Yet moaning?
Lol, three games in and you're quoting league positions. REALLY?
Even our dimwitted manager said he wants TWO in today, because even he can see we need them
We've been GIVEN, literally an extra 40m revenue this summer for doing NOTHING. Yet we've decided to invest only 6-7m of it
Come back to me after the usual ten game period of settling in, and then lets see what's what with the table
Weren't we near the drop zone after three games last year? All doom and gloom if we lose the first 3, all doom and gloom with 2 wins and a draw from the first 3. Pessimism brings nothing to the situation

Have you just signed up to tell us that? Leicester fan are you? He's in madrid, you won't be getting Canales.
Do one you sad Tw@t
Just passing on information, take it or leave it.
Your post was an opinion, not actually information as that would require a reliable source, there is quite a big difference. But then again you're a Leicester fan right?

Obsessed with us or what? little clearing in the woods needs kicking off his bike!
I wouldn't hold that scarf up for too long if I was him, people might notice he's a Birmingham fan :r

I gotta be honest, I've slagged Weimann off for a long time about not being able to compose himself in front of goal, his poor first touch and all the wild shots. But the lad has been outstanding so far in the first three games, never been so happy to eat my own words. Over the moon for Gabby today UTV

The strikers rarely get a decent chance to finish anything off. What we actually need is an AM who can cut open a defence, there's not many strikers in our budget who can create that many chances for themselves.
-
I completely agree, I love the lad to bits but he has got to do better. In his defence, we don't create the chances for someone like him to be playing up front, he's not the type of player to create them himself, he just gets on to the end of through balls and is generally a good finisher. Also, he seems to have dropped really deep over the last couple of seasons, rather than hanging on the defenders shoulder like he used to, I think he doesn't trust the rest of the team to do the work in the middle of the park and he hangs back to help out. Either way he needs to sort it out, Lambert loves him as do most Villa fans, but that can only be stretched so far before he's out of the first eleven.
Yeah on song just having him on the pitch is enough to stop the opposition squeezing up with a high line. He was poor though for me yesterday, not just because of the miss, but improved as the gaem went on. I remember him cutting in from the right and being intelligent enough to keep the possession for us. Plus he helped us run down the clock at the end too. He needs to find soem form though and not disappear like he did in the first half, he has to be making those runs for people to play the ball through the channels and in behind. He wasn't showing that enough yesterday and looked better wide.He improved in the second half yesterday but it wasn't a good performance - worked hard enough, but his awareness was very poor. The manager was screaming at us to play balls into the channel all through the first half, but everything was either in the air or to feet which suited Stoke down to the ground, that's not Gabby's fault, but he needs to make the runs that encourage those passes. It was interesting to see him and Weimann swapping positions for periods of the game and that seems to work.
We could do with Gabby finding some sort of form, I think it's too early for Grealish to be starting games and I wouldn't want to see us desperate enough to resort to the fat lazy mess on the bench.
I think he'll find himself under pressure once Benteke comes back; I think that might do him some good.
I love him to bits but he's got to play better than he did for most of the game yesterday to justify his place.
-
Tough call who to play up top when Benteke and Kozak are out.
I honestly can't stand it when Weimann is in the team, I know the lad runs and works hard, but he has a poor touch, can't beat a defender and I'm just sick and tired of the relentless, wild row Z shots. I also think we need 2 strikers on, so until Tekkers is back it's DB and Gabby for me.
-
I'd have Gabby up front over Weimann all day, and it'd be nice to see cole in the number 10 role if possible, but I get a feeling with his fitness he's only gonna be an impact player imo. Other than that I think you're spot on.-----------------Guzan-----------------
-------Vlaar---Okore---Cissokho
Hutton--------------------------Richardson
------Delph-- Sanchez-- NZogbia
----------Benteke -- Wiemann-----

There's only one team I want there
-
Fair enough but I disagree.
Do we need Moses?Totally think sanchez if we get him and moses on loan and we look a tidy side
We've already got a pace merchant with no technical ability and a poor goal scoring record.
He'd be a waste of wages for me.
Lets see who Pochetino casts aside as he has said today that he needs trim his squad.
If it includes the likes of Capoue/Chadli/Holtby then a sneaky loan bid for one of them would benefit us more.
Moses is better than anyone we have on the wing atm IMO.
Agree about Spurs though. Id take Naughton, Lennon, Holtby etc.
I think Nzogbia deserves a chance to shine again and is no worse than Moses.
Plus Richardson (if lambert sees him as a winger) was way more influential for Fulham last year and had a good season.
Moses wages would be 60,000 minimum and would not have a big impact IMO to warrant that.
Yeah, but you're forgetting that Moses was in that Nike avert with Ronaldo and Rooney, therefore he must be good.

