Good deal in my books ..... let him go !

We tend to get too close to our players and, as a result, overvalue them. Downing has done pretty well this season compared to previous seasons here but that's it really ...... compared to previous seasons here where he has been dire if we were honest. The occasional glimpse of form in the odd game or £12M ? I know which one I'd choose !

Downing is very much part of the "dead wood" that needs pruning out from the club if we are to move forward.

Said it back then, I'll say it again - MON is the perfect Aston Villa manager and losing him was the biggest mistake ever, if its anybody to blame, it should be those responsible for his departure.

Any "perfect" Villa manager would never walk out a few days before the start of a season putting his ego ahead of the welfare of the club and knowing full well that he was condeming the club to serious problems.

MON could have been very good here but his ego was way too big and his pig-headed attitude to who played and who didn't told me months ago that he'd be out sooner than later.

First goal was a dodgy penalty, the second never crossed the line, the third was offside and the fourth was a blatant dive ...... aside from that, Villa were well on top.

This team is f*cked because MON f*cked it and I'd rather have bowel cancer than have MON back. GH is trying to make MON's team work but the fact is too many of those players either won't play or can't play under GH so f*ck 'em, get rid and lets start again with players who play for the badge on the front and not the name on the back !

Back in the early 1980s, I went to Ipswich with my best mate and was jumped on the way from the station by four low-lifes who knocked my mate to the floor with a drop-kick from behind that left him injured. Despite the odds, I lashed out at everyone who got near to protect my mate and to protect myself.

When the police arrived, I was carted off along with one of the scum who attacked us - the others legged it. I got off with a warning but by your standards I'm a criminal and should be banned from Villa matches ...... is that right ?!!!

Some of the posts on here are just unreal ! I don't condone any form of violence but get real here - a bunch of knuckle draggers come steaming into your face, threatening to beat the crap out of you, throwing stuff, spitting on you and more and you are supposed to do what ? Stand there and say "hey, I don't condone violence so I'll just ignore you ?".

It was heat of the moment big time, people were angry, people were scared and in those circumstances any human being will respond otherwise there is something not quite right about them.

The failing inside the ground was WMP+Nose Stewards+SHA and what Villa did in response should not be over-analysed as they found themselves in a real shite situation so unless you were there and facing those scumbags then you shouldn't judge.

My mate reckoned it was a major balls-up by WMP and Nose Stewards. Five minutes from time, loads of noses had moved pitch side and were making it very clear what they intended doing on the final whistle and yet there was just a handful of stewards covering the noses stands and two lines of WMP and stewards stacked in front of Villa and facing them as though they expected Villa on the pitch ...... like why would Villa invade the pitch if they've lost ?!!!!

Once the nose invasion started, the WMP/stewards set their line up right in front of Villa thus allowing near face-to-face confrontation whereas had they moved the line 20 yards up the pitch then little or nothing would have happened.

Crass failure on crowd control !

Defensively I thought we did okay but going forward we were mostly ineffective. Downing is okay in his good moments but they are rare, Young is brilliant for about two minutes in every game - apart from that he is lazy and contributes nothing, Ireland looks unfit and distracted and really shouldn't be in the team on that form, Petrov is out there - somewhere - but didn't notice he was playing until the second half !

A lot of players need to be benched and given a kick up the backside and my hope is that we sell Young before other teams realise how over-rated he really is and spend that money on two or three genuinely quality players !

The only difference between two very good sides today was Ashley Young who was garbage - poor touch, poor attitude, poor passing, poor decision making, poor workrate. Come on GH, have the bottle to dump him in the reserves for a few weeks !!!

I'd take Stuart Pearce with Sid Cowans as assistant !

You can't blame them for going for the money. If some dude offered you 3 or 4 times your current salary for doing the same job, would you really say "no" ?

What annoys me is that the players don't have the balls to admit they are going for the money and instead spout all this rubbish about European football and moving to a "bigger club" (yeah right !).

Admit its for the money and I'd respect them more !

Milner is well over-rated - on his day he is world class but, lets be honest, in the time he has been here he has been distinctly average as many times as he has been standout. Decent player, prefer to keep him but if anybody offers above £20M then we should rip their arm off fast.

Summed up the season today !

25 crosses - all dire. Blackburn's one cross is quality and they score.

Half-time - game is complete stalemate - Allardyce changes tactics, MON does bugger all because he only has one tactic.

Defeat was inevitable and deserved !

Shed load of new forwards needed, Young needs to be traded for loads of £££ and if anybody offers moneyfor MON, get rid and bring in Hodgson - a proper tactician !

Can somebody just confirm what time the game kicks off as I'm getting everything from 8:30pm GMT to 10:30pm GMT !!!
