In relation to Wyness, I assume the claim for constructive dismissal will be linked to these changes to his service contract ?
It all seems a little odd, as the sections referred to 215 - 217 all involve payments due upon loss of office.
215 Payments for loss of office
216 Amounts taken to be payments for loss of office
217 Payment by company: requirement of members’ approval
Stupid question: Wouldn't he also have had to agree to these changes ?

Interesting to note all these documents/resolutions lodged at companies house were signed on 25th May 2018...doesn't that mean they have nothing to do with us not getting promoted ?
Meaning they are not a solution to the financial shortfall ?

But who is thatcherlover and why are we suddenly hanging on his every word ? As far as I can tell his first Villa related tweet was 30th May 2018.
he does seem to have been right on a few things since then, but I’m not convinced that any takeover is imminent or logical.

So the type of manager we need is... one who is not a manager?
We've had a few of that type in the past.

But what he does best......I like him.
Agreed, i think the reason he comes in for stick is because he doesn't do anything spectacular. He rarely wastes possession, but when he does it seems like a bigger deal because the 'spectacular' is missing from his game to balance it. He just quietly goes about his business.
At this level he's an excellent player, in the Premier League however i don't think he'd cut it any longer, if we go up maybe we can sell him back to Stoke.

Would rather see Hutton or Bree at left back.
not sure if he was really injured, didn’t look interested and was an absolute liability prior to going off.

If we’re In this division next season, and with Gollini’s loan finishing at the end of the season, i’d like to see us use the free transfer market to sign a keeper rather than blow a large fee on Johnstone.
i see Vorm (Tottenham) and Robles (Everton) and Krug (Brighton) are out of contract and useful.

Would you be against "Villa Park - Powered by Recon" or something of the sort, with the Recon etc in smaller lettering underneath?
If it meant we could get say an extra 20 mill per season?
Genuine question for you lot.
I'd happily go along with Villa Park - Powered by Recon. I don't care what it gets renamed, it'll always be Villa Park to me, and I have faith that whatever sponsorship they come up with will be sympathetic

Wee don’t know yet what money is involved, though. It could be a few million or it could be ridiculous amounts of money. I think, unfortunately, it’ll be closer to the latter.
I assume you mean the former ? and hope it's the latter ?
This for me shows that Xia is prepared to do whatever possible within the rules of the game to get the right amount of cash into the club. I firmly believe the enxt announcement will be a Recon Sports (or some other Xia owned company) manufactured kit (making a very nice deal for Villa in the process).
I htink this shows how p****d off the hierarchy have been with the situation at Wolves and they've now decided to tackle things head on rather than just following everything laid down by the football league. The wording of this statement is very clear that there is benefit to both businesses in this alliance. Very clever, and i'd like to see more please.

Great shot-stopper, but his kicking seems to have deteriorated since the turn of the year.

Thinking about this press release “Innovative and ground breaking”, I’m reading that as Dr Tony has started a new company Recon Sports and they will be our kit supplier in a new agreement as a way of pumping some cash into the club.
As a result we will see the price of kits fall, and yet the club will make more money from selling them since there’s no middle man.
innovative as we will really be supplying our own kit, and ground breaking because we’re likely to have more fan input and the kits will be cheaper.
Personally I’d happily forgo a brand name if it meant more money for the club.

Our last Ex-Lincoln City manager did pretty well too.

Not for me, a manager from Lincoln City should not be managing our club next. If as you say we have faith with a manager who can rebuild for a few years I would go with Dean Smith. He somehow even when his better players leave, manages to make them even better.
He seems to be good in the transfer market as well. Also he is very passionate and understands the size of the club.
I'm kind of in on the Dean Smith thing, however if I remember right he has very little say in player recruitment ? I seem to remember that the owner of Brentford owns some form of analytics company and they buy players based on that (soemthing similar to moneyball). So it would probably not be enough to bring in just Dean Smith.

I wonder how bad a proposition for a premium kit supplier we really are ? At the time I thought getting UA was a bit of a coup, they also seemed to put a lot of effort into the kit so it's a shame that it doesn't appear to have worked out.
I'm not at all certain this is anything to do with us not getting promoted, as realistically we could still be in the Premier League next season, hopefully the previous speculation of an FFP busting deal with a Chinese company has legs.

if we have to play someone in that position and (as seems to be the case) we have to play Tunazabe if fit, then i'd like to see Tuanzabe in DM as his pace could be useful there.

Yes, this is the problem. We actually did very much what Citeh have done, but we did it very badly and bought the wrong players for huge fees/wages. We spent the money required to get top 4 but spent is badly, in some cases catestrophically badly.
MON was allowed far too much freedom to overspend on dross. He would pay massive wages to players like Habib Beye and then not even put him in the squad.
To be fair City did get two attempts at it, first under Thaksin Shiniwatra and then under the current regime.

Meant to say after the game... but what the hell is the point of bringing him on after 88 minutes? He's not a poacher who will nick you a goal, he's the type of striker that will hold the ball up and bring team mates into the game. He needs more than 2 minutes to get into the game, therefore. Should have been brought on when Grabban was if we were going to use him at all.
I agree it's kind of pointless, but i think the logic was he's a bit tricky to handle and putting him up against tired defenders might bring an error from them.
Its a tactic that goes along very nicely with kick and hope, and realistically when 2-0 down with 2 minutes to go there isn't much else you can do.

Such sad news, another taken too early !

Surely Dr Tony has some friends in Chinese football with a few million to burn ? The outlay for Ross is a pittance in the Chinese league.

Had enough. The team is capable, but the negative tactics are killing us, particularly at home.
its so negative to pass back to the keeper from the halfway line with th3 sole intention of him launching it upfield to draw the opposition out. Once in a while it’s a good ta tic, but this is our only tactic.
Bruce has had time, is supposed to know this division inside out, but we keep getting out fough5 and out thought at home against inferior opposition.
watching this week in and week out is unbearable.

He came up with a lovely assist last match
He's made many saving tackles too. What's your point ? is every player now judged on one mistake ?

Yes, but the date of Dr Tony's signature is 25th May so it was decided before the playoff final as were the changes to Wyness role/control.