I'm trying to be positive, to think that it'll all come good, that we have enough quality to finish 12th-15th. But the current situation of the club still not being sold, almost no investment, and the fact that we've become the new Wigan, constantly flirting with relegation, I think this might be a bit too much for our poor little club. I honestly don't think we can hack it with the big boys any more, and that hurts to say.
17th-20th

16th/17th

I'd go with the same team, but I'd drop KEA and play Cole in the middle, and put Gabby up front with Benty
-
I'll contribute, I'm on here 100 times a day
-
I think kozak would be a great player if he could string a few games together. Given we're without Bentekkers for some time, I'd find it interesting to see Gabby play up top with him. I know Gabby had a poor season but he was out wide, up top he's played great for us in the past, he's a top cf on his day but just a workhorse anywhere else on the pitch.
-
Honestly I'm not sure, I must've got there late that day lol

Some money for the management to spend. Nothing serious, just enough to buy decent players as apposed to the lower league players and journeymen that we have now come to expect. Maybe if we're lucky, we can even get a cheerleading squadjust interested to know?....what is everyone expecting from this new owner when he/she arrives?
-
No.My point is that the budget was no surprise to him.He knew he had to cut wages,he knew there was little money to spend. He knew everything....yet he still took the job.Meaning that he thought that he was good enough.
He wasnt ( as we all know ) we needed someone like Moyes who ran Everton on a shoestring.
So, the bottom line is Lambert is not good enough for the Villa job,we needed someone like Martinez, Moyes.Lambert should realise this and walk away and give us a chance to find a manager that CAN work under those condidions.
No manager should have to work under those conditions, and not many could. Sure he knew what the restrictions were, but I imagine he didn't think he would have to put up with them for this long. He's doing an ok job, and I hate to jump on the bandwagon but we have had horrible luck with injuries. I'm sure with even a minimal premier league budget and no serious injuries Lambert would be a great manager. Maybe if certain people stopped slagging him off and got behind the team things might be a little better, but what do I know?
-
Yes Lambert knew the conditions, and yes he knew there was going to be restrictions. I don't imagine he thought he was a better manger than he is, as he is still relatively young for a manager. He stated himself at the very beginning that it was the fact that a club the size of the Villa was a draw to him, he himself surely saw it as a step up in his own career, whether it was going to be difficult or not. Whilst he has made a bollock job of some games and he has mis-managed the team for periods of 5/6 games at a time, I think he's done a pretty good job of keeping us up and at times played some great football under the restrictions and ridiculous transfer pot that he's had to deal with.
-
Daily star reckons Man U after Vlaar. Weren't we all expecting this? Or is this just newspaper bullshit?
-
Personally I think that the main reason why a lot of good players don't become good managers is that when they become forceful over certain ideas, certain players decide to shut up shop and sulk a little. We've all seen players in the past who think they're bigger than the club, or can't be professional enough to take a bollocking on the chin and just get on with their job.
-
If this news is true then at least we're starting to hear something. If we're honest, all we've been doing the last few weeks is picking apart rumours from supposedly ikn's hoping to find some sort of truth. I'm hopeful that Villa will be back to the level that I want them to be, but this takeover news is starting to wear me down a little now.
-
Haha my bad, don't I feel like a plum lol

People who consider him to be such a great player and talented youngster are referring to his performances in the youth team, international and games out on loan. Nobody would judge a player on the small handful of bit part games he's had with the first team. In regards to the regular football he has played, he's very highly rated and we're understood to have had a lot of offers for him over the last few years.
