  1. For what it's worth a lot of the animals are much better off than humans when it comes to birth

That was the whole point of my original post!

Why do we not find ANY other animal that suffers or has more difficulty during childbirth?

TBH, you can't know the death rate or pain rate when giving birth of ALL species to claim that human's is the worst.

But why single out giving birth? Most animals have a better eyesight and can survive much longer without food/water, they can survive eating food that man could not, or drink dirty water directly from a pond, which humans can't. So what?

We're quite weak compared to most animals when it comes to abilites and instincts, our main advantage is the brain, this is why we survive as a species.

  2. Why say chances are? I thought this was done and dusted that Homo Sapiens had indeed evolved from Lucy type Hominids

Things are done and dusted only in religion. Not in science. Things change, even genious discoveries are build upon or disproven many years later. Just a couple of months ago CERN announced they might have discovered a particle that moves at a speed greater than the speed of light. If they can prove this it would ruin a lot of Einstein's theories, or at the least build upon them. There's nothing set in stone in science - it evolves.

As for pain during child birth. Evolution and pain have nothing in common whatsoever. Evolution does not care about pain, it doesn't give a shit about it as long as the species survive.

For what it's worth a lot of the animals are much better off than humans when it comes to birth, both as an easier way to do it and as their offspring being more or less self-sufficient in hours, days or weeks, unlike human babies, who need to be taken full care of for years. It only proves that human is not the be all and end all of evolution. No problem with that. There are countless of examples that show that different types fo animals have evolved certain aspects much better than human - eyesight, being able to survive for months without eating, etc.

No one says that man should be the best evolved in all possible aspects compared to animals, neither does it mean that there is a certain time period over which a man should or should not evolve in a certian manner, i.e. it might take 10 million years for man to stop feeling pain when giving birth, or a few thousand years or it might never happen. Means nothing from an evolutionary point of view - if the pain is too bad and prevents people from mating and giving birth, then the species will disappear from the face of the earth. Evolution doesn't give a **** about it.

  3. Can i ask a question...

If there is a God, why does such horrible things happen to good people? why are children born with disabilities? why do good people die young?

Well duh... because a few thousand years ago a talking snake lied to Adam so he ate from the fruit of knowledge, which enforced the original sin everyone is born with. Seriously, can you think of a worse thing a man could do than eating an apple? Cardinal sin, I tells you!

  4. Basically the almighty awful **** sin entered the earth because a snake forced Adam to eat the fruit of knowledge(!) and this is why all people are born with an original sin and condemned to spend an eternity in hell. Such a naughty thing to do, feckin apples! What's not to believe here?

  5. Tbh most people who consider themselves christians haven't read the bible at all, they just have their hypocritical ways around it and remember they're christians only on easter, christmas, etc. I can understand these people.

However, anyone who has actually read the bible, cover to cover, and still worships this **** up diety the book describes, is totally mental IMO.

  6. Anders Friden

I'v always like In Flames but still see them as a poor mans At The Gates. All good frontmen/women!

In Flames, At The Gates and Dark Tranquility are pretty much the same band, tbh, they've even exchanged members, so I see them as a unity more or less ( even though their styles are slighty different ).

  7. Henry at Arsenal PMSL :lol:

Agree he will be back to mediocre soon enough. He's lucky his first goal went in as he should have undoubtedly passed to Bent there.

Do you think Bent would have passed to Gabby if their positions were reversed? No **** way.

  8. If he's only going to give us one good game in five, will that ever qualify him to be called a "good player"?

That's the player we've bought , though. We may expect him to elevate his game now that he's in a better team but we've bought an inconsistent player. Ask any Wigan fan and they'll confirm this ( all 5 of them ).

I'm sure he'll settle and show good form as the season progresses, but it's not fair to him to have the burden of replacing Young or Downing or both of them, as he's never shown he's on their level yet, contrary to some posters' views.

Let's hope he will be someday.

  9. There are many theories and speculation, no one knows exactly what happened.

What is a fact is that when your emplyer **** you over, you're entitled to a compenasion, when you throw your toys out of the pram and just walk, you're not. Both MON and Houllier got compensation. Simple conclusion is...

  10. Houllier left us in the shit and claimed compensation too, tbh.

Houllier was in effect sacked by Lerner and thus received a severance package

Exactly, he was forced out, which is why he got the compo. Just like MON.

  11. Well I wouldnt worry mate because we now have a 2 star manager that can deliver a 2 star service..Dunne and co' are at his level and happy as punch, whilst Bent, N'Zogbia, Albrighton, Bannan and Clark(the 5 stars) are unhappy at the standards of the toilets and dirty sheets. Watch this space because like Young,Makoun and Downing the 5 star employers will soon be looking to join a hotel that understands they offer a 5 star service.

FWIW I agree with this wholeheartedly ( apart from Makoun being 5 star ).

  12. Good post above..

Houllier is like a 5 star hotelier going to run a 2 star hotel..He has the 5 star standards and can deliver the 5 star service...But unfortunately the old existing staff were too set in their ways of not cleaning the toilets properly or changing sheets properly...Yet Houllier could train the new recruits and young college staff how to change the sheets and clean the toilets but the old timers could never grasp it.. And unfortunately the 5 star Hotelier was never going to drop his standards and say its ok to not clean toilets or change sheets properly..He would continue with his standards and drill it into the old staff that he wants a 5 star service..

If you replace '5' with '1' it'd make perfect sense, judging on the actual facts of his reign, rather than on utopic fan visions of grandeur.

The club saw that and kicked him out even though the doctors gave him a pass for his medical condition. He must thank GMac for steering the ship well in the end of the season.

  13. Even in the short time he was here we seen improvements to our players games. Ashley Young became more dynamic and intelligent. Gabby from what I've seen this season looks a lot more skilful and intelligent player, I credit this to Houllier.

Please tell us you're taking the piss, please.

  14. Neither, but this

I don't believe for one minute that the situation in relation to spending and wages this summer would have been any different if Houllier had remained in place of McLeish which is a scary thought for me. Houllier couldn't produce the results last season with greater resources so there is no way he would have done any better this season with less resources and the same defence.

Working under the condiditions McLeish appears to be working at this summer/season I think Houllier could well have taken us down this season and would have likely signed a lot of players totally unsuited to the PL.

is spot on. So, on reflection, have to say Eck gets the nod.
