  1. O'Neill is the only scum that I view below McLeish. He had no issues in screwing us over and setting us up for relegation and he'll delight in seeing us go down this season. Should be booed - along with McLeish !!!

  2. Not sure where everyone gets the loyalty rubbish from?

Hes looked the most disinterested person at villa park for some time.

Awful! Was embarrased watching him yesterday.

    +1 +1 +1

Definitely playing his worst football EVER and looks like he does not give a damn at the moment !

  3. Two embarrassments stood out (from many) yesterday ...... Ashley Young who demonstrated what a scumbag he really is and Gabby who played like he couldn't give a toss for Villa. If that's what Gabby thinks being captain is all about then heaven help us ..... no effort, bad attitude and all round one of the worst performances from a Villa player I have EVER seen. Shame on him !

  4. Very good first half - then the manager gets to talk to them - then a garbage second half - go figure !

Great when we are in the ascendency but the moment the opposition up their game we just pull everybody back and start praying. Don't mind if its Man Ure or Arsenal but Blackburn ?!!!!

We should have gone after them in the second half - kept them on the back foot and kept the fans on their backs,

    Tactical failure again !

    OUT !

  5. When a manager clearly sets out to "play safe" against the worst team in the league, you know it is time to get rid of that manager. He has no respect for Villa and no ambition beyong survival. He still thinks he's at the Sty and he can't get it into his head that this club has a tradition and has an ambition and has fans who won't celebrate avoiding the drop by one place !

  6. Petrov is a hard grafting, honest individual but his negativity and lack of vision holds us back. His first reaction is always to pass backwards and give somebody else responsibility and he sets the tone for a dull, stodgy, predictable midfield unit. Get rid please !

  7. Came out second half with "WE ARE GONNA LOSE" tattoed across their foreheads. They needed to be ready for the inevitable onslaught but looked like rabbits in the headlights. Tactical failure again - a decent coaching team would have had them prepared for what Arsenal would throw at us and would have had a tactical answer. We didn't ...... FAIL !

  8. How is it that practically every team we play can pass the ball around better than us?

Because all the others pass AND move whereas we just pass !

Watch our midfield players when they make those short - usually backwards - passess. They stand still or stroll around, they don't make themselves available for the ball because they don't want the ball.

Players like Cowans in the 80s made the same sort of passes but he'd be on his toes immediately to offer a good return pass. He used other players to manouvre the ball forward - our midfield just look to offload responsibility and leave the back four to make all the big passes.

Petrov is the worst of all and, in my opinion, is massively to blame for many of our problems. Yes he works hard, yes he sweats a lot but he drains confidence from all around him because he refuses to pass forward and refuses to run with the ball. He leads by example but its a bad example and he needs to be offloaded to a Championship side or lower (eg: SPL).

  9. Bent is worth naff all and if anybody offers upwards of a fiver, we should grab it. He's the wrong player for this team - he contributes nothing unless you set him up for point-blank tap-ins. He is a useless target man, can't win headers, can't hold the ball up, has no pace and is clueless outside the box. We have proven to be a far better team without him so SEL, SELL, SELL !

My only worry is what the carrot head will do with the money !!!

  10. Does anyone else believe Alex tries to instill a pass-and-move attitude like the Swansea manager so obviously does?

He does - but without the "move" !!!

He bases his tactics and strategy on playing subuteo where nobody moves and you just pass from static player to static player until, eventually, somedody misjhits it and possession is lost.

Nobody on the team will run with the ball because they are clearly scared to make a mistake - presumably because the head carrot has told them to keep possession at all cost. On the few occasions a Villa player runs with the ball, the opposition go on the back-foot, gaps open up and we look the business - as at Chelsea - but at home we don't move and make it easy for teams to defend against us.

  11. GUZAN 5/10 - had little to do but at fault for second goal

WARNOCK 3/10 - awful first half - was ok when Swansea decided to sit back !

DUNNE 6/10 - solid and showed some passion at times

COLLINS 4/10 - off form, no presence, slack marker, liability

CUELLAR 6/10 - composed, steady, best full back we have !

N'ZOGBIA 4/10 - odd touch of class but too slow and lacking in confidence - SELL

PETROV 4/10 - dull, negative, no class, sweats a lot !

CLARK 5/10 - will benefit from experience but needs to !

IRELAND 7/10 - the only quality on the team and he gets taken off - go figure !

AGBONLAHOR 4/10 - once shackled just sulked and drifted out of game again !

BENT 2/10 - lazy, contributes nothing, creates nothing, worth nothing - SELL

MCLEISH 2/10 - one shot on target at home - clueless - no tactical nous - out of his depth - destroying decent players - destroying decent club - SELL/FIRE !!!

  12. and then i witness an even more defensive performance.....chris waddle got it spot on when he said we look like a team that only cares about the opposition...

anybody watch the newcastle game? they lost 3-0 but played some really nice football with players no better than ours...

how? coz they played to their strengths...didnt worry about chelsea's players and everyone is saying they didnt deserve to get beat 3-0....

Spot on - McLeish bases his tactics 100% on stopping the opposition instead of using what he has to put the opposition on the back foot and that is unacceptable, especially at home. He's managed to turn proven attacking midfielders into second rate defenders !
