  1. Come down the A605 Oundle Road (you'll be on it if you are coming along A14 anyway and ignore your Sat Navs taking you right across to the A1). The A605 leads right up to the ground and on your left as you get within half a mile of the ground are a couple of pubs advertising a welcome for away fans - they are also close to the car park and ground so ideal.

  2. Daniel - they said the game would be up at 10am GMT.

    Edit: link.

The entire 90 minutes from Philadelphia Union v Villa, Chicago Fire v Villa and Portland Timbers v Villa will be available in the morning UK time - 10am for Philadelphia and Chicago and 12noon for Portland.

Shouldn't they have dropped the "at 10am" and replaced it with "at some point when we can be bothered and, in the meantime, we'll plaster the result all over AVTV so that you can't enjoy it even when we do bother to put it up" ?!!!

  3. Well I signed up for a month's AVTV subscription solely on the promise they gave that you'd be able to watch the US Tour games at 10am on the morning after the matches but its 11am now and not only nothing but loads of "spoilers" all over AVTV to give the result away so ...... totally p*ssed off now and I feel like AVTV has conned me into a subscripton !

  4. That can only be seats as the Moys End terraces hold several thousand. They are supposed to be redoing the away end next season but the POSH website suggests it is open to away fans for the Villa game.

Never bothered with tickets for this one - just turn up and pay on the day - there will be no problems getting in.

  5. I know its not the thing to say but I really think we will be making a big mistake to get rid of McLeish.

His track record shows that he always improves in his second season and, whether you like it or not, he has made us stronger defensively and helped develop some of our younger players too.

Get a couple of decent players in this summer and give him a chance to establish his style and I think we can go places.

    Alternatively ...........

...... get rid of the useless ginger air bandit right now and get the party started !!!

  6. What happened to the old Gabby that would just out sprint everyone on the pitch? Houllier told him to hit the gym and he gained some muscle but lost speed.

I think you'll find MON told him to bulk up as he wasn't strong enough on the ball. Houllier told him he was overweight and needed to lose weight - Gabby publicly disagreed but Houllier was right.

Ash never bulked up and look where his career has gone - Gabby did the weights and has now lost too much of his pace as a result.

I'd give him a season under a new manager but it should be his last unless he gets himself sorted as he is a poor Championship player (on a good day) at the moment.

  7. To be fair, the players WERE garbage today. I lost count of the number of times Villa players made no effort to battle for loose balls even when it was them who gave the ball away. Gabby may as well have carried a board proclaiming "I don't give a shite" because he clearly didn't and nor did many others.

Whatever is going wrong at VP, it is clearly a disease that has spread throughout the entire roster and that can only mean its coming from the core which is McLeish and his supporting cast.

  8. A good manager is always one who gets more out of a team than the sum total of its parts. A poor manager is one who gets less out of a team than the sum total of its parts.

The likes of Ireland, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Albrighton, Dunne, Collins (and more) are playing worse now than they were at their peaks in the past ...... he has failed to get the best out of any player and that, for me, should be the only criteria Lerner should be judging him by.

What is the point in giving him funds to buy another exciting player because you can gaurantee he will drain any flare or talent from them and process them through the Eck Convertor machine to produce yet another hesitant, defensive and sterile player to add to the roster.

  9. Need Man City to stay in the title hunt until the final weekend when they play QPR. If man Ure win on Monday and the last weekend means nothing to them then I'll gaurantee they will roll over and gift QPR three points !

  10. Funny thing today was watching the bagwash fans spunking over their programmes at being above us in the league and then watching Villa with the ginger clunge in charge and playing the worst football they've played in a generation, outplaying them for most of the game. Just proved that for all the handicaps we have at the moment, we remain the ONLY big club in the Midlands and remain top dogs in the region !
