  1. Woke up this morning and said to myself "Ah, Villa tonight, that's something to look forward to" and even though we are awful atm and probably come the end of the game ill be depressed I still have that blind optimism every morning we are playing.

    :flag:

Same here, every Saturday I say never again. I'm not getting excited just to be let down, but here I am again, bricking it but still excited lol

  2. I imagine all teams won't admit defeat at some point, it's better than admitting defeat, lol. I'm sure we haven't, need results to go our way this weekend.

Perfectly possible. Sunderland have Man U, Baggies have Southampton and Burnley have Swansea. Hull have Stoke so a possible loss there

  3. I firmly believe we will stay up...just.

If we can nab 6 points from the next 2 things will look a lot rosier and a cup Qtr final to look forward too.

Maybe we can pick points up at the baggies, but Newcastle? They are a much better side than Stoke and we are one of their 'winnable' games. They will be looking at us as a team who they should 100% be getting 3 points, at most I think they'd settle for the draw.

  4. Sorry, I wasn't clear. When I said 'we'll be fine, in the end', I might in a rather more general sense. I don't think we'll stay up this season.

Even then there is worry, can't you imagine us being like Leeds or Coventry? Dropping out of the league and just falling, never coming back? I don't think it's unlikely given the care, tactics and investment it requires to get back up, never mind the exodus of your top players.

  5. Yes it does. Gutted about what's happened to Parma. When we played them in that friendly at the start of the season, I was sat close to their fans and I was really impressed by the quality and volume of their support. They don't even have a club to cheer for any more. We'll be fine, in the end.

I don't think we will be fine, I've always been a optimist the last 3/4 years in regards to our relegation troubles, even in PL's first season when at one point we really looked doomed. But I just don't see any realistic winnable games this season. Even when we've played Leicster, Burnley, QPR, Hull etc we've looked completely out of our depth and always the shitter team. I honestly don't think we'd compete in the top quarter of the championship. I can see this going down to the last day of the season when we play Burnley and QPR play Leicster, I think it's between us and QPR for the last spot, so here's to us bettering their result on the last day.

  6. I've looked at our remaining fixtures and I honestly can only see us picking up another 6 points this season. Of course there'll be one game where we get a surprise draw against a team we expected to lose against, but if I'm correct in my predictions then we really don't have a chance of getting out of this shit storm.

  7. what about get Emma Stone in as manager and she says

"whoever scores the most can smash me after the game"

Because a 0-0-10 formation would see us relegated?

How about "If we win, you can all smash me after the game"?

  8. So, this is my first post since joining after many years of anonymous lurking. Hi everyone!

Now, as much as I enjoyed Solskjaer-gate and the various other managerial speculations, this one is turning out to be just amazingly entertaining. Pulis? Sol Campbell? Brilliantly crazy stuff, and I'm sure there is more to come.

Oh, incognito avfc just posted 8 tweets. Haven't really got the hang of the character limit thing have they :-) So there are three candidates they say, and it sounds like no appointment soon to me.

Welcome Dean! I used to live in Lichfield. Well, Fradley.
Welcome Dean, I used to live in Yardley. I still live in Yardley.
I used to live in Yardley too.

It's not what it was 10, even 5 years ago now :/

  10. Think it's going to be Klinsman.

Klinsman till the end of the season wouldn't be a surprise. Solves our problem, he still has a job to go back to at the end of it and we get to appoint a long term replacement in the summer when he goes back. Win win.

  11. Actually checked after reading that prandelli was a villa fan thought people were just joking, but apparently he is.. would be well happy with prandelli as coach...

Doesn't have a very good win percentage as a manager

  12. The country will now think we're a circus, disgraceful behavior from the board from the way Lambo was sacked to this bull**** statement. We know there was no money to spend, the idea he had money to spend but refused to use it is ridiculous even at a base level, why would he tie his own hands? I wanted him to go but I feel sorry for him now.

  13. I've just posted about this in the new manager thread, I hadn't seen it on here. As I said, the fact that he asked for a face to face meeting suggests he really didn't want to go, and that makes me feel rubbish. Like I say I think he had to go, but the manner in which it was done was so gutless. I love my club but I really am ashamed of the men running it.

  14. I've just read about how Lambert was sacked. Fox called him at bodymoor heath and 'informed him of the boards decision'. Lambert was then refused when he asked for a face to face meeting. I agree that he had to go, I wanted him to go. But the chairman couldn't even do it face to face, and the CEO even had to do it over the phone. The fact that he asked for a face to face meeting suggests he really didn't want to go, and that makes me feel rubbish. Like I say I think he had to go, but the manner in which it was done was so gutless. I love my club but I really am ashamed of the men running it.
