    General I was just having a pop at the various Bishops of Rome. I'd never wish you to waste your valuable time on my output of trivia. You guys are doing an absolutely fantastic job at Villa Park and long may it continue. By the way, your contribution to the fans' websites is well and truly above the call of duty.

    Actually, General, since the late nineteenth century the holder of the office Pontifex Maximus, which was previously held by the likes of Julius Caesar and the Emperor Augustus, has claimed infallibility. I have to say that on the pitch at least, Paul McGrath was very nearly infallible.

    We could do with signing somebody like this Own Goals bloke during the summer. As I seem to recall he was a Welsh international and was prolific at every club he played for. Also, he’s the only player in the top ten I’ve seen in action.

    Within an hour of the 5-1 victory, a so-called Villa fan told me he’d have preferred ‘a scrappy 1-0’ (he didn't say to who). I know it takes all sorts but surely no right thinking Villan should be expressing such opinions.

    General Krulak, by all accounts there is huge demand from people wishing to purchase match programmes outside the ground. Sellers located by Aston Church, on Witton Lane by the Holte steps and the corner of Witton Lane by the unofficial badge seller might be fruitful locations.
