  1. so this evening has so far seen 2 more bronze medals in the gymnastics, Another gold, silver & bronze for trott, james & marchant in the cycling, Jason Kenny up next in the keirin final for possibly another gold and Jack Laugher looking good for gold/silver nearly half way through the 3m diving final.

Grabarz has a chance of a medal in the high jump later, as does Laura Muir in the 1500m

Britain could actualy be above China in the total number of medals won rather than just in the medal table which prioritises golds in the next hour or two, only 1 behind at the moment with 47

  2. This has done us in tonight.

Substitutes: Bunn, Baker, Richards, Green, Hutton, Gardner, Amavi

I said before the game no attacking players on the bench was a problem, Green/Gardner have both been inefective/poor so far. Someone like hepburn-murphy would have at least given them something to think about rather than just being able to continue doing whatever they were doing. Hopefully Jedinack will mean we never have to see Gardner again

All these crashes it's a wonder this game passed TCR. I remember when I was a tester the requirements seemed a lot more strict to get a pass, though perhaps that's a difference between Sony and Microsoft.

I honestly don't think anyone cares anymore thanks to now easily being able to fix stuff with patches/updates.

Release a broken game a few years ago and it generally ended in just being broken, or a messy product recall. Now with more and more people switching to digital and the ability to patch things as and when they wish the standards have gone downhill fast.

Even games that have had multiple closed/public aplhas/betas still launch with loads of problems.

The odd completely random bug/glitch will always happen but there is no way under any sort of proper testing that some of the stuff that affects hundreds/thousands of people should be getting through.

The general public & day one buyers are now rapidly becoming the beta testers.

really promising pace from Bolt in the semi there. it's going to be a real endurance test for me keeping my eyes open long enough to see the final though.

It's on in an hour so not as bad as last nights 4am finish. Womens 1500m semis on in a minute to help pass the time & the mens 400m is on shortly after at 2 before the 100m final at 2.25

I really rate what I've seen of Adama, very exciting attacking player, could potentially tear this division apart on his own in some games, when did we last have a player with that possible potential?

  6. Was he shagging the chairmans wife at bournemouth or something, Why on earth would they sell him? I could understand if we had offered them 15 million or something, But 3 million?

Ah well, Their loss. Best signing we have made for years

  7. Not sure if KJT just has the same facial expression variety as Ayew but she always just looks defeated the moment the throwing events are about to start. Her & Thiam were miles clear of everyone else in the high jump, She is fast on the track and has a potentially very good long jump (although she is also a bit fragile here and prone to a first jump foul completely ruining the event for her).

She is still young but doesn't seem to be progressing at all in the field events, if anything she is getting worse due to complete lack of technique & confidence. No idea how she can continually finish top 6 when she doesn't even have a basic grasp of the mechanics required to throw a shot & Javelin more than the distance a strong gust of wind could take them.

Maybe she should pack in the heptathlon and focus on the high Jump. The 1.98 she jumped is only 11cms of the womens high jump world record which has stood for nearly 30 years and only 3 actual specialist high jumpers have been higher this year.

The gold in the high jump tomorrow is likely to only be 2.03 - 2.05 and 1.98 would be top 6, maybe even with an outside chance of bronze

  8. Unlucky for ennis but Thiam was very good from the high jump onwards.

If KJT could sort out her throwing it will be a good battle in future between her & Thiam as they are very evenly matched phsically. KJT is quicker on the track but there are 12 year old kids who can throw a Javelin & shot put farther than she can

  9. Should be fun, Ennis has a PB time of about 10 seconds better than Thaim for the 800 but that time was 5 years ago.

Thiam ran 2.17.28 in may this year

Ennis ran 2.07.81 but that was in 2011, The best she has ran this year is 2.11.46

could be very close but looks like she could miss out on the gold this time

  10. I'm surprised rutherford didn't make more of a fuss about his foul jump, Think that one would have won gold  by some distance and there didn't really seem to be much of a mark on the line and stills appear to show he didn't actually touch it.

  11. Talk about commentators curse :

"This is mos chance to be the first british athlete to win 3 golds, and you know what it's looking good for mo so far"

Literally one second later Farah is on his arse after team mate & training partner Galen Rupp crashes into him.

Back on his feet quickly & doesn't seem to have done him much harm though and still plenty of the race left

  12. some biggies up in the next 4 hours in a repeat of london 2012's super saturday.

Ennis in heptathlon javelin from 1 o clock (KJT is in group one starting at midnight but her javelin isn't much better than her shot put)

Greg Rutherford long jump final starts just before 1 & Mo Farah goes for the 10,000 at 1.27

Womens 100m final is at 2.37 (mens final is at the same time in 24 hours) and if you're staying up for the heptathlon conclusion the final 800m race is due off at 3.18

Will be interesting to see what happens with the Forestieri situation as Wednesday are still adamant that no player will be sold. That's a clear message that would lose them credibility if they were to do a U-turn.

If they are true to their word, has the player burnt his bridges with the fans? Carvalhal speaks about it in the link below.

    http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11703/10535752/carvalhal-says-forestieri-is-going-nowhere

They are nearly upto 50 pages today alone on owlstalk forum about forestieri & as you can imagine some of it is "interesting", Similar to the delph stuff last year i guess but if you want something to read for half an hour before the athletics starts again it starts about here http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/243808-forestieri/&page=54
