Its a bit like us reeeeealy wanting to see the great wall of China, but instead of going to see it ourselves we just bring it to England.
**** them. -
I've never noticed the outside facilities at Citeh, but then I drink in town and walk past Mary D's, which looks like a small prison, and into the away end.
I am not interested in seeing live bands or outside bars selling me official beers at £4.50 a go or any of that other half and half scraf sounding, post-1992 shite.
and maybe thats our mentality.
Personally, I would love kids from london to aske their dads to come to Birmingham for the weekend to watch us play and get a 50/50 scarf. Isnt that what is know as a 'PR win'?

Afternoon!
I had a pleasure to go to the Man Citeh vs Roma game last week. The game itself was pretty cool as I never went to Champions League match before, but as we all know by now the support was dreadful. I can't even describe the lack of the atmosphere that was surrounding me. Well, that's what I thought as soon as I walked into Etihad. Before that though...
...I thought I was in the football Mecca. The outside facilities were amazing; the great club shop, the bars, the atmosphere. They had a live band playing, there were massive screens next to lovely bars so that all the fans could get a few bevs. It was as if the game was one part of the experiance. The build up was an experiance in itself. Even before the game started, there were vidoes about 'blue moon rising' and all that crap; but it was a great 'show'.
Then I thought about how we miss this at VP. When I go to VP I go to see a football game, and thats about it. There is no entertainment, and lets face it, when we lose at home on regular basis I am very suprised we still manage to get a 40k crowd once in a while.
And then I realised how important it is to get the North Stand re-build ASAP. The parking lot behind it could be used for a Club Museum, new shop, great bars and massive screens. That would attract more families coming to see us, as it would no longer simply be 'a game'. It would be an experiance.
This links to what some of us have been noticing but I never really got this until the Man City V Roma game. Our potential.
If we improved the infrastructure, we could be MASSIVE. Why does our club do so little to improve it's standing with the fans? Why can't we dig in into this mine of oppurtunity, and make VP a 'theatre' where whole families can go and enjoy themselves before and after the show?
If we can't get things right on the pitch, why can't we do this outside of it? Obviously investment is the answer... Do you think Tom Fox realises this problem? Will the new owner look into it?- 2

Only the bravest dare to stand in front of the mirror at midnight and call Roy's name 3 times

Can we finally produce a Bale-esque player?

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/06/roy-keane-manchester-united-sir-alex-ferguson
An interview with MUTV in which Keane criticised a number of his team-mates following a lacklustre performance in a 4-1 defeat by Middlesbrough had weakened the midfielder’s position at the club but he writes that a fierce falling out with Queiroz on a pre-season training camp on the Algarve was the final straw.
“He was just on my right shoulder; how I didn’t **** hit him again – I was thinking, ‘The villa in Portugal, not treating me well in training – and he just used the word “loyalty” to me,’” said Keane.
“I said, ‘Don’t you **** talk to me about loyalty, Carlos. You left this club after 12 months a few years ago for the Real Madrid job. Don’t you dare question my loyalty. I had opportunities to go to Juventus and Bayern Munich.’ And while we’re at it we spoke about training downstairs. And were just on about mixing things up in training a bit.”
Keane went on to reveal that Ferguson soon stepped in, saying: “That’s enough. I’ve had enough of all this,” which prompted the midfielder to round on his manager, replying: “You as well gaffer. We need **** more from you. We need a bit more, gaffer. We’re slipping behind other teams.”
Keane’s bust-up with Schmeichel came much earlier in his Manchester United career, on their pre-season tour to Asia in 1998, with the midfielder adding: “I had a bust-up with Peter when we were on a pre-season tour of Asia in 1998, just after I came back from my cruciate injury. I think we were in Hong Kong. There was drink involved.
“He said, ‘I’ve had enough of you, It’s time we sorted this out.’ So I said ‘OK’ and we had a fight. It felt like 10 minutes. There was a lot of noise – Peter’s a big lad. I woke up the next morning. I kind of vaguely remembered the fight. My hand was really sore and one of my fingers was bent backwards.
“The manager had a go at us as we were getting on the bus, and people were going on about a fight in the hotel the night before. It started coming back to me – the fight between me and Peter.
“In the meantime Nicky Butt had been filling me in on what had happened the night before. Butty had refereed the fight. Anyway, Peter had grabbed me, I’d head-butted him – we’d been fighting for ages. At the press conference, Peter took his sunglasses off. He had a black eye. The questions came at him: ‘Peter, what happened to your eye?’”
Awesome to have such a role model at the club for the youngsters to look up to.
Reading his last book he is certainly a walking contradiction.
He talks about being professional and loyalty on one page, then talks about holding the club for ransom for 90k a week and going back to Ireland every week to get pissed.
He is a complex one is Keane, the last book was a great read, he is emotionally unhinged though, came across as being full of self doubt too.
but then most 'macho bullies' are full of self doubt

