  1. I'd be very impressed if they have a replacement lined up already. Would mean they're professional and cutthroat. None of that 'we're scheduling interviews' stuff.

Also time to waive their big ... money  around and get someone good.

Whoever our new manager is, he will be stuck with the most over rated and over paid squad in thePL. There can be no quick fix. Gerrard has been rubbish but the players have not been much better. Anybody who gets this lot to 40 points is a miracle worker.

7 of the current regulars started in the 7-2 win against Liverpool not too long ago. The others were Targett, Trez and Barkley - all deemed not good enough.

  3. Finally! Couple of months too late but still.

The club's statement is interesting , no thanks or pleasantries, basically the closest to GTFO a professional message could look. I imagine other heads might roll.

    Get the next appointment right!

  4. One of the biggest issues with these types of ahem 'pragmatic' coaches like Bruce and Gerrard is that even at their projected best you're looking at poor football and entertainment, poor player development, no youth breaking through because results and so on. So even if it works for a while and they stumble upon a few 1-0 wins it's a bad long term strategy and only a matter of time before luck dries up.

How do you know what grade it is? Or can it only possibly be one of those two if we've decided to not perform surgery at this stage?

Is there anyway we can determine if it's ACL or another ligament?

Seeming like you know a bit about this stuff, what's the success ratio of non-surgery recovery from these types of injuries?

There are usually 3 grades for sprains - 1 is mild and 3 is a full tear, which definitely requires surgery. Since it appears that he won’t need surgery and judging by the time he’s expected to be off we, as internet doctors, can safely conclude it’s a grade 2 sprain.

He’ll rest some, get some therapy and will probably be re-evaluated in 6 weeks so we’ll know more by then.

  6. I had a sprained MCL not too long ago. Took me more than two months until I was able to run normally. Obviously I didn’t have the top treatment a premier league player would.

Hopefully it’s not more than a sprain. Fingers crossed.

All his mates coming out to say to stick with him and defend him. The latest being his best mate carragher.

Why cant they be honest and just highlight his faults so he actually learns something instead of trying to polish a turd and say its the fans being inpatient

If we saw anything improvement a glimmer then he would have the fans. But the truth  if the matter is we are significantly worse

This is why I never bother with pundits, articles, analysts, etc. - they’re openly dishonest, no real insight, heavily biased. Literally no one provides analysis that is more sophisticated than your average Joe in a pub would. It’s all so boring and useless it’s just a waste of time.

Avoiding listening to these frauds before and after a game, reading the articles and even watching games on mute is a genuine improvement.

Nowadays there are a lot of good podcasts, youtube channels and other similar avenues to get actually good information. TV and papers are way behind on provided value even for the more casual fans.

I don't understand this situation. Luiz wanted to go to Arsenal. They bid £25m for him and he has under a year left on his deal. It is almost a certainty he will not extend that deal, especially now.

So it's do we value Luiz services for the season over that of the money?

The only thing I can think of is the youth players. Ramsey and Iregobunam and the level they will be at come next summer. Which combined with Luiz performance for the season is their preferred plan

I'll try to explain. Gerrard is gone. They all know he is and he has no say in transfer dealings at all. And no, they should never have put themselves in such a situation - he should have already been sacked, but hey ho.

So, they've taken a stance that no one is leaving until the new manager could come and assess the squad.

Also, as you've said, they're in a decent position financially, so it's not that much of a deal even if he ends up walking. More of an opportunity cost.

How can we be narrow when we have full backs on the wings and centre mids at full back!?

Well we're a special case of having the worst of all worlds - narrow offensively where we somehow manage to have players getting in each other's way AND having no one to pass to.

Then we're wide open on the flanks when other teams counter attack and wide open in the middle when other teams build their attacks.

I think it takes a special ability to get so many things completely wrong.
