It's too late for Terry now.

Even if we signed him now it would probably be October before he's ready to play.

As much as I would have liked to see him here again this season, I don't think it's going to happen.

October is 4 weeks away, the benefit of just having him around the club would be more than worth the wait for Terry to get back to fitness. Plus we’ll be needing a new manager by then....

  2. Surely this must be going through ? Elphick is apparently on his way to Hull for a medical, even Bruce wouldn’t be stupid enough to let him go without securing a replacement......would he ?

  3. Please just re-sign Terry already, he will motivate and organise in a way that young players just can’t.

im all for having a young vibrant team, but you do also need some older heads in there, and I think Terry did more last season to change our attitude on and off the pitch than Steve Bruce has in two years.

Don't know if its a well known story down there but up here there's an infamous story of Ian mcall taking a dump in Stainrod's shoe. ...

Must have been every week after his Villa debut...would explain a few things (it all started off so promisingly).

  5. The best Villa manager in my lifetime, and the Championship squad probably had the best TEAM ethic i've seen at any football club.

Football's changed and I don't expect to ever see the likes of Ron or that team again.

Sad days, thanks for the memories Ron.

Agreed and I was there when Brian Little, Andy Gray, Dennis Mortimer and Dean Saunders made their debuts. He has made a really promising start. :)

Don't forget Simon Stainrod....on second thoughts let's not taint the thread.

  7. Priority has to be a centre back, Jedinak is very poor in that position and Bruce doesn't seem to trust Elphick. Huth might be a possibility for thatnrile.

RW is also somewhere we are desperate fot, I'd like to see Odegaard, would be happy with Snodgrass back too.

Striker, is also a position we need to cover. Kodgia is a long way from his form of 2016\2017, Hogan can't be relied upon in Bruce's system. Davis and RHM have potential (would like to see them play together), but it would be a lot of pressure to make either the main guy. We need someone powerful with a presence in the box (Benteke like). I have no idea who we could get who would fit this role.

I dont hate Villa, so there is no hating going on on my part.

I'm well aware that transfer fees arent done in a lump sum up front, but theres been suggestions that Villa had missed payments to us.

Perhaps you have forgotten already, but financially you were up a certain creek earlier this summer and money was owed to several places.

You didnt read what I posted very well then.

I havent blamed Villa fans for anything, and went on to specifically point out that the criticisms of some Villa fans that I was making also apply to fans of other clubs, including my own.

So Villa owe Bristol City money and yet Bristol City we’re prepared to deal with us again ? You don’t th8nk that’s weird ?

Can only speak for myself, but many of your fans come across as arrogant, from what I have encountered at Ashton Gate, and on social media (not that Villa are alone in that and I'm sure a number of ours do too).

The fact Villa still owe us money from the Kodjia transfer still, and the fact that after relegation you just went to buy promotion, which is why you have the FFP troubles now.

Other than the Kodjia money none of it is specific to Villa, and I have equally enjoyed laughing as Derby bottled promotion year on year when they tried to buy it, and I will do the same if Forest fail this season.

So it’s basic jealousy then ? Villa fans arrogant or Bristol City fans small minded ?

Me thinks Bruce threw his toys out the pram if he was a Mendes signing.

I htink if that was the case he'd have been fired. Bruce won't do anything to upset the apple cart right now, I don't think even he is that dumb.

Perhaps he's made his mind up about Steer, and he's neve rated Bunn.

Is the sizes similar to last seasons Under Armor?

Sizes are larger than last year. I would say sizes for the average Joe are true. I'm a 42-44 chest and Large fitted me just fine, could possibly have got away with a medium (but chose to have breathing room).

Last year I tried on an extra large away kit and found it uncomfortable...hence I didn't buy one.

    Time to start scrutinizing Getsifute

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gestifute/beraterfirma/berater/413#

I can't copy an image from here but it's essentially a list of all players under Mendes Gestifute player agency

Looking at that list, I expect to see Nelson Oliveira rock up at B6 this week. Which wouldn't be the worst striker we could sign.

I'd love to see a loan for Wallace from Lazio (CD), but I think thats out of the question as he's been getting game time there.

  13. All the speculation regarding Henry didn't just come from knowhere, it was such a strong and yet random link when there would have been more obvious (if less sexy) choices. Have a feeling that as soon as we hit a rough patch and the fans are vocal in disgruntlement he will be shown the door.

  14. So all his cronies are removed as directors and he is very conspicuous by his absence. Clearly not involved any longer or why was he not involved in the talks yesterday that could have ended with the sacking of the manager. Surely as part of a 3 man board he would have had some say in that decision. Clock keeps ticking.
