  1. FWIW, i think he's shown that he can bridge the gap between youth/reserve level and premiership. he certainly hasn't baulked at the opportunity he has been given.
  2. FWIW, i think he'll be starting regularly next season alongside gav. Unless we buy Parker or similar. and then he'll be snookered ...
  3. The Stag has 2 votes! :wow:
  4. agreed. just wanted him in there for comedy value :wow: he was in the best newcomer poll, but not this one :?
  5. Hooray where's BOF  How much does SD pocket for this win?
  6. This will be a bigger landslide than Labour's 1997 Election win. I think Stevey boy is on cue to win this one hands down. Where's the option for Carlton? Isn't he still young enough? Don't know his exact DOB though.

Elies comes on here and pretends to be John Lerwill 8)
  8. so it was you!
  9. surely it's a season long thing though Bri? I just feel that, over the season, SD has contributed/impressed me more, all things considered. Not just who is, at the moment, the more important player. If that were the vote, I would indeed go for ML.
  10. not an age thing really Bri. more of a "expectation" type of thing. SD has really come from nowhere and achieved a hell of a lot IMO this season. Whilst ML has done really well "in the last few games", to be honest i expected him to do well, given his pedigree before we signed him. For me, SD has played consistently well since he got into the team. And he looks like he could hold down a place despite the competion for midfield places at Villa. These were all factors i took into consideration. Now't really to do with how "old" ML is, as that's irrelevant.
  11. I noticed the 1 vote for Carlton Cole wonder what name he uses when he posts on here
  12. agree in some respects, in that Laursen does look class. However, he should do really, shouldn't he. He's at his peak, has played in Serie A and at the World Cup for Denmark and has now been around a while. Davis for me also looks class. He has just broken into the Villa first team and has legitimate claims for a starting berth alongside Gav when all are fit. And this is his first full season. And he's just a wee nipper. And he cost us "now't". And he's also now wjust become a full international (admittedly for N Ire). I really do like the look of this guy
  13. surely Stevey has to win this hands down? it's between him and ML, but to be honest, when we signed ML we already knew he was class from playing in Italy and from the World Cup. Also, whilst ML is class, he hasn't played that many games for us really yet, has he. Steven Davies has simply been a revelation for me, and the sign of his ability can be judged that when Gav returns fit, many on here (me included) would have him as first choice partner for Gav. That's how good the guy is.

of those listed, i'd go for Amstel. Don't see it on draught in bars very often in this country though. not round here anyway
  17. I had Dyer on points too. faster hands i reckon. Would dance around the nasty little racist rat boy and pick him off with the jab, no question. looks a fitter type of bloke - more equipped for boxing than Bowyer who is a bit more weasel like in my book. Dyer i reckon has far more upper body strength. Dyer on points/late knock-out. Let's get it on - there would be plenty of takers to watch this fight - more so than those "celebrity" fights they have.
  18. how can anyone vote for Davis FFS. He didn't play last season, so how is he our most improved player. Ditto Luke. Not knocking 'em, as i think they're both class (esp Davis). Lee played pretty well last season for DOL, IIRC. For me, Nobby came in in January and took quite a long time to settle for someone who we knew was class. He put in some average displays, but this season knows his team mates much better, has found his feet, and looks the Newcastle Nobby we all thought we'd bought originally. So I voted for him. Gaz Baz would've been my 2nd choice. A player who had a difficult season last year as he adapted to DOL's slightly different style of play, having been player of the season the previous season. This season, he has shown many signs of returning to the form of GT's final season in charge. Ridge an honorary third for me. Nobody else really merits consideration, in that they either didn't play last season, or played so well last season they have struggled to better it this. IMO Now, as someone has suggested, a vote on most declined player would be very interesting i think, with some high profile names involved i would've thought.
  19. i think we're stuck in the episode where all actions result in terminal mediocrity with no hope of breaking the timewarp loop. It's a living nightmare. Where's spock when you need him? "Elies' continued existence as Chairman is illogical, Captain"
  20. why no options for Pugwash, Scarlett, or Caveman :?
  21. went for Gav. simply because there's no-one else. there are a lack of captains in the squad.
