Kewell was brilliant at Leeds, one of the best attacking players in the premier league at the time.
Never got to same level at Liverpool, remember him being injured for most of the season and got him fit in time for the cup finals where he lasted 20 minutes before limping off.
I would say he's best player Australia have produced though.
I think Bosnich and perhaps Schwarzer were better in their position than Kewell was in his. Kewell had the talent, but I think he bottled it on the big occasions. He also loses points for insisting in an interview once that his surname was pronounced "Kool"

Craig Johnston, despite never playing for Australia, was a good player.
He was. It's weird, he's regarded as a great Australian player, but he was born in South Africa and played for England u-21s!

Alli is 22 years old, and has knocked in 47 goals in 150 games for Tottenham, from midfield. Why is he in this thread?!

Tubbs, Pidge, Binger, Punter, Slats, Tugga,...Aussies are (I know it's a low bar) probably better at nickos than Poms.
Normally it's a simply y/ie or o at the end of the name though - Warnie, Hughesy, Boonie, Finchy, Maxy, Lynny, Watto, Healso... Mind you, you've gotta love that Nathan Lyon's nickname is Gary!

Kewell especially was a wonderful player.
Shame he was made of glass, a lot of talent went to waste there.

Just re-watching the Marvel movie series. I think Thor 2 is my least favourite of the movies so far. Just pipping Iron Man 2. Apart from Winter Soldier the sequels do take a dip in quality before picking back up again, which is a shame as GOTG 3 is currently very unlikely.
I've been watching them for the first time this year. I think even when they do drop in quality a little, like the two you mention, they're still solid 7/10 movies. Although I don't think GOTG 2 is a drop, I though that one was better than the first one - so many laugh out loud moments for me.

God I hate that penchant in cricket to call everyone -y
Don't ever come to Australia!

Well done Cook, chuffed to bits for him

Nice to see Cook going out with a bang rather than a whimper. Be wonderful to see him go on and get a 100 today.

All this hating on cats, man. I think as humans we do far more damage to the environment and wildlife.
Cats are undoubtedly awful for some environments. But I rather think humans lost the right to complain about other animals damaging the environment some time back. I don't see many cats organising large scale deforestation or dumping megatons of plastic into the oceans!

I'm not too fussed if we don't play the greatest football, if we generally win.
I'm not too fussed if Bruce doesn't have his own style that he instills in the team regardless of personnel, if generally we win.
I'll give him some leeway at the beginning of the season too, after a torrid summer.
But I'm finding it hard to forgive him for going into the season with one bloody centre back. Inexcusable.

Would Cahill not be Australia greatest ever national team player? Played 4 world cups scored in 3, got the late winner vs Syria to bring you there this time and seemed score big goals for you guys
Also holds the national goalscoring record
Certainly the most impressive record. Not even close to the talent that Viduka or Kewell had for example, but made up for it with a massive work rate. As you say, scored some very important goals.
He's been way past his best for at least 5 years though - hell, last year he was kept out of the Melbourne City team by some pretty poor strikers, the best of whom was Ross McCormack. But as AJ says, he'll flog anything for a bit of cash, even his goal celebrations, which hasn't especially endeared him to a lot of people.
There was plenty of talk that he only made it into the squad for Russia because of the insistence of the team sponsor Caltex, so they could run with their Cahilltex promotion!

Dear god, despite Tim Cahill retiring after the world cup, they're digging him up to play in a farewell match in November against Lebanon, in Sydney.
Just let it go people!

Glad to see Cook retire to be honest. One of the best batsman of all time, but clearly past it now. For a good few years though he was phenomenal.

Picked up a Super Nintendo on the weekend for $120, now have sore thumbs from playing Mario Kart and Street Fighter 2 all day yesterday. So much nostalgic fun!
Kinda tempted by the Sinclair, but I got the Atari a while back, and while it was great fun for a day or two, there wasn't much to keep me coming back.

Here is Bishop Charles H Ellis III feeling up Ariana Grande at the Aretha Franklin funeral
The text on the podium makes the picture complete.
He also managed to make a racist joke about her name and tacos
That's awful man, poor woman.

Just did my first public performance in many years. Just one song at an open mic evening, supporting my mates Waiting for Wednesday, but fun to get back on a stage again. Come to think of it, the first time I've ever played solo acoustic, without a band.
I really enjoy solo shows. Whilst I find them far more nerve wracking than playing with a band, I love the fact that you can concentrate 100% on your own performance and play a song however the hell you feel like at the time.

It just wouldn't work.
ODI cricket is monumentally different to Test Cricket.
I mean, yes, those batsmen could play well, and let's face it, who wouldn't do better than 4 0's Jennings? But I mean, you can't tell them to play as they do in ODI. Buttler just got out for 21 playing that very way.
It was a tongue in a cheek comment... and it probably wouldn't work, but the point is that it couldn't possibly be any worse than our current batting. I can't believe that Roy for example could be a worse opener in the test side than Cook or Jennings.

Feeling nauseous all day, along with some lovely headaches, thanks to this massive fire at a factory just up the road from me in Melbourne's western suburbs. Fire apparently a combination of acetone, paint, asbestos, bales of wool and oxygen canisters. EPA telling us the air quality is fine, no problems

Another predictably spineless performance from the top order.
Given that our ODI side consistently makes massive scores, I suggest putting Roy, Hales & Morgan into the test side and just telling them to play their normal game.
