I just love Putin's arguments. Ukraine is a false state.

What about Kaliningrad and Karelia Putin? Or anything East of the Volga and south of the Don.

It's like he chooses which time his arguments work and totally neglects the times after the times where newly acquired territory suddenly is 100% Russian. No one can use Putin's arguments against him, because he says so! Nursery-argumentation.

Tucker might as well have just given Putin the mic and left the room, he didn't even ask one question that wasn't licking Putin's boots. Jesus.

I liked how he referenced how Poland worked with Nazis in 30s a couple of times. That is highly arguable at best.

Forgot to mention how Russia made a pact with Hitler and taken half of Poland on 17th September 1939.

  2. Anyone listen to the interview yet? I am 30 mins in (it's available on Spotify so easy to listen to on the move).

So far it's a history essay from Putin. I would give the essay a C- at the 6th form level. Lot's of info, much irrelevant, much missed out, it's a speech to pro-Putin Russians more than anything.

But then, what did we expect.

Let's see what the other 90 mins are like!

I disagree, and consider them outside candidates for relegation next season. Unlikely of course, but I think a greater chance of that than qualifying for CL, or even other European competition.

Naaah, they will hover around 8-6.

Villa park has no presence on the big nights. Tonight showed. We won't miss it.

I might surprise you, but the seats and walls don't sing.

    It's the fans.

And I doubt new walls can sing, unless we stick Alexa in them or something.

  5. How different is VP to Anfield in it's development?

If plop can build new stands, surely we can operate in a similar model? Quick look at the map and it looks like we have similar restrictions around the stadium.

Manure trying to access the government's levelling up scheme to fund their "wembley of the north" 🤣

You think we will look to access part funding for VP or new build?

The gov should tell them 'don't buy Antony, Maguire and Casemiro and you have covered a 3rd of the stadium'.

  7. It is entirely feasible to stay at VP. While it might not be a brand new stadium, it would be at least half of a brand new stadium.

Re-Do North Stand. Look at options of Re-doing Witton. That would bring an additional 15-20k seats on its own, and on top of that I am sure they can squeeze in great hospitality options.

Trinity can be modernised to increase revenue. The concourses are vast and can be re-shuffled to sell more beer and get some more ways so fans spend money.

Leave Holte End as it is, just modernise it on the inside.

We could realistically have a brand new stadium for a fraction of the cost of building a new ground somewhere else.

I am expecting a major Heck announcement sometime in the next 12 months. They will not leave VP as it is, it would make little financial sense long term.

Unless of course Heck was brought in to maximise revenue with little spend, make the club established in European competitions, and sell it for £600-700m making the owners a nice profit.

Thats exactly where I am at too, it’ll be a true piece of fiction, and anything remotely looking like weakness from Putin or Russia will be edited out.

I wonder if they go all in and present some sort of a peace treaty that was declined by Ukraine/West early in the conflict.

I used the word interesting very loosely, it’s going to be a bit mental.

I'm mixed. See, I love to hear all sides. Even the wrong ones. I think an interview with Stalin or Hitler would be a great historical piece.

But this is just going to be a propaganda BS hour of nothing.

It is literally James Franco in "The Interview".

What a funny world we live in.

Put aside the Villa love-in for a second. He would upset the ethos in the squad, he is unprofessional (which I don’t think can be said of any of our current professional and hard working squad), we don’t need his antics or the negative press, we are progressing without him, he would demand special treatment that he (1) doesn’t deserve and (2) would enrage other more deserving players, and I just wouldn’t want a team built around him again.

    So much to unpack here!

    1. Why would he upset the ethos? That hasn't happened at villa or city.

    2. No one has ever questioned his on pitch professionalism -- he is always in great shape.

    3. I think the press sort of see him as old news now, but sure. Has he done anything worth attention since his first title almost 3 years ago?

    4. We are also progressing without Mbappe, Rodri and Vinicius Jr.

    5. What type of special treatment are you talking about? Own seat at cafeteria?

    6. Have you spoken with Mcginn and know that the team would be outraged?

    7. Why would we build a team around him? Is Villa's team built on one player?

Personally, I'm not sure I'd want him at Villa, but so much unfounded criticism does annoy me a little.

90% of clubs can’t afford his wages and probably fees. He’s stuck there tbh. Probably at best going to get a loan deal.

Players change wages. No, 90% of top clubs can't afford 300k. But many could afford 200k. And he'd most likely sacrifice some money to play regularly.

There are places for Grealish, the question is does he still have that youthful flair that made him great!

There is now big pressure on Cash to try and act as the 3rd CB. I am not convced at all that he can do it but the only other viable option would be to play Kamara at RB.....but with only Tim as his replacement...not really that viable!!

I like Cash and think he gets a lot of stick but last thing I trust him to do is to win a 50/50 ball against a solid PL striker.

We'll likely drop places if we're playing CL just like Newcastle have.

Why would 6 additional games (anything extra is a bonus) necessarily mean that we will drop places?

Newcastle dropped places because they had crazy injuries, poorer squad, manager that is not as good.

It's such a self fulfilling prophecy. It would be very optimistic to assume we will do this well next year - and that is just because we are in a touching distance of top of the league 23 games in.

But just because we have to travel to Spain or Italy 3 times in 3 months does not mean we will necessarily drop places.

The semi-finals seem late or maybe I am just out of the loop for fixture dates. It would be nice for all fans to have more than 20 days to plan for the final.

I'm sure the UEFA and Carlsberg executives will be fine to get their visit to Athens sorted.

They are not call the ‘top 6’, they are the ‘big 6’ because they have far and away the biggest revenue and spending power in the country.

That is not going to change anytime soon.

I'm just waiting for 'Statistically Superior 8'.

And the Lerner badge is widely considered our worst. 150 years and this is what they come up with after giving us 12 months of an actual n8ve round badge.

Have they actually come up with this? Or are we yet to find out and assuming they will?

Since the dawn of time (and Tiktok and FB) , on the basics of bare message boards and chat rooms, there's always been one person come up with a shit chant for a new signing that's never even going to get sung.

As generations pass, technology changes, football culture evolves, he seems ingrained in the fabric of football supporters.

I can't for the life of me fathom why they do it.

Because you watched it, and if 37646 people watch it it will make him feel really good. That's the only reason.