I actually went to this game, and I asked myself the same question. Waht I found was that they took it for granted. More so, they were disguisted with the performance as they strive to be the best. I remember Yaya making a mistake and a couple of fans started singing 'happy birthday'...
I reckon for the first 2 seasons we would sell out. But then, after 3-4 years, I am not sure I would spend 40 quid to see some weak team from Ukraine or Cyprus play... (not that Roma is a poor team at all!) -
They play paranoid when the team comes out for the second half. Clearly Ozzy buying the club is on the cards.
That would make the home games a whole lot more interesting if the Prince Of Darkness himself owned us. Who knows, he might even put some bite into our attack!
he even has is Iron Man in Roy Keane

just found it. Fair Play Disco Lambo. -
The truth is that the newspapers (and especially us) have no idea whether the club is up for sale for 100million, 110 million or 97million.
Further, we have no idea if this is a lot of money (comparisons to spurs are just not adequate!)
A new owner is not looking at buying a football club. They are looking at buying a BUSINESS, and Villa are a low profit business (in fact we are a no profit business at the minute), and here is some evidence to prove it
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-post-518m-loss-6759930Would you throw any money if you know that there is a massive risk of not getting a return at all, or even worse (which thank God looks unlikely) Villa being relegated?
I simply do not understand how some of us take our rumoured price (which I am 100% sure is BS anyway) to be a 'bargain'; or even some of us seem to suggest that 5million this way or that way is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. The potential buyers are rich because for them a difference between 100million or 105 million might be massive.

Westwood is really comfortable on the ball. He is class.

If I was a black manager, and I got offered an interview simply because of my skin colour I would probably sue them for racism.

No, you shouldn't. I agree fully. One good game from Baker doesn't change everything. Maybe the "much" is a bit much.Should I get my coat if I claim that Clark is a much better player than Baker based on last seasons performances? Early on last season Vlaar + Clark looked rather decent to me... (hence we did not experiance a thrashing up until later in the season)
I concur
and I was getting myself ready for a crucifixion...

There used to be a street named after Roy Keane, but it had to be re-named as nobody crosses Roy Keane and lives.

Ill get the game rolling...
The fear of spiders is called arachnophobia. The fear of tight spaces is called chlaustrophobia.
The fear of Roy Keane is called logic. -
Sounded alright in the Upper Holt.Oh yeah....the atmosphere was utter garbage from the word go.
As an absolute minimum the club should look at a designated singing area....it is very hard to start or join in a song when the next interested person is ten seats away. And I don't mean the second half, which was understandable for its deathly hush.
Designated singing area would be absolutely horrible. Something SHA would do.
I was in the upper holte as always. It was like a morgue.
I don't care whether blues would do it.
We should have an area you can go to sing. It doesn't stop other people joining in but would ensure those that want to can. Like at away games where pretty much everyone does.
It is getting more and more important as the number of people who only get vocal when something is provided for them increases.
For years it has got slowly worse.
For the first 30 minutes I felt as if we actually believe we can win the league. We didnt shut up for half an hour! And after that... morgue.

Today he was poor. Or at least we would consider this as a poor performance if it was pulled by Andi or Zog.
HOWEVER;he is 18. He showed that he has got a lot of promise, and had all the right ideas; ideas that show his pure talent. He is nowhere near as good of a trained footballer as the rest of the squad today. But what we did see was the signs of endless talent in this guy. He will be brilliant, no doubt. I think he will be better than Young or Gabby in their prime. Lets just give him some time to develop into a senior footballer.

Can we all now hug and kiss, and agree that Westwood is essential for a solid Villa midfield?

I notice Roy Keane didn't catch it, he probably to it to get fecked!
Viruses are afraid of Keane.
Keane does not get viruses, its the viruses that get Keane.

If anyone is deliberating over going tomorrow but have the time and money to make it I urge you to do so.
Let's remind everyone including the players of just how big a club we are with the right sprinkle of motivation
I didnt buy the ticket as I am broke after a long holiday, but this post made me think that this is Villa we are talking about.
Called the office, 15 quid student bargain. Upper Holte here I come!
UP THE VILLA!

Can this guy play as a Cb too? In case Vlaar, Senderos or Okore gets injured? Baker and Clark should never be an option
so baker can play LB? No, thank you.
