Dented so much so that we have a 7 point gap still as it stands assuming Spurs pick nothing up today

He's a crucial player, no doubt. Unai, however, will not tolerate his poor attitude and silly hotheadedness. Too much of a passenger last night.

Nobody is excusing Carlos. He **** up. If he can’t head it he should be doing something far better than what he did. Like leathering it clear. Not trying a deft hook to Digne.
But Olsen 100% made that situation far more difficult than it should have been
I agree that he made it harder. We might disagree on other parts of it, but I appreciate the discussion. This is what football is about - debate and discussion about the good and bad. Will watch it back again tomorrow with some fresh eyes.

Most of the fault is on Carlos there.
Olsen takes his share of the blame, but it’s Carlos who’s decided to try that pass rather than just booting it away.
Just hoof it into the stands if he doesn't want to head it.

If he doesn't want to head it why not pass it to Olsen? Diego's touch was terrible. You don't do that in football at any level - you can't face away from the opposition and make a blind clearance.

I'm still bursting with pride with this season. No matter the setback, we rise to it. European football again and we are in a commanding position for fourth.

Lively when he came on. But the tactics changed. Nobody likes to be subbed off as a sub, but it was purely a pragmatic decision. Our attacking play was very poor in the second half and he had little to work with.

Can't believe anyone would think the simple header back isn't on, olsen has to back peddle before he can pick it uo but it's still easy enough to manage
Piece of piss cushion header kills the play
It's baffling as it's harder to stop yourself and re-position your body for the clearance he decided. He had ample time to head that back with the second bounce. It was bad enough that he managed to pick out Palmer who was the farthest back of all of them.

Does he rush out? Yes. Does Diego still has time to head that - but he makes a bad defensive judgement. You cannot make a move like that in the middle of your final third. For me, it's more on Diego than the keeper.

Yeah, I did pal, from start to finish… and I saw us 2-0 up with Emi on the pitch, and 2-2 at full time with 45 minutes of Olsen…
We were SHITE in the second half, collectively… but don’t tell me that we wouldn’t have stood a better chance of walking away with all three points had Emi stayed on…
Thats why he is our first choice goalkeeper…
Who was injured. What else could we do?

For me, Diego tells Robin to stop but is not even looking at what's behind him or where Pau is. It was easier to head it back - but he stopped himself and positioned himself to make a very poor clearance. At that level, you cannot ignore what's behind you.

Ridiculous claim.
I really wonder if people posting sometimes actually watched the game.

Olsen was out of his box
Diego made the call seeing Olsen charging out. He doesn't even look behind him. Pau is flapping his arms in confusion. It was an error of judgement from Diego. Olsen doesn't help, but as an experienced defender, he got it wrong.

Have to see it again but it looked 100% Carlos at error.
I do think Olsen rushes too quick but Diego makes the call and isn't even looking at who is behind them. That's a big defensive error.

Still lots of promise. Very hard game for him tonight. Needs to be braver in closing down.

The ball was head height. 99 out of 100 times that's headed back to the keeper and he can easily pick it up. Olsen was grossly out of position which forced Carlos to try that comical clearance attempt. Just terrible defending by all involved.
Watch it back. Olsen stops running because Diego indicates he going to take control and well doesn't. He could have still headed it to him.

Just watched the Gallagher goal. What the hell was Tim doing backing off but standing so far away from the ball?
I said in the match thread his lack of confidence and experience shows. We are down to the bare bones in midfield and he’s not doing the basics. It’s a big mistake that I hope he learns from.

I think he was at fault for the chance leading to the great save. Carlos would have headed back to him, but Olsen had come for the ball out of his box so Carlos had to try to clear it awkwardly.
Diego took the decision without sighting the keeper

Poch being a baby. Not sure how he doesn’t understand it’s a foul?
He’s masking his shortcomings. It was a blatant foul. You can’t pull someone’s arm or shove them in the back.

I can just feel the entire defence being nervous whenever he plays.
Even as a fan I get panic attacks watching him.
The nerves were already there. We struggle against a high press team.

If in doubt stick it out for the throw. Don’t over complicate it.
