Chelsea have 4 very winnable games after the Spurs match. They could get to 63 points if they win all of their games which, and it’s a long shot, could get them 5th.

They will very much be up for the game on Thursday. Let’s just hope Spurs aren’t.

Spurs forum thread they're saying 4th is gone and Chelsea could still catch them. These posts were before Arsenal loss

Could happen, if spurs lose against Chelsea and Liverpool

Personally though I think we need 4 points from our last 3 games, beat Brighton and we're almost home.

In bold if happens it's over. They can't bridge 10pts in last 3 games. 3pts is enough if Spurs get beaten by Chelsea and Liverpool. Let's go Scouse Pensioners

That would mean spurs losing 4 league games in a row. I don’t think that will happen. In fact it would not surprise me if they got 4pts from those games. They were actually pretty good yesterday. Hopefully we’ve got enough to drag ourselves over the line.

Spurs have 2 wins in last 10 away games.

  4. One thing on Gallagher is he 2 goals against us last 2 games all comps. 6 goals 8 assists all comps for the season is rubbish for what he'd probably cost. He's been shit in other games just seems to turn up against us

I’d be very surprised if 4th is done and dusted by the end of this weekends games. This is football and Villa. More than likely we go into the last game needing a point and are 1-0 down with 2 minutes to go!

You don't think us beating Brighton and Spurs losing both away games to Chelsea and Liverpool is a realistic possibility?

Done in both means we fail to get 4th and knocked out of CL. With Emi, we do both.

Olsen in goal means we play deeper to protect him and he concedes 2 plus goals in the majority of games he plays

We can beat Brighton with Olsen in goal. We beat Spurs away 2-0 with him in goal before. Emi out has nothing to do with Spurs next 2 games and if they lose both and we beat Brighton we can't lose 4th place. Emi can't play first leg against Olympiakos anyway

I now think the season hinges on whether Emi is fit for the run in.

If he misses brighton, olympiakos and liverpool, i think we are done in both competitions.

We cannot play the same way without him and will concede too many soft goals. Olsen concedes too many soft goals. He's conceded 7 in 3 PL games and confidence in the defence is shot when he plays.

What does done in both comps mean? Emi is suspended for first leg anyway. We can beat Brighton with Olsen and if Spurs lose next 2 as well they can't catch us.

I think it’s more the performance I’m getting at. 28% possession at home and looking like a championship team against a premier league team was very disappointing given the week we’d had to prepare for the game. Emery keeps saying he wants us to control the ball, keep possession, beat the press, be brave, but we didn’t do any of that last night and just reverted to hoof ball up to Watkins which doesn’t work because Ollie never wins anything in the air against central defenders.

I think Arsenal aside, we haven’t really played well in many games the last few weeks and that’s the disappointing thing because I really enjoy watching us at our best and it seems so few and far between at the moment.

Ok. Now list all the players injured not including Tielemans and Emi going off during the game. JFC

  9. I meant to take back what I'd said about him before the Arsenal game but didn't get round to it. Cost us in numerous games this season probably outweighs the stand out performances
