Which one was that, the team 10 years ago or the team 15 years ago?

    In Denmark.

That is not proving yourself at the standard we require.

Ok, just for a comparison, I see a lot of people wanting Graham Potter, who has done nothing with Brighton and before that proving himselft in the second best division in Sweden whereas Hjulmand won the title in Denmark in a 3 horse race, NOT managing one of the 3.

In the second period with FC Nordsjælland, unfortunately FC Copenhagen and FC Midtjylland had become a lot stronger and there was not much he could do. He is still a really good manager to get the best out of young players. As of now, managing Denmark, we had good European competition and so far the best team in Europe if you look a the qualification games, we have played 8 games, won all 8 and have a goalscore of 27-0

Why? He's not proven himself at all at club level and international football is a different kettle of fish.

    A massive no from me.

Can You all do yourself a favour and fact check before commenting on things you don't know anything about. See my post on page 70

The team he won the league with had an avarage age about 22-23

Success, you mean like Southgate? Both of them have truly dreadful records in club management. I’d be surprised and concerned if we appointed him. Probably just a lazy link because of Lang.

Thats actually not true. He had a lot of succes with FC Nordsjælland where he won the danish championship in 2012 with a team, where he mainly used players that was brought through their youth academy and finished 2nd the year after, having to compete with the likes of FC Copenhagen, FC Midtjylland and Brøndby IF.

Winning the danish league with FCN is like winning the Scottish Championship with Hibernian

After that he got a move to Mainz 05, but wasn't really given time before he got fired.

Koeman? Or would he be too burnt out from barca?

Not saying I'd want him. Just he might be an option

No god please no. Like i said in a previous thread, he has failed at every single club he has been at since Ajax. If he gets appointed, I’m not going to watch a Villa game again until he is gone

He will have a year left on his contract next summer and he will be playing next to no football unless we get injuries. He won't sign any extension and then we keep him around with Trez and run down the last years of their contracts? That makes no financial sense. AEG is a saleable asset in a position we are well stocked in, he's the 5th best wide player at the club after Bailey, Buendia, Traore and JPB.

He needs to move on with our thanks and he's fully capable of regular first team football in any of the top 5 leagues.

Maybe 5th best in your opinion, but best right now, together with Bailey, in terms of output....

A lot of people were focusing on the miss, I wasn't. Sometimes you have to look at HOW he gets into that position in the first place and exactly what he tried to do. His first and second touch to get into a position where he could shoot were sublime. It wasn't an easy ball to control and the ability to bring it under control and then have the wherewith-all to try and chip the keeper on his weaker foot is really, really superb at his age.

He is a very good little player, I just hope he gets the game time to really push on. I think he'd absolutely smash it up at a championship club and could see him perhaps spending time on loan in the second half of the season.

Another talented lad we've brought through.

Actually the first touch on the first chance wasn't good at all as he made the goal smaller because ofthe direction he moved in, but the touches on the second chance was great

He is not an option, sorry he isnt. He is nit good enough cover for injury/abscence. Has this damn thing about staying on the line, for Mings pass which was poor, immediately ran away from the ball when a coach would ssy close down. Almost turned his back all the way in his hurry to get to the line.

Didnt command the area, very quiet and didnt look confident enough where he was.

I understand the not playing a lot as mentioned by a few above, but still not getting basics right and looking that out of depth, nope move on please.

Get an u21 as cover and give him a run for that.

I'm sorry, but that's not true. He commanded  the area, caught the balls under pressure safely and started the attacks quickly. But Chelsea was just too big a mouthful

If you look at their numbers respective to their single PL seasons, they're remarkably close. Cash a little better at passing, Freddie a little better at pressing, getting forward, etc, but overall incredibly similar. However, Freddie put up those numbers in ~330 minutes fewer and in an exponentially worse, unsettled team. Then, he went on loan to a bottom half side in France and smashed it. At one point, he was statistically the best performing defender in Ligue 1 (and has topped the tables in Europe's top 5 leagues for things like interceptions and tackles more than once in the past, which is presumably why we bought him). I'd love to see him get a chance in this (...hopefully still...😓) much improved side, think he might surprise people.

I know, I have always been a fan of Guilbert and actually I dont understand why Smith isnt using him

My biggest issue with the way we play is it relies heavily on our left and right backs playing as wing backs and overlapping and getting in crosses.

Targett had a great understanding with 'some wide boy who left' and needs to develop the same relationship with the new boys

But Cash often fails to take the ball forward very far, often passing backwards or sideways.

he certainly has zero synergy with Anwar on the right and sometimes he works ok with Traore but i don't think he overlaps enough.

Guilbert was better at this, but was often reckless with his tackles and his passing could be poor, but his pace and attacking prowess were often good.

I don't think Guilbert is better than Cash but I think Cash needs to offer more going forward.

The less players play the better they get sometimes, but I did think Guilbert was worth a second chance as back up, but Dean clearly doesn't.

So a bit like Cash then? 🤔
