I thought Lille were better team, but the way their players kept calling for yellow cards after every challenge was scummy. For that alone, I'm glad they got knocked out.

If there was one keeper in the world you would want for a penalty shootout it is Martinez. Absolute beast!

So glad all this neurotic coefficient rubbish finishes now. People were focusing on it more than our own actual games ffs. We either get UCL on merit or not which is fine. Attention now turns to tomorrow nights massive game
Doesn't matter now as the coefficient route is ****

The one time I want these scumbag clubs to win and they all lose together like this.
At least we know where we stand and Man City and Arsenal's fixture congestion means they can focus on beating Tottenham
What a shitshow it's turning out to be.

Coefficient FC are really making hard work of qualifying. If this carries on then we will have to get 4th nailed on if we want CL next year. Its ironic that i usually cheer them to lose and the one time I actually want them to win they **** it up.

Good job they didn't add Brazilian women in as a third choice, as he would probably have had a complete breakdown.

I'd like to see what his valuation is now. Dwarfs whatever it is we agreed to pay Middlesbrough. Fantastic player and really suits our play. Can cover several positions. Turning into a crowd favourite. Only 21!!
Chukwuemeke went for 20m with far less experience and without really putting in any eye catching performances. Yes he is slightly younger but, based on Rogers's performances you have to say he is ahead of Carney right now. If we to sell him in the summer I would expect 20-25m.

And more importantly - Dave from next door isn't just Dave from next door. Dave's also widely regarded as one of the best in the business at what he does. It's a bit like living next door to Bill and asking him if he can help you with a little MS Excel issue you are having...
Have you got Dave's number? I have some guttering and loose tiles that need replacing.

I think moving will be very difficult - land in the city for a project this size isn't easy to come by and we'll struggle to get a site any nearer to the city centre. I'd hate to see out toward Bodymoor and we can't really move to Wast Hills or Sandwell so our options would be really limited - I don't see a better option than buying up some big chunks of the land around the ground and rebuilding where we are. It might be just as effective to change Aston as move to somewhere else.
Back in the deadly doug era there was talk about us building a stadium somewhere near the NEC. I wonder if that's an option now?

I'd say it looks like new stadium more than it looks otherwise.
Well seeing what Comcast has done with the Sixers stadium, Eden's with the Bucks and cancelling the planned Villa Park upgrade, it might just be.
As much as some won't like it, we need to move on from Villa Park if we want to compete at the top level. Aston probably isn't the best location for a multi use commercial stadium, while expansion is also restricted because of the surrounding housing.

I've said this in the Villa Park development thread - but all the new Directors have also been appointed as Directors of NSWE Stadium Ltd - which owns Villa Park and is listed as a property investment company.
Bashir has also been appointed as director of every connected V sports company, while the other 2 are just appointed to NSWE.

The best compliment I can give Rogers is that we haven't missed Ramsey.

Wonder where Zaniolo and Rogers will start
Left and right of midfield. The central 2 will be mcginn and tielemans.

Could of (and maybe should of) put it a rotated side like we saw against man city. Instead he selects our strongest lineup. Emery really hates arsenal didn't he?! Can't bring himself to concede defeat against them under any circumstances.

Newcastle are on their best run all season 13 points from 6 games. They somehow manage to do that again then we only need 4 points. If we don’t get 4 points from 6 games then we deserve nothing. Newcastle have a makeshift defence that will not do what they did today when they play away from home.
Some sense on here at last. They have to make up 10 pts plus whatever points we manage to pick up over the next 6 games. Its not impossible, but it's highly improbable at this stage. Not even Ivan Toney would be willing to bet on Newcastle getting top 5 now.

How can bed wetting be either rational or irrational?
A medical condition would make it rational

We are pretty much guaranteed at least 5th now. All this irrational bed wetting about being caught by the likes of Man Utd, Newcastle and West Ham is beyond embarrassing.

66 is the target, which we should meet easily. That's why I think we should prioritise Conference League, as that will boost the coefficient for the extra champions league place in the league.

I think they bought Rogers with an eye on selling Ramsey in the summer.
Or it could be zaniolo's replacement when we don't sign him permanently.

We dont need to extend the lead!
I don't think that they will catch us, but their remaining fixtures are really favourable. Its not crazy to suggest they could pick up 16-17 pts from them. That means we need another 6-7 pts to make sure of at least 5th and I think that is very likely.
