  1. Tom Cleverly? Jheeeze.

    GTFO.

2.5 million and 25k a week Hoolahan it is then. Waste of money.
Sorry, but do you know how ineffective Cleverly actually is? I'd put him in the same class as Jamie O'Hara

Is that good or bad? If we took cleverly I'd cry myself to sleep every night. Only every other night at the moment.

If that's true Anty- I don't want him.

  2. What about a bid for Cleverly from United. Surely better than El Ahmadi.

Dream on - Cleverly would be well out of our price range both fee and wage-wise

Ah the insight of football forums, especially against English players not too popular among fans of other clubs.

Tom Cleverley just turned 24 years and he played 22 league games for the Champions last season, as well as 7 caps for England in 2013.

This season he has 16 games out of 21 in the league, although he is not the one to carry the team. When he has better players around him he will offer them a lot of energy and make their jobs a lot easier. Now, I am not saying he is the best player in the league but I can easily conclude a few things:

    1. He is still young and very much a part of a squad that is MUCH better than ours. Which raises the question; why the hell would he leave Manchester United for Aston Villa?

    2. Why would he leave in the middle of a WC season? He is getting attention and enough games to be in the sight of Roy Hodgson, he wouldn't even come to watch him at Villa Park

I have nothing against suggestions, but please make them a bit more realistic. And at least pick a player that is not getting games! Anderson and Zaha are somewhat gettable from United, but only an idiot would think Hernandez, Cleverley, Kagawa and Nani were available for a loan. Same with Ashley Young, James Milner and Juan Mata (are you kidding me?).

Well there seems to be a few different opinions.

One guy says he is shit and worse than Delph, another thinks people are idiots for suggesting such players.

I read an article where it was suggested they should sell Cleverly. Therefore the suggestion.

  3. What about a bid for Cleverly from United. Surely better than El Ahmadi.

This would be problematic for me considering I endlessly make fun of Cleverly to my United friends.

I know what your saying but their must be something there if all the Man U staff think that there is a great player there somewhere. He might be a bit like Ramsey was for Arsenal a couple of seasons ago. I read Savage say he should be sold and he is not a fans favourite for united. Could be a good player for us. Hardworking and moves the ball well.
  4. We lost 8-0 at Chelsea playing an open game.

We won 3-1 at Arsenal playing counter attack.

We've got one of the worst home records ever because we can't do anything else.

I suppose the best teams are the ones that can do both. Right now I'm watching Man City they can counter and open teams up.

A team like West Ham do neither. "We will be fine."

  5. I once won the Champions league with my local team from Denmark, had Robbie Fowler og Anelka up front. God knows how I signed them. I think if I remember, you could trick them somehow into coming to your club.

    Back in 1998 I think.

  6. Last year I was in Liverpool and went to a match between Everton and Sunderland ( FA cup 1-1)

I have never tried it before but I tried to watch and support Everton as if it was my beloved villa.

Now when I watch the villa I am usually shocked by the poor passing and lack of creativity and so on.

But watching Everton I realized that they were even worse than us. They didn't have any ideas and, there and then, I realized that we (the villa) are not as bad as we all believe. Believe me that day Everton were crap and Sunderland were even worse.

Obviously Everton are doing ok right now. But I believe we are better than, Norwich, Fulham, Palace, Sunderland, Cardiff, WBA, West Ham, and Stoke.

Swansea may be better than us we will finish 12.

Have faith, I guess most you think that England are crap too. They are not as bad as you think.

  7. Will always be Villa vs Tranmere in 94

The atmosphere was amazing, when Atkinson scored the Villa fans went mental

In the Holte when it was standing and everyone was going wild. I ended up about 30 feet from where I'd been standing, just carried there by the surge.

    Fantastic!

    This for me too.

  8. Hazard too good.

He's a wonderful player. I just point to him when people act all surprised about Mata not getting a regular game at Chelsea.[/quote

Makes you wonder when scouts and coaches look at young players and say they are not tall enough
