  1. Hughes.

    You know it makes sense.

No, it doesn't, not when you consider the other candidates out there.

I think Hughes is a good candidate.

When you take into account the other possible candidates out there (Moyes or Ancelotti for example), why?

Moyes is that much better than Hughes? Ok whatever...

  2. If I never see it again, its too soon. Its the second worst film I've seen since Sin City.

    Oooh, attacking Sin City. Controversial.

But I agree. I found it mind-numbingly boring and stupid.

  3. On the whole 'Drag Me To Hell' thing, I really enjoyed it. It's probably one of my favourite horror films in recent years, if you can even describe it as that. It is more of a throwback to how things used to be done and for that I have immense praise for it. I thought it was hilarious and provided some jumps to go with it. Plus some pretty weird and freaky scenes that just seemed to work really well. I liked the lead actress as well, for both the way she played the role and because she is stunning. I'm more of a fan of this type of film than the recent shite that has been coming out.

    Completely agree.

  4. Might get it, it's cheap in Morrisons.

Good film, but don't expect the next full metal jacket.

Only film where i havent thought farrell was a cock to be honest.

to be fair he is a cock in it but in brugges is a very good film IMO

In Bruges is brilliant. Farell is a bit of a cock in it, but that's kind of the point of his character.

I know a few people who don't like it though, so I think it's splits opinion. I love it though. In fact I've bought it on DVD twice!

In Bruges is worth it if for only one scene

Overweight Man: Been to the top of the tower?

    Ray: Yeah... yeah, it's rubbish.

Overweight Man: It is? The guide book says it's a must see.

Ray: Well you lot ain't going up there.

    Overweight Man: Pardon me? Why?

Ray: I mean, it's all winding stairs. I'm not being funny.

Overweight Man: What exactly are you trying to say?

Ray: What exactly am I trying to say? You's a bunch of ****' elephants.

[overweight man attempts to chase Ray around but quickly grows tired]

Ray: Come on, leave it fatty!

[the overweight women calm down the overweight man]

Overweight Woman #2: [to Ray] You know you're just the rudest man. The rudest man!

Ken: [coming back from the tower] What's all that about?

    [Ray shrugs]

Ken: They're not going up there.

    [to overweight family]

Ken: Hey, guys. I wouldn't go up there. It's really narrow.

Overweight Woman #2: Screw you, really bad person!

Ken: [to Ray] What was that about?

    Ray: [shrugs]

  5. You need to stop re-watching that and watch some more films then ;)

Good film, but no masterpiece :D

I have read to many sports players interviewed say that this is favourite movie and that they don't have a favourite book because they don't read much.

I wonder what the majority of Shawshank fans think of THX-1138?

  6. I dealt cards in tournament poker to a table with Terry Sheringham and Devilfish. Teddy was very quiet but polite and friendly. Devilfish threw a strop at another player and me.

Dealt to Tony Cascarino several times. Up-him-self twunt.

  7. Oh I agree about the overuse of CGI, generally a real film ruiner.
CGI ruined Gladiator for me. That crappy tiger in the arena - you could see through it!

Spartacus (Kubrick) was a much better film without it.

Gladiator bored the shit out of me.

  8. I watched insidius last night

love the horror genre enjoyed the film

thought it was done pretty well, had a real old school feel about it (very much like amytivill horror)

it really lost its way in the last half hour though when it went all nightmare on elm streetish, it was like two completely different film styles that wasn't so much merged into one just more like....stuck either side of each other

    if that makes sence

basicly I dont think they needed to add all the CGI rubbish at the end

I watched this at the weekend too, and loved it.

The twist of emphasis half way through is what made the film for me. I thought it was going to be another typical hollywood cash cow horror, trying to combine Amityville and Paranormal Activity, but thought it ended up quite unique.

Its been a while since ive been to a cinema where the whole room gets into the film as much as this, which helped add to the atmosphere.

dont get me wrong I thought it was good and did enjoy it I thought it was the best new horror for quite some time

it was just the way that it jumped from 1 style to a completely other, the only thing that really annoyed me and nearly every film these days feel the need to do it and that is to cram loads of CGI in when its not needed

Oh I agree about the overuse of CGI, generally a real film ruiner.

However it would be hard to portray some of the aspects of this film without it, and I think a lot of it was really cleverly done; I dont think it was overused either.

^^^ Agree with all these comments. Brought me back to some of the classic 80's Horrors when they were being churned out. Med-prod classics like Shocker(with Mitch Peleggi pre-X-Files fame) and Deadly Friend( with Anne Ramsey, old woman from Goonies).

I liked some of the areas it touched on, Astral Travelling... and the movie had the feel of a Stephen King story, for better or for worse.

Saw the ending coming a mile off, reminded me of The Skeleton Key and so many others but overall enjoyed it and well done scare moments.

  9. I'm pretty sure he lived in New York till he was 14 which makes him more Yank than Aussie and why he can play american seamlessly without obvious Aussie accent slips like Anna Torv, Anthony La Paglia, Simon Baker etc etc

  10. REC is awesome, so much better than the american remake Quarantine.

Just watched this tonight, so many quotable bits from it, just a brilliant film!

    Defamer_Funny_65394_in_the_loop_poster.jpg

Malcolm Tucker: Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some **** regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some **** Jane **** Austen novel! Allow me to pop a jaunty little bonnet on your purview and ram it up your shitter with a lubricated horse cock!

Judy: Your swearing does not impress me. My husband works for Tower Hamlets and believe me those kids make you sound like... Angela Lansbury!

    :lol::lol::lol:

  11. Great film!

Yeah hermit scene is hilarious, love the classroom at the start too. Oh and 'Abby Normal'

Absolutely brilliant and so out of type for Gene Hackman as the blind hermit.

Just watched a superb Zombie film, [REC]

    Spanish make some great films.
