Have any of you heard of this Southampton striker, Ricky something?

You throw us a late bloomer, I'll throw a Luke Chadwick and Francis Jeffers.

+ Ricky Lambert has always got in the team wherever he has been - He has come prominence as he continued to score goals as southampton moved upwards. This is different to MA who at 24 years of age hasn't managed to be a first team regular.

    Lambert joined Southampton at 28.

Before that he played for the likes of Rochdale and Stockport. Can you tell me that when Lambert was the same age as Marc (at Stockport) you watched enough lower league football to say he showed more promise than Albrighton?

I'm not saying he will be as good a player as Lambert, and I'm not saying he won't. I can't see how you can write him off when he wasn't given a chance last year due to injury, the season before no attacking player in the team had a good year (due to tactics) and the season before that he played brilliantly.

This save made my mind go into the same kind of overdrive that the save from Samba's headed against QPR did last season, just trying to understand how someone could possibly move in the air like that.

I was in disbelief when I was watching the game, it was literally like he was levitating.

  3. Interesting to see "super" Marc on the bench today despite Lambert saying he'd be opened to a loan. This gives me the impression the loan would be more to genuinely improve him/give him match fitness, in oppose to a Stevens/Bent/Delfoneuso/Ireland **** off kind of loan.

Is Redmond being sh*tted on just because he used to be a blue-nose or is there another reason?

Acted like a tw*t throughout his time on the pitch.

Ah right. I watched the game on BT and didn't really pick up on that, however I was watching the game with my mates so didn't notice everything.  :P

  5. I don't recall Luna having all that much protection from the winger. He's an attacking full-back and certainly more effective at getting forward.

I recall Weimann saving his ass on occasion by tracking back today when Luna decided he was either a centre back of winger.

  6. Without games I wouldn't consistently have something to look forward to every weekend.

For me supporting a team to such an extent feels like gambling, as when I was younger I was more of an armchair fan and so I only got fairly excited and disappointed when Villa won or lost, however the more time, money and emotion I put in the more ecstatic I am with a win and the more utterly depressed with a loss.

  7. Could see this resulting in Janoi Donacien getting some action when the inevitable happens and Baker and Clark get injured.

I really hope I never see Chris Herd playing at centre back ever again. A complete foul machine.

(Edit - didn't see the post above by the way)

  8. As much as we'd all love him to be this link between midfield and forwards, I think he's more of a Berbatov type player.

  9. They now have three different characters on single player you can swtich between and a completely different game online which allows you to create your own character completely. I wouldn't describe that as "nothing"...

When he was kind of through on goal and he smashed that ball towards Benteke I was in utter disbelief... however i'm thinking today was probably just an off day.

I think he was worried of shooting with his right foot. He should have just had a crack!

Maybe he didn't realise how close to the goal he was? It was a very odd moment.
