Chelsea were available, and he could have got the whole club rather than 25% of it. Hard to blame him for being more interested in the better deal.

Absolutely, we are talking about billionaire businessmen here. They go where the value is.

Well that's true I guess and maybe I'm just being a bit negative about it.

Think positive. After Man Utd get their brand new Wembley of the North, we will get a government funded Wembley of the Midlands.

After which, Norwich get a Wembley of East Anglia, and Plymouth get a Wembley of the south west. You know, to level up.

    Everyone gets a Wembley!

Not the best but better than City and Newcastle dominating the league until the end of time

I'm sorry to break it to you, but Man City have dominated the league until the end of time already.

And then you have 3-4 other clubs that will always be just behind City.

Fair enough. It is going to be interesting to see how much we will be able to spend in the window. FFP really takes the fun out of suggesting we sign Mbappe doesn't it?;)

Maybe Mbappe has a one legged cousin we could loan with the option to buy?

Good on him. I guess he made so much money from PSG he could afford the luxury of not having to chase the money for a few seasons.

I know, I recently took at 750k a week job because money wasn't the main factor ;)

Are you the same person who suggested this incredibly dumb thing a few weeks ago? Its a field, with no infrastructure of any kind with thin roads all over the place.

Well, it depends where it would happen exactly. It's not that dumb to suggest something between Tamworth and Birmingham, there is the motorway. Maybe a few new roads would be built by the city to accommodate it, maybe a tram line to stations at Tamworth/Coleshill.

But that's not happening. It would cost too much, it would be a crazy project.

Would it be cheaper long term to home these people, elsewhere in new, bigger modern homes and have the room to play with?

The question is, even if you can house them in a masion, do they want to move?

If the club can offer them a sum above the market rate and they are willing to do so, great.

If they are offered £1m and they turn it down, you cannot do anything (unlike the forever victimised Liverpool did).

  8. Birmingham has plenty of land available for re-development. It's not central London - take a 10-20 min walk out of the centre and you will find yourself among old warehouses and properties ready to get knocked down. Heck, look at what Digbeth is to a large extent.

I think that not only is it unnecessary to build a new stadium, but there is no will for the owners to spunk a £1bn to do so.

All that is needed is to build the NS (I am secretly hoping a new plan is made for an even more grand design) and think of ways to develop the Witton stand. And then you have Holte (leave as is but improve inside), Trinity (new stand that can be modernised, there is plenty of concourse space to do so) and 2 brand new stands.

That would take VP to 60k, and no more is needed at this point (or most likely for another 30 years).

Those stats were achieved with konsa and Kamara in the team and doesn’t take into account he harder fixture list we have for the rest of the season nor the extra Europa games.

That's true, but without Konsa & Kamara we have 3/3 possible points (Fulham win).

Stats can be skewed many ways, and while both important players, it's a team game and I would suggest we will likely continue the same form we had over the season than drop off the pace.

The cash's maybe, not the Luiz's

You last sentence is rubbish. You build on what you've got!

Or you build on what you can get.

Luiz is worth £80m+. Ramsey is worth £50m.

If we can get a ''Pau Torres'' of a midfielder in place of one of those, and it makes financial sense to do so, it's worth it.

Players are assets to clubs. Their value is represented on the pitch, or in the check book of another club.

I'd rather we keep top players. But it's feasible to sell and go forward.

What nonsense written about him yesterday returning. Neither will play again this season but hopefully be fit and raring to go for the stsrt of next season

To be fair it got hyped up a bit.

The club posted a picture of him and a tweet from Romano said something along the lines of 'hoping to be back asap'.

He will likely make a bench appearance towards back end of the season.

What's the point of ever having any hope for anything supporting Villa. All we get in the end is failure and each time it's served up in a way to maximise the pain too.

Being mid table for the season is far far more preferable than a Villa special of do well for first half and then collapsing.

But being tricked into this shit over and over. **** hate this club for how much of a curse it is on those who are struck supporting it.

Only pain and misery for decades now

    Booohooo.

Being in contention for CL, some incredible performances and results, 5 points ahead of 6th place with a far better GD.

What a horrible season, end this misery now.

Your entire sentence is guesswork: "We won't be playing Tim in any significant role. We will simply start Tielemans/McGinn/Luiz midlfield for majority of the games".

As you said in your second sentence above - "assuming".

I think he will give Tim some minutes and see how he gets on. No bets though as, as stated, it's all guesswork and if I'm going to throw money away, let it be in the pub.

It is guesswork (many opinions are) but it's educated guesswork. I think our 3 midfielders pick themselves with the current injuries.

It is an opinion based forum after all, so I just found it weird you thought an opinion that is most likely to be proven correct worth a sarcastic response!

Tim might play some minutes. I doubt he starts a game in the upcoming weeks to replace Kamara. I think it's the most likely scenario.

I love it when information is passed off as fact when, at it's very best, its lightly educated guesswork.

I'm sorry, I honestly don't understand the reply ha!

What is guesswork? Assuming we play highly experienced first team players for majority of games rather than an inexperienced academy product yet to make a mark in the first team?

If you wish I can bet you that in absence of Kamara, our midfield will most often be Luiz, McGinn and Tielemans.

  15. 2 hours ago, Digavilla said:

Yes Kamara will be miss, but maybe Tim can be our Bobby or Mainoo… young gun have no fear and they often make up lack with the lack of experience with enthusiasm, new ideas & creativity..

We won't be playing Tim in any significant role. We will simply start Tielemans/McGinn/Luiz midlfield for majority of the games.

He's been no worse than Ramsey and Diaby this season.

Ramsey has been out of the game for a looong time, and objectively Diaby has been much better in creating chances, assisting, and goal scoring.

With Diaby it's not even close.
