?

If Remi is not a dead man walking I would have expected the club to have given him the dreaded vote of confidence by now to end the speculation for a week or two at least.

Hence why I believe this is just pure speculation. If you listen to the words from David Bernstein and Brian little they speak very highly of Remi Garde, hardly a case of a dead man walking. I think he is here for the long term as Steve hollis stated in his interview that this club lacked stability and one are he pointed to was managerial changes. That makes me think they won't be so rash to change this time given the circumstance Remi took over. And maybe just maybe give him a chance to get rid of who he thinks is dead wood and re build.

  5. Looking likely now:

    http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/aston-villa-are-signing-hadjuk-goalie-lovre-kalinic-for-e6-5m-slobodna-dalmacija/

According to Croatian newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija it’s a done deal.

Aston Villa are signing goalie Lovre Kalinic from Hadjuk Split for €6.5m.

The first observation about Kalinic is he’s tall: 6ft 7in.

Villa have been linked to the  25-year-old keeper for some time now, and apparently the clubs have now reached a final agreement.

Slobodna Dalmacija report that Kalinic’s agents are to receive 30% of the transfer fee, with the rest of the money going to the Croatian club.

The players still needs to formalise some work permit paper work before the deal can be announced.

Despite a recent upturn in results, Aston Villa remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League.

With just 12 points from 22 games, Remi Garde’s side looked nailed-on for the drop this season.

The Clarets are back in action tonight when they take on Wycombe Wanders at Villa Park in an FA Cup 3rd round replay.

Obviously he'll keep us up.........................and we don't need a decent midfielder or even a goal scorer at all. Pffftttttt

  6. A protest is pointless in our circumstances but I can understand some people's desire to do something, anything to show their anger at what is happening.

Personally I think the best way to do it would be boycott the Wycombe replay.

That would get people's attention in the club and in the media without being counter productive in terms of our attempts not to be utterly woeful in the league.

Still, I'm not sure it would achieve a great deal really but might make some feel better.

So boycott the Wycombe game I say.

So you boycott the Wycombe game....what will this achieve? The board aren't gonna resign, that sort of action isn't gonna get us nearer a new owner. All its gonna do is give us more negative press. And that's one thing we don't need!!!

  7. Auld Lang syne, let bygones be bygones..

Hopes for 2016 is to stave off relegation but I feel it won't happen so for this I feel it's time to rebuild for next season, let's get some players with fight as the championship is the toughest league to get out off, let those go now who are not upto it.

  8. Quality is the answer. We have none bar Richards, we are gonna need a good £60m in Jan to keep us up. The team is no where near good enough, and it all stems to the end of the oneill era and Lerner cutting budgets, bet if he knew then what would happen now, bet oneill still be in charge and we be top 6 side.
