Iroegbunam is a completely different type of midfielder to Dendoncker, he's probably more likely to get in our team as wide midfielder at the moment in the event of injuries to Ramsey or McGinn than he is as a Kamara replacement in the DM role.

Lamare Bogarde is a lot closer to Dendoncker than Iroegbunam, but presumably he's not going to second choice DM yet.

If Dendoncker leaves a replacement I would be very surprised if a replacement isn't brought in

Ndidi coming from Leicester ? Contract ends summer.

There's a massive amount of ground between Mark Delaney and Gareth Bale 😅

Certainly is without doubt and while I agree with your hope that he will be better than Delaney just how much better we will have to wait and see.

Makes Robbie Savage look like a Villa fan.

Horrible human being that played for scum in the 90’s.

    You sure it’s human?

As I said before, almost all loan contracts enable the parent club to call the player back. Plymouth agreed season long loans with Villa for both Azaz and Hayden but we decided to recall them against the wishes of Plymouth, who unfortunately for them, could do nothing about it. It did not require the ok from Plymouth. All the power was with Villa.

I believe that’s exactly the same for Lenglet. I obviously haven’t seen his contract but if it is any different, then that would be unusual. Two parties can agree whatever they want in a contract so long as it is within the confines of the law but usually there is a unilateral clause in the favour of the parent club that enables a recall.

All you say is true but, so far, Barca has not recalled Lenglet. If that possibility exists in the contract why no action so far? Is it because Barca has no need of the money from the player sale or has Monchi got other irons in the fire with Barca which are more important to them? Who knows: I don’t.

    Life’s simple pleasures?

A good pint (or two) with entertaining company - friendly banter - then off to a comfortable bed (I’m 75 so little energy for more ……… those were the days!).

Went to London in the first weekend post lockdown lifting.

Worst weekend of my life. Billions of angry people being angry and being people.

Sad to think that London together with other large cities are not safe for those who wish to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

It would offset it, sure. But then how do you push to next level of being competitive in that competition?

Some sales will have to be made to get better, as much as I'd hate for it to happen.

Some players will have to be moved-on but for me we should start with Chambers, Traore, Hause & Dendoncker. Plus we have Coutinho & Sanson out on loan - not sure what this means for our wage bill but if there are savings we need to make them. Given we achieve CL qualification getting rid of that six would surely be sufficient to allow quality squad additions without further sales.

Could V Sports be interested in one of the three SPFL clubs that are being eyed up?

Any idea which three clubs are thought to be being ‘eyed’? Don’t Hearts play in claret & blue? 😉

Brennan Johnson hasn't quite been firing for them from what I've seen so could see Werner replacing him in the starting 11.

Who cares? I’m really only interested in additions to Villa’s squad.

I have no knowledge of our clubs actual financial position, and I have no trust in random (clickbait?) articles publishing "facts" without any checkable references as to their source or accuracy.

However, I do have two genuine questions.

    1) Why would Emery have joined a club who were (reportedly) in the middle of a huge financial crisis having recently suffered a catastrophic annual loss of 275 million pounds?

    2) Why would Monchi have joined AVFC if he was unable to spend money due to having absolutely no FFP headroom?

This "FFP league table" seems like a load of rubbish in my opinion.

Well said. What I think is that imaginations run wild when little appears to be happening. This, in turn, is because we have a tight, highly professional, team running our recruitment so we have to trust them and have patience - at least for now.
