A friend of my youngest son who used to play in the same football team as him last year got stabbed to death in Wolverhampton yesterday, 17 years old
Absolute tragedy, I know his dad quite well because he’s done a lot for my son in the past cannot imagine what it can be like. Parents worst nightmare, heartbreaking
Very sorry to hear this mate - my Mrs is from Wolves and when we saw the news yesterday it hit her as she would go and hang out there at around that time after school
Thoughts with everyone involved, but especially hope that your lad can bounce back from such a traumatic event

In what way?
In much the same way that Jesse Lingard is a promising youngster

I think Everton already tried that tactic...

Indeed. Much like when the Premier League was “Barclays Premier League”, we called it the Premier League.
I called it a royale with cheese

He'll do well to get to 230+ goals that Billy Walker has for us

Needs to smash Gabbys record as Ollie is a proper striker and deserves it more.
Could well have the record by the end of next season

In fairness a lot of players probably havent a clue what they are taking, managers probably as well. Medical staff and probably Sporting Directors/CEO only ones to know the actual truth
Pep, is that you?

Don't even think Brucey would envisage McGinn being a regular starter in a top four challenging PL side.
I don't even give him credit for the signing, but probably one for the unpopular opinions thread

Who would have expected this when he joined?
Steve Bruce

Quite possibly been mentioned in this thread already, but it's worth checking out the Birmingham Dispatch; independent journalism set up by a disgruntled former Birmingham Mail employee. Similar to initiatives set up in other cities previously (Manchester, Sheffield, maybe Liverpool as well):

I thought Frank Skinner was the only funny baggies fan.
Well, someone's obviously never read Adrian Chiles' derangded ramblings in The Guardian

Interesting discussion on the Totally Football Show podcast about United's recent style of play, they have transformed into a completely counter attacking team. They're happy to sit back and let teams have the ball and as many chances as they want, then use their pace up front to counter. It's why Luton had the majority of possession and chances. Seems to be working at the minute, but surely only a matter of time before teams' figure this out, and just sit back so they have no space to run into. Also, can't imagine the United fans will be too happy with this approach long term, they've been used to in the past controlling games, not letting other teams do it.
It's what's brought them most success since Fergie left tbh, still think Grealish in his prime could have been the missing piece to make them serious contenders again. Que sera!

It's my opinion. Which everyone has on this forum about some things. Are you going to reply to all those asking the same stupid question?
Not really sure what this refers to, so probably not

All certainly a factor, but I'd imagine it's more simply that mental health becomes a bigger factor in any given society once most people have their more basic needs met

We literally compete with them directly twice a season and he has scored against us many times. On the point about league places, we were literally 2 places behind them last season and without Salah, we would have finished above them.
Any chance on next week's lottery numbers while you've got the old crystal ball out?

1. Man City vs Man Utd
Probably United, because City are ruining football
2. Liverpool vs Everton
Everton every day of the week
3. Spurs vs Arsenal
Hate them both, but hate Spurs less than Arsenal, so that decides that one
4. Newcastle vs Sunderland
Sunderland. Even if the Geordies didn't hate us and weren't owned by the Saudis
5. Celtic vs Rangers
Celtic as a lot of my family support them, so I take a passing interest
6. Sheffield United vs Wednesday
Love Sheffield as a city and quite like both teams tbh. I'll go for Wednesday as the current underdogs
7. Forest vs Derby
Ended up walking out of Wembley the wrong way after the play off final and got stuck amongst the Derby fans, who tbh were massively sound which left a bit of an impression on me. So I'll go for Derby
8. Inter Milan vs AC Milan
AC Milan, only because I preferred their kits over Inter's in the 90s
9. Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe
No idea whatsoever, I'll go with Fenerbache because of the way some Galatasary fans still gloat about those Leeds fans who got murdered
10. Real Madrid vs Barcelona (pushing 'derby' to 'rivalry' with this one)
Barca, but it's another shitty choice

Do we get Man U in the next round?

I'm pretty sure there are more bluenoses in the city, than Villa Fans.
It also seems, we have a problem attracting fans from 2000-3000 miles away and 10k-13k
North Brum mostly Villa
East Brum mostly Blues
South/South West Brum a mix of Blues and Villa
West Birmingham/Sandwell a mix of Villa and Albion
I'd say we probably edge it, because you find more Villa in Blues areas than vice versa

Just his whole personality. I don't think his off the field antics are too extreme nowadays but I imagine Pep isn't best pleased with his philosophy on life.
Quite enjoying the mental image of Jack and Pep arguing over Cartesian dualism

Most overrated Manager in the Premier League right now?

It hasn't been a one team league since he left in fairness. Easy to look down on the Scottish league, but Celtic were on their arse when he came in and he did a very good job
That all translates into him being a decent upper-midtable manager in the PL, he has been overhyped by the media this year though
