Great goal and a great game, but there's no comparing Shitwell and Delph surely? Delph scored 8 in all comps from a deeper position, and in an infinitely worse team. Few of those 8 were corkers too. Sidders just had no discernable attributes that would mark him out as a professional footballer. Genuine conman imo.

Offered absolutely nothing imo. Comical own goal on his debut and only downhill from there. Certainly wouldn't say he was way better than Gueye/Veretout/Westwood, etc (not that they are/were all that).

Anyway, OT, not sure Richardson will even find a Championship club after his showings in recent years.

I'm not sure it did tbh. Normally ACL injuries can hamper speed and agility, but I'm not convinced this was the case with Okore. For me he has a case of Richardsitis, whereby he somehow thinks it's a good idea to regularly vacate his CB position to try and win the ball higher up the pitch. He succeeds a lot of the time, but unfortunately this is massively outweighed by the times when he fails to win the ball and our backline is totally exposed.

What made the 2nd half vs Luton so septic was the fact that we had 2 maniacs at CB vacating the position, with only a bumbling Alan Hutton to cover!

That's insane. Martinez would be one of our best players in history, so much so that there is zero chance of him coming. People are taking Tony's wording far too literally. It'll likely be Bamford/Hernandez/Wells and any of those would be a decent short-term purchase.

Both Tish and Westwood were poor second half so much so we ended up defending on the edge of our penalty area. Even then we must have half a dozen really good counter attacks which petered out through poor final passes. We ended up just lumping the ball up the field in the vague hope Gestede could get on the end of it....very poor.

The subs bench was a joke, Green was the best option we had, the rest were just bench fillers. Three defenders was it, do me a favour? Adama would have torn their defence apart in the second half so where was he?

Once the central midfield consisted of Westwood and Gardner I gave up all hope of anything happening. Westwood is a tidy player in a good / winning side but he was worryingly outclassed in the second half by frankly nothing more than a very well organized and drilled side in the shape of Huddersfield.
