  1. Tough loss thursday night, General, for the Browns. Looked like everything was going the right way until the 3rd quarter, Winslow getting stripped of the ball was a real turning point. On the plus side, Brady Quinn looked to settle into the offence easily and quickly which can only help in the short term and long term future. Fingers crossed he can carry on progressing. All the best, to you and your family.
  2. same as above from me aswell General, thoughts are with you.
  3. Hi General, just wanted to congratulate yourself and Randy on the Browns 1st win of the season. People might point to the fact it was only against a poor Bengals, or Bungals, side. But a win is a win and i was delighted to see the Browns finally get 1 in the W column! Also, I think i'm right in reading you are a Redskins fan for many years, if it is indeed true, congrats on the huge win in Dallas! I watched the game and I'm more impressed every time I see Jason Campbell. He's looking the real deal and looks extremely comfortable which will only help the team in the long run. Much love General!
  4. Hi General. Just wanted your thoughts on the surprise win for my Dolphins against the Pats? Would you put it down to a bad day at the office for the Pats or is there more to it than that? I hope it's a turning point for the Phins but i'm not going to get ahead of myself there, things are still very much so a work in progess but still extremely delighted with our performance! The Browns continue to struggle this season, i know it's only 3 games of the season, but if results carry on in the same form do you think people will start calling for Brady Quinn in a couple of weeks? Changing QB's does not always provide answers, look at the Chiefs for instance, but it's the way media and fans seem to go whenever a team starts badly. Great win for Villa yesterday too, been a fantastic week of football, both this side and the other side of the pond!
  5. You can't rule out the 3 teams you said General, but I think there'll be a question mark over the Pats now that Brady is out for the season, although i'm sure Matt Cassel or whoever they bring in, will be adequate replacements. I wasn't aware that Merriman of the Chargers had decided on surgery, that puts a question mark over my own choice now! lol. Thanks for your time, General.
  6. Quick US football question, General. Which team, in your opinion, do you think will win the Superbowl this year? I know week 1 has only just passed us by, but most people have a team in mind who they think will take it. Out of interest, i'm leaning towards the Chargers even though they had a surprise opening weekend defeat, and like any other sport, they can keep their key players healthy. Browns for play-offs!
  7. Brilliant article mate and a great read too. The optimisim has never been higher in my eyes, long may it continue.
  8. Hi General, just wondered how the nerves are before the big kick-off across the pond? I thought you'd like to know, alot of my friends who are also big fans of the NFL, have started to back the Browns as their 'second team' mainly based on the fantastic way the club is run by Randy and how much respect he and yourself give the fans. They are not Villa fans either which makes it even more special and it just goes to show how much class and respect you've both brought to the Villa. Out of interest, i strangely support two teams in the NFL, the Dolphins and the 49ers (sucks to be me, huh?), but the Browns are right behind them now. Goodluck to the Browns!!
  9. I just wanted to add my voice to the fixture congestion that we have coming up shortly. I dont know if anyone else has posted it, but after the international break we'll have 5 games in 12 days. I know we've increased the squad size, but are we gonna be able to cope with doing that this early in the season? Thanks for your time General.
  10. Sadly, I agree. He will always be the one that was desperate to leave. Yeah i'll third that sentiment. I didn't let him off the hook, so to speak, after the odense game but i did soften my stance towards him. If the deadline was stuck to then there wouldn't be this much of a mess and he might have been forgiven in time, not by everyone, but probably the majority. Now? The majority wouldn't forgive nor forget.
  11. General, your thoughts on the big sports news dominating the US, Brett Favre to the Jets? I thought Tampa Bay was looking his likely destination, just goes to show how much things can change in a short space of time.
  12. Just to make clear, my earlier post wasn't anything to do with kissing anybodies ass, was my way of showing support to the general. I know that i cant speak for every fan on here and i'm not trying to do so. As I said, I don't want the General to turn his back on the fans because of the continued, repeitive moaning and bashing of the way the club is conducting it's transfer business.
  13. General, please do not take these outbursts to heart! Fans are just reacting to todays news and it's struck a chord big time. I'm as annoyed as the next fan when it comes to this whole barry saga, but the other issues that's being spouted on here and to you are really unfair. I'm almost willing to say that it comes across being really ungrateful for everything that's been done since randy and yourself, along with martin, came into this club. Would I like to see more players? Absolutely. But not at the cost where it would cause a split between randy and yourself with the fans. And as you've stated countless times, you have no business in the transfer dealings and martin & randy are working hard hard to bring in players, so I think it's really unfair to read the flack you're receiving on here. I'm sure a man such as yourself doesn't need any sort of encouragement from a young lad like myself, but please dont take these posts to heart. Thankyou General.
  14. Happy 4th of July too General, to yourself and to Randy!
  15. Fantastic response General, actually gave me goosebumps reading that. It's clear from your many posts on this site there's passion in an abundance from yourself and Randy for this football club, especially in your last post. You make me proud to be a Villa fan even more so, thank you. Quick question, any plans to join MON at the Euros, maybe take a game in together?
  16. Hey General, this has been eating away at me for days now so i've got to ask you....what sort of RB is your wife and what is she going to bring to the team? Are we looking at a solid defender, an attacking threat or an all-action, all-rounder? Thanks for your time Sir.
