Double barrelled surnames really grate on me. Pick a surname and stick with it. Nobody gives a shit that your parents split up, either pick your mother's surname or your fathers and that's it.

    What an incredibly ignorant comment.

"How dare people do things differently than what I think is normal!!!"

  2. Passing out of the back has been poor. No idea why Carlos is the one trying to force all these passes forward when it’s the best part of Pau’s game. Mings/Konsa would normally recycle until they see an opening, but it looks like the defense out there doesn’t look confident enough to do that yet.

Why not have a look at Marschall, We learn absolutely nothing from Olsen starting

Not only does playing get Olsen used to starting games in Emery's system, it also puts him in the shop window for other teams if we're actively trying to sell.

Is Tim Howard starting tonight? 😎

Maybe I'm so desensitized to awful commentators over here in the USA, because I don't mind Tim Howard at all.  For someone with Tourettes and OCD it's amazing that he was able to play football at a Premier League level, let alone commentate on games.  He doesn't hold a candle to the Four Horsemen of Shitty American Soccer TV Commentators (Alexi Lalas, Alejandro Moreno, Taylor Twellman, & Julie Foudy).

Peacock is a great channel. Their punditry are very neutral too when covering games unlike the circus you get on sky. On Peakcock you don't see waxing lyrical about the same top 4 teams week after week.

NBC's entire Premier League coverage team is universally loved in the USA.  Very good quality all the way around in analysts and commentators and their production.

Except Sevilla, they’ve won several Europa Leagues doing just that, and with our current President of Football Operations as their Sporting Director no less.

Yeah?  Then why are the in the middle of a financial mess right now?  They're trying to sell anyone and everyone in the team to try to balance their books.  5 years from now they'll be yet another cautionary tale.

  7. Needs another season on loan in the Championship.  Not good enough for the first team yet and was the worst of our Championship loanees last season, including KKH.  I want him to succeed at Villa, but the amount of unwarranted praise he gets from Villa supporters is kind of ridiculous right now.  On the other hand, Aaron Ramsey played very well for TWO Championship clubs last season and I rarely see him get hyped up.

Spurs are FOOKED...  Kane will be off, their owner is going to face jail time for insider trading, and they're going to struggle to finish in the European places this upcoming season.  Going back to being a midtable club again.

Regardless of if this all comes off, it's hard to deny that they've created a genuine buzz about their league. I don't remember anyone particularly caring about the Chinese Super League about a decade ago, but right now the Saudi league seems to be dominating football discourse. You're starting to see people (jokingly usually) picking one of the top 4 Saudi clubs to support, and it seems that the 4 clubs (+ Al Ettifaq) are teams most football fans can name off the top of their heads if asked a trivia question etc. Whether it actually usurps European football remains to be seen, and frankly is quite a big ask...but they're growing the profile of football in their country for sure.

I still think their endgame is bribing UEFA/FIFA to have the KSA's League join European competitions within a few years.  At that point, there is no stopping them from building the best teams in the world.
