Much like when videogames are announced too early, why bother putting this out there if they aren’t ready to show everyone. Much like waiting for Gerrard to get the sack everything seems to be taking an age with this club at the moment. ‘Glacial’ should be the new motto on the badge.
I think they are ready, just well aware this is the wrong climate to get fan support for what is essentially a complete rebranding of Aston Villa.
from a club business perspective this new badge is actually huge.
I suspect they will delay until a new manager is in OR we have a couple wins in the next 4 days.

He’s Chief Transfer News Officer at DeanJonesMedia and Lead Global Reporter on the Soccer Stats Patreon NFT Project bro. I’d put every DogeCoin I have on Alan Curbishley if Dean Jones told me to.
Trust me lads, this guy has info

Which pundit said we just have to win our next 2 and we’re ‘looking’ at 6th? Because I see Forest within 3 points of us and we’re only a point ahead of Southampton. Leicester are bottom and look terrible but finished 8th last season.
We’re in big trouble.

Just occurred to me yesterday that (1) generally it seems English footballers don’t make good managers (there’s so few exceptions like Potter, all the rest of the world’s elite teams are not managed by Englishmen) and (2) more broadly all former England players are terrible managers and there isn’t a single exception that occurs to me.
Why is that?
Playing the game at the top level and managing at it are very different skills.

I hope he gets a big helping of '**** off Gerrard, the Villa is ours' as we coast to a 3-0 win tomorrow.
we got a friendly?

What was impressive with this? He spends a good 13 mins saying both teams played 4-2-3-1 and describing the game. Then they went slightly more direct in second half. At the end Liverpool threw in two tall strikers in Benteke and Origi, so they played more 4-4-2 and more defensively in the last minutes.
It gave me as much as when Thierry Henry stood in a suit in the Sky Sports studio explaining vividly the super intelligent tactics of playing a through ball behind the defence and having a striker run for it.
I’ve watched 11 months of Gerrard ball.

I mean I am not saying he is a poor manager by any stretch, but that is a bit laughable and over the top. But hey ho. It's a random list someone did.
It’s a bit like someone doing a list of Greatest Prem Strikers ever and putting Ivan Toney and Callum Wilson in the top 50, I agree

Which game?
Brighton Forest - Brighton countering and on the edge of the Forest area but game halted because Brennan Johnson went to the floor after earlier getting a kick on the ankle.

I really don't see how those criteria warrants him a 13th place
Literally just going from being a Steve Bruce team to not a Steve Bruce team. The change he’s made is among the most significant of managers over that period. Obviously I know the mitigating circumstances that an inanimate carbon rod would have improved them after Bruce. It says club achievement is the parameter though and based on that I can see why even if I disagree with the conclusion made.

Kinda makes sense for Eddie Howe on those criteria. Southgate on the other hand…

Referee stopping the game there was ridiculous, how do they not know the rules?

can’t imagine Gerrard doing one of these

Some have said JJ playing on left of a front 3 I totally agree on thus his major skill is running with the ball and moving forward quickly.
I'm not surprised Slippy hasn't done this as he's clearly inept at setting us up correctly and playing certain player sin correct positions. Moving JJ forward allows the midfield to retain some sort of cohesion.
Luiz kamara sanson
Bailey ings Ramsey
Imo that midfield is far more balanced it could work, however never in a million years would Gerrard select this.
Gerrard played Ramsey there for the City game to be fair to him, it’s where the idea really gathered steam.

He doesn't look hammered to me. Looks like a dad that's only got 4 hours sleep due to a newborn.
Much like the performance against Chelsea wasn't terrible, this isn't an issue.
There are plenty of other issues though, and I'm shocked he still hasn't been sacked.
It’s not his baby, it’s the pub owners but there’s nothing I hate more than pearl clutching over normal private life things managers and players do.

25% of Telegraph readers want to see Villa suffer.

After his error on the weekend, did anyone see just after his wink? Who was that at? Emi?
Probably reading too much into it but why would he be winking like that, it was almost to say 'right, I've done my bit'.
I'd be very surprised though cos' Tyrone has always conducted himself immaculately on and off the pitch IMO - well, except when Zaha is in town and he tried to break him.
He was saying I know it’s my bad to his team mates while trying to stay composed, nothing more

This feels like and end of season relegation game where sections of the audience start cheering for no reason and it spreads.

if Tommy Jordan says he’s not sacked then it’s safe to assume he’s definitely sacked but with some subtle chevrons down it

Yes and he’s almost certainly in the top few for appearances over that period which dilutes the stat too. ‘Error’ is also subjective
